Honourable action. We need more and more actions like this one, but above all we need to tackle the root of these problems. For example, in what time span are we removing the 30 million tons of plastics out of the oceans? 1 month? 1 year? 3 years? We're filling the oceans at a rate of 8 million tons per year, so we need to remove it at a fast enough rate. But better still, we need to stop adding.
It's sometimes easy to blur our vision towards the outcomes of what sounds like a good action, just because we mean well. Again, the projects for planting millions of trees will definitely increase the atmospheric carbon removal however they'll be nothing more than large patches of trees completely deprived of any ecosystems. Trees without end and no animals, or insects, in sight. We need to stop the wrong doing first. There’s no silver bullet...

100% pedro, this is almost like a quick win, which is aimed to be complete by end of 2021.
That said it should defo help with wild life in the water.
Meanwhile tackling consumption is a huge thing everyone needs to deal with. Buying less from the individual, packaging less and more eco friendly from the businesses providing products.
And dare I say it, things like the UK shipping its waste and recycling to other countries is not the best, though we are a small country, it going else where, where appropriate policy may not be in place is more harm than good.
So yes everyone needs to jump on board. But will need to be two tier. Start making changes, at same time as clearing up existing mess.

i dont believe in any of this. mrbeast should focus on how he can build infrustures to help people. people matter not sea.

You have to start somewhere. I think infrastructures will certainly cost more and probably need land, so will certainly make less of a dent. Pollution will always need addressing and I think this is a good place to start. Ultimately less consuming is where we need to be.

@@MarlonKingShow its humans who pollute, if we change our ways there would be less pollution. thats it. unless he wants to be cleaning monthly, because the place is gonna be polluted again if the people havent changed. but if he create infrastructures to help people, and make sure theres more bins, and recycle centers that is the correct way. this is just a one off, waste of money event.

100% agree, but it also needs cleaning, and until plastic bottles are stopped being sold which is commercial business decisions which are more out of scope for mr beast to adjust. This side he can help with.
This does contribute to infrastructure for rivers so will be there ongoing.

@@MarlonKingShow we can still sell plastic, whats necessary is people have a change of mind, and if theres more bins, and laws to enforce people dont litter, and importantly theres recycle centers. thats the way forward. anyway have a good day friend.
