Finally!!!! An original Dominican spaghetti recipe ❤❤(that's what my husband said) I been dying to learn how to make this since I'm Puetorican and my husband Dominican and he loves and misses the sazon from his country but never seen a good recipe and I just sent it to him and he said "yes that's it baby, make them to day pls" so I'm so excited to go home and try it. Love your channel by the way ❤❤❤
@@Chefzeecooks i arrived late to your channel. I am so glad i came across your channel has been shared with my whole family. I have done this dish so many times and each time its amazing! Barriguita Llena corazon contento ya tu sabe, mi esposo esta muy contento!! 🤣....I am definitely going to try every dish on your channel.
@@Chefzeecooks wow, the beach. That's a true Dominican tradition. I remember that, and my mom would actually add triangle fried salami/salchichon. 💝💝💕💕
I'm an Italian-American from Jersey who happens to love me some spaghetti prepared this way, especially whenever there's some salami or Vienna sausages thrown into the mix, not to mention an ice cold 2 liter bottle of Red Rock Merengue in the fridge. Dominican style lasagna is really delicious as well. Unsolicited testimonial...✌🏻
@Joseph Dobrozsi The Asians, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese & Thai have been finessing "Spaghetti"noodles since the beginning of time! Every culture has a noodle dish, even the Arabs.
We also add chunks of meat to the skillet before the onions and garlic.. It could be chicken stripes, pork belly, jam, any sausage you like.. Or you can add all of them 😅! It's a very easy to combine dish in Dominican Republic
I’m Colombian and my partner is Dominican. This is on today’s menu. Love all your recipes. Makes my blended family very happy. To be able to make Colombian and Dominican food is amazing.
Looks fantastic! Nothing worse than making red sauce and it being scarce and not saucy enough. We use evaporated milk in sauces too, here in Greece, sometimes. My only note is, try frying the tomato paste in the oil for a couple minutes, before adding the tomato sauce. Brings out some great flavor. And a suggestion: try adding some oregano and cinnamon to the sauce! They add some great aroma.
I have great memories of my mom teaching me how to cook this same dish the only difference is that she used capers instead of olives. Yummy!! Thanks for sharing!
Chef Zee, girl you are coming thru! The more videos I watch, the more I'm learning, lol! There was only one Dominican restaurant in my small town, which is now closed. So thanks to you, I can make the food I've missed! Yes, I'm Haitian & we have great food as well, but I've never been close-minded about great food. I just can't see enclosing myself in a box & not trying the deliciousness from different cultures, it would be such a shame! Keep up the good work! :-)
Thanks love! So happy that you like the videos. Shout out to Haiti. Here on my channel, I like to celebrate all cultures especially my fellow Caribbeans. There are so many similarities between Haitian and Dominican Food that it only makes sense to celebrate it!!! On another note... one of my favorite Haitian foods is The Black Rice! Omg! I eat the whole pot by myself! Lol
Hola, quisiera saber que se le puede hechar a este spaghetti? Algunos en los comentarios mencionaron salami. Mi esposo va a querer algun tipo de carne con esto. Gracias.
THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH! My mom used to make this spaghetti for me growing up and she passed away 13 years ago. I have tried before to make her spaghetti but it never came out like hers. Your recipe is amazing and came out just like hers! Thank you again and god bless! Huge fan!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
When you say "starchy water", it's literally just the water you boiled the pasta in? Or did you add something more to the water? Also, do you add salt to the pasta when boiling, or does all the flavor come from the sauce you've prepared?
So good!!! I made it tonight for dinner and my Domincan Hubby wanted 3rds. I did add fresh oregano from our garden. And I served it with white rice and beans on the side. Thank you so much!!!!!
I'm so jealous!!!! I'm still waiting for the oregano in our garden to grow some more. I know it had to have been DELICIOUS! Thanks for watching and trying the recipe :)
Chef Zee Cooks You're so welcome!!! We started our garden in one of our spare bedrooms. We used growing lamps and all. I'm sure your oregano will be awesome!

