My grandma, Allie (Mahon) Hill, is probably some kin to these. I remember her talking about them back when I was growing up. She was born in 1910 and died in 1998. Thanks for the tour of these ancestors of ours. Hi Phillip, good videos! lol
The effort you both put into these videos is amazing. Leo, the excitement in your voice when you discover what you’re looking for just adds that much more to the story. And you’re right, that cannot be done sitting in front of a computer. Your ‘adventures’ are very much appreciated!!
So interesting. Heather & Leo if a cemetery or person is lost and can be found you will find it. You never give up. Persistence & determination should be your middle names! Excellent work. You never disappoint me ❤️. Leo you worry me no end with your mountain goat adventures. I'm always afraid you'll have a heart attack. Be careful and safe travels.
Leo, this is o exciting! You are traveling on a beautiful and scenic highway. Heather does an awesome job with the research. She should do this for a living possibly doing genealogies for families. Thank you.
Great walk back in time, one question does anyone know where Alifairs grave is located. Just asking as that would also be a great find also. It's a shame that the tombstones weren't better built to last the test of time. I know these folks did the best they could by their love ones. Times were hard and money was hard to come by. Thanks Leo and Heather for all you do.
She is buried at the McCoy cemetery across from Randals old home place, but you can only visit couple times a year if your lucky. It's called the forbidden cemetery.
Is there a reason for the marbles in the gravestones? I"m not from the area in fact I'm not from the US. So I don't know if this is a local custom or just a way to make the stones look pretty?
@@thehillbillyfiles, Leo, according to the Jewish religion, small stones are still placed on tombstones by family members to show their loved ones they are there and honoring their souls.

Around here they put people family land, but saved the low level ground for houses and farms.
