i gotta say - one thing i love about laura is she will do everything in her power to fix the problem on her end when it comes to her cat peeing in the house. so many people would just drop their cat off at a shelter and move on with their life. a cat peeing on your stuff is enough to drive anyone crazy. she rides for that cat and i really respect that.
I’d be getting them an Uber to the shelter see ya bye!

Can I just say? I admit that I had bias on how I felt about you guys before during the whole drama fiasco. And now, here I am, subscribed and enjoying the podcasts you guys have posted. I love the rawness; despite you guys being in a completely different world than me, an average 9-5 not so big on makeup type of person, I can still relate to you guys and how you guys interact. Yes manny! You don’t need to have a partner to be happy! I also don’t like when people make you feel bad for being single and they pretend that they’re coming from a good place because most of the time, they’re not at least for me I went through that a lot with people
I agree completely I was very happy by myself before my husband. Yes I’ve been married 31 years but if something ever happened to him I know eventually after I lifted myself off my bed the next year I would be very happy alone.

36:08 - 37:00 SAY IT AGAIN MANNY! i've been single most of my life and although a relationship is a great thing i can say some of my happiest and most fulfilling times of my life were when i was single. i think alot of people felt sorry bc i was single but i was already so contented on my own i never found the presence of a partner to be the make or break my existence - alot of people cant understand that
The short term trip is definitely unpopular. I love my home but I can’t really arrive and feel immersed at another place when I am not there for at least a week. I like to get a feel for everyday life there. Also I like to be on the road for some time. switching it up every other day and having adventures 😊
This was my favorite episode!! A second one for sure. Unpopular opinion - after you turn 18, there is no need to have a relationship with anyone just because they are in your blood line. No mater if they don't see themselves as or are not conventionally "abusive or toxic" if they make you feel awful, unworthy, gaslit, or invalidated, or like you're the worst version of yourself, If they do not align or accept you with your values and morals that's a good enough reason to dip. If you don't like how you feel around them, honey there's no lie bye bye bye. You do not need to live below 100% for anyone. You deserve unconditional love unconditionally, even when you are not at that 100% because no one is 100% of the time.
Thank you Manny for saying you don’t need to drink to have fun. I come from a family of addiction, and even though I don’t struggle with addiction, I choose to not drink daily, or weekly, but rarely. People can be very hurtful when you don’t comply/ participate with how they choose to live their lives.

it’s soooo weird. it’s like if my lack of relationship with alcohol makes you feel some type of way about your alcohol consumption, that’s between you and yourself. let me live my life 🤣
Same here, I hate how judgey people because I don't drink. I don't enjoy it, but I don't judge them for doing it! However, I do hold a grudge against some of my friends and family because my husband used to be a non-drinker as well and he was pressured so much, he ended up doing it and it woke his inner alcoholic. Now he has struggled to quit for over 10 years.
Literally same it’s so annoying! I have fallen under the pressure many times and every time I would I always regretted it. I’ve learned my lesson though
I relate to what Laura said about being sad if you don’t have something to look forward to. I have that same thing! I just never knew how to describe it.

Manny, you are right! I have never had alcohol, but I go out with my friends who do drink. It is hard for people to understand, and I have had people who I just meet try to pressure me into drinking. That makes me think poorly of them because they feel the need to make you do this thing you choose not to do. It is also sad that people think they can only have fun when they are drinking. You can choose to have fun just being yourself. I appreciate seeing someone online who is like me with alcohol.
As a college student I relate to the drinking thing so much. I never drink as a college student when I go out and people think it’s so weird. But I’m always sober when I go out.
Honestly, I think the people who want to vacation for over 4 days need, and can, just forget "home". I couldn't, I'm with y'all. I'm definately more of a homebody and need the routine

i absolutely loveeeed this episode! speaking your truth & reminding people to STOP TAKING EVERYTHING SO PERSONAL! i think when people takes something personal it means they have that issue inside. or when people talk badly about others, it’s obviously something inside of themselves they either don’t like or want. if that makes sense. maybe that’s an unpopular opinion but whatever 🤷🏻♀️
Laura!! I feel you on the cat pee nightmare. My cat is like that but not as bad. I’m SURE you’ve tried everything but one thing that surprisingly made him stop was putting him on anti-anxiety medication. I never thought he had anxiety but it helped!
Laura not liking friends is the equivalent of me not liking Dr Pepper but i still love her & we’re friends in my mind😂❤️

Yeah I’m sober now and my friend gets disappointed every time I don’t drink when we are out. Like I’ve told her I’m sober and she still judges it’s annoying 😅

Also, I'm literally just commenting as we go but MANNY THANK YOU!!! I cannot stand making alcohol your personality. I am completely sober and I feel like I can have an amazing time without having to have alcohol. I truly don't understand. It truly is ap poison and it can ruin lives.
Omg totally agree about not needing to drink to have fun! I'm Filipino and I get theeeeee worstttttt asian glow. I'm talking whole body is red and hot, eyes are bloodshot like I've been smoking for the last 12 hours, head is pounding like my heartbeat is on an amp in my brain after just 1-2 drinks! It's not fun for me so I prefer to just not drink at all instead of forcing myself to "blend in". I've been asked a billion questions ranging from "are you sick?" to "are you Mormon?" or straight up "well that's boring". It's so weird to me and straight up rude. Like if we go to a steakhouse and you order salmon or lobster why would I make fun of you or ask you why you want to have anything other than steak. I may not drink but I still wanna go to clubs because I love to dance and be out with my friends and just be surrounded by happy people!

On the traveling for more than four days note. I understand missing your home, but I also went to to Italy and was there for 8 days and felt it wasn’t enough, there was so much more i wanted to see and experience. It also comes down to the fact I may not ever get the chance to go again. So I think that also plays a role, if I was able to go on a trip whenever and spend the money anytime than maybe that would be me too lol

The drinking one I so relate to. I stopped a few years ago. It really feels like unless you have an allergy or are an alcoholic people will hardcore pressure you. When first of all I don’t even need to tell you why I don’t drink. I just don’t. I just try to remind myself that it’s clearly an insecurity of theirs & has nothing to do with me.

I'm with you, Manny, on the not needing to drink! I feel seen! I literally get sleepy and/or a headache from half of a drink (my mom says she's allergic btw, no idea if I am too), and especially if I'm just hanging out and drinking, I WILL fall asleep. I'd rather just not, and I have just as much fun as everyone else.

Omgg Manny & Laura you’re both such an inspiration!! Times are soo different when it comes to the club/party scene. Ive never been a partier nor a drinker but ALWAYS had to find excuses not to go entirely. don’t get me wrong I love my upscale lightly dimmed lounges with all the mimosas, rum&coke, margaritas, etc etc WITH MODERATION! I’ve been saying it for yeeaarrrsss that you don’t need to have a drink to have a good time and for some reason I’d get DRAGGEDD
Flash forward now to 23 years old, not only do I have my life together with a job that I love, happily dating and thriving, but also understand who my real friends are compared to those who just sit on their ass day in and day out because they’re too hungover to actually take initiative and accountability for their actions🤷♀️

“Sitcom” just means “situational comedy” where each episode has a new comedic situation that the characters are in. It doesn’t mean the show needs to have a laugh track. The Office is definitely a sitcom, and Parks and Rec and 30 Rock are also sitcoms.
My unpopular opinion is that just cause they're family doesn't mean you can't cut them off.