Thank You Chef Zee for sharing your recipes. Can you please make a video of spaghetti with Chicken?. Thanks for your time and teaching us your secrets.
I am Italian, Ive never cooked spaghetti like this but my husband is Dominican. I want to surprise him with this dish tonight, what kind of meat goes with?
You can serve this with chicken or salami. Those are two meats (if any) that we typically pair this with along with some tostones... which, I know-- starch on starch lol
My husband is Dominican and he loves this. Since i dont want to poison him with my bad cooking, soy una gringa lol, ive come to check your recipes, they are all fabulous. Gracias para compartir eso. Xo
I am so happy I stumbled across this recipe! I have tried a few of your recipes and all have been a hit. Keep them coming. Update: i tried it. I added a bit extra of the evaporated milk because the amount u added just seemed a bit more than the recipe. I had to add a tad bit of bouillon. Otherwise pretty good.
I want to thank you for making this video. You really change my life. I’m dominican and born in America married to a military soldier stationed in Korea. Thanks so much I learned a lot.
Me encanta los spaghetti dominicano acompanado with white rice. Pero porque haces el video en Ingles y lo termina en espanol. Hay mucha gente que no saben Ingles.
Where was the spaghetti while you were making the sauce !?!?! Was it sitting in that bowl. Must have been if you used pasta water in the middle of making the sauce. Sitting there getting overcooked (Auugghh !) Now listen, you don't start making the pasta until the sauce is almost done. THEN you can add the water to the sauce. THEN you toss the pasta into the sauce and you get perfect pasta with sauce al dente, and not mushy. I know Latins like overcooked pasta (my stepfather sure did), but try it al dente and see how you like it . BTW, however you made it, I would eat it.; no sweat !
Soo good! Made it tonight sub the leche with creme france because its what I had and added veggies! Its amazing and soo simple thank you for the sugar trick its truly made a difference!
Hi Chef Zee! I'm new to your channel and just finished watching your spaghetti video. Definitely going to try it. I had a question, why did you use tomato sauce instead of spaghetti sauce? Thanks shout out from Queens, NY.
Hey thanks for watching! I used to tomato sauce because it has much more simpler flavor than spaghetti sauce. Spaghetti sauce usually come pre-flavored and I wanted my seasonings to shine a bit more lol
I looove dominican spaghetti. I ate it at my teacher’s home and it was sooo good with platanos. I wish to make this but I don’t have all the ingredients here where I live. 😢
Awesome!!!! I been wanting to know how to make it for my husband. He'll be happy tonight 😁 btw I just made the chicken empanadas and everyone loved it!!!! Thank you for sharing your amazing recipes!! I do have a question, would it be weird if I used a different shaped pasta? Only cause my 2 yr old is picky with pasta lol
Thanks for trying the recipe!!! You can use whatever shaped pasta you like :) I personally love Rigatoni so I'm always swapping out the noodles for other pasta lol Hope you like!

@Joseph Dobrozsi yes, Dominicans love Italian food, spaghetti is a staple and lasagnas on every holiday and special occasions.

Leonor Cabral what kind of jam?
Boo Yah I think she meant to say ham, we typically cube it and add it in, that or dominican salami mmmmmm
Young Surf Angler o ok! I was like Whatttt lol
I add sofrito, sazon & tons of vegetables with a splash of vinegar! I love this pasta dish its so versatile, delicious & healthy
Agreed. I need to try it with sofrito!
Mmm good suggestions 🤔 what kind of vegetables 😏
yeas i've grown up with sofrito in my spaghetti my kids love it too ❤
I grew up on this 🤣🤣🤣 love this. My mom always made this when we were running low on food. Though she made it without the evaporated milk
Same. This dish held us down growing up! Lol I add just a tiny bit of milk. I don’t like it too too creamy

That looks really great! I love a creamy tomato-based sauce, so this sounds terrific.
It is. My step-dad and I ate the whole entire pot lol
