Quick questions, because i want to buy them all, but im not entirely sure if i should do that or just make a raspberry pi build with a 3d printed case. The Nes is not really problematic, as the games are very small, but the library of games available is quite extensive. 250 mb is quite restrictive. So you can actually plug an usb on the back with all the games? So technically you can have all the respective libraries of the games? And what about the cables? I saw in the reviews that the cables are too short. Any way around them? wireless would be perfect. Can it be done?
I've been having issues kick starting the Kernel. I start the Kernel Click Install click OK to begin and when ask to follow the steps to connect the SNES to the laptop I follow the steps instructed. Second I continue to hold the reset button until I see any blinking lights but nothing happens for over 10 mins. Am missing something? I'm using the original cable so it should have the data line and I tried different cable as still nothing.

Have you had any luck with the Xmen arcade game? I've seen both a 2p and a 4p version. I try running mame2003 with 2p version, but it runs so choppy. Trying to figure out how to get it to run really smooth. For some reason, the 4p version runs a little better but it's still not that easy to play (there's input lag as well).
Can you help me with this problem? On my SNES mini I can easily load and run SNES and NES games, but I can't figure out how to play PS1 games... I think the problem is on the bios files, and I almost tried it all... put the .bin files into the folder, use the tool to install custom bios, drag and drop into the hakchi app.. nothing work, if I load a PS1 game there's nothing but a black screen for a couple of seconds.. I have installed all the required mods too... Am I miss something? Thank you! 🙏
Hi, can you please help me? I just started modding my mini NES with Hakchi 3.8 So far...so good. I've added NES Games and I've starting to add SNES games. I'm bringing them to Hakchi as Zip files and that's ok. But I'm not seeing a title on top of the list of games for SNES like I see with NES Games and Original Games and New Apps. Why am I not seeing anything for the SNES Games? Also, do I do the same for Sega Mega Drive games? Do I just slide them over as zip files? Please help.
I have a new MacBook pro and I'm trying to add games via virtual box + Windows 10 - But I'm using a generic USB (not the one it came with) and because I have a new computer that only has a USB-A port I'm using a USB-C adaptor (Adaptor plugged into the computer and USB plugged into adaptor and console). I'm not getting the prompt after the Kernal to put the console in FEL mode. Could it be the USB-C adaptor? or the fact that I'm using a generic USB sync/charge cable?
No idea what I'm doing wrong but I can't get past the part where you hold the reset button with the power on and then plug it in. It doesn't do anything. Not sure what else to do
I’m having trouble getting Secret of Evermore and Wario’s Woods to run on mine. I tried changing the preset ID and it doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?
you flashed the custom kernal (which had no added games yet)... I already have the desired games on Hakchi2... do I have to unselect the games I want to add and flash the original kernal first??... I also intend to deselect 3 of the original games and add patched versions instead... so just unselecting those 3 originals during the process of adding games should hide those original 3 right?
Seems to just be a tutorial, but doesn't address any of the many issues that can pop up. For me, where the hell do you get the games list. He says he already has a snes folder set up but doesn't say how he did that, where he got them, nothing.
I am wondering if there is a different procedure to get into the proper mode for updating the kernel as I have a super mini sn-02 which is probably a famiclone type of device... I connect it to my pc and it can't seem to read it when I try to install the kernel to it. thanks.

Hi, I bought a SNES Mini that came already modded, and I've noticed that some of the additional games on it have incorrect artwork and names. Is there a way I can edit them without reloading a custom kernel, and connecting my laptop to the console since I don't have an adaptor?
@@Dwchface yes you need to buy an adapter. I found a few on Amazon. I think I got a two pack for like $20. Just make sure before you buy it that it’s capable of power and data. It will specify. All will allow data but not all will also do power. Be aware of that. Also I found that the mini was unable to power itself, a USB stick and the wireless controllers. It just crashed and restarted every time I tried. Your going to have to use the short cords or get cord extensions. I found those on Amazon as well. Good luck and happy gaming.
@@danielsheehan2532 Thanks for the reply but I still don't get how a simple OTG adapter (I assume that's what you mean) solves the issue if all it seems to do is convert full-size USB-A to micro-USB. If I'm not mistaken you would need two things plugged into the one port on the back of the console. So the adapter would need to be a female USB-A (for the USB stick) *and* female micro-USB (for the power supply) to male micro-USB (to plug into console)? That's a very specific adapter! Is this what you mean?
@@Dwchface yep you’re right. The adapter plugs into your system and then “Y’s” out giving you a spot to plug in your USB stick and your power cord. This is the one I bought. @@danielsheehan2532 This is very helpful, thanks so much! I figured it would be something like this, and I actually looked at this exact listing earlier (also on the "dot-CA" version 😉🇨🇦) but I guess I glanced and moved on because it appears to "Y" out from the wrong plug, visually at least. I forgot that the one female plug needs power from the other one first so I expected the stem of the Y to be the male micro as both streams of data/power end up in that one. This one appears to have the "flow" going from the female micro to the female A first, then "doubling back" up to the male micro, which makes sense for its specific intended usage. If any of that makes sense 😄 Glad it works for ya, but I'm thinking I probably don't need every game ever so I'll just hope I can get away with the mini's internal storage. @@Restalgia sweet thanks. I did my nes and accidentally erased all the previous games, but my kids didnt play half of them anyway. Was able to add some cool ones. I used vimms layer for games is there a better site for roms?
I keep getting stuck with this. Every time it tries to reboot my system it says the mini is taking too long to reboot and stops the whole thing. It says the firewall is the problem and I should make the exception for hackchi in the firewall or turn it off. I did both of those, and its still saying its taking too long to reboot and stopping the process. I can't figure out how to fix it
Turn off windows defender
@@Restalgia I did. It still didn't fix it
It does the samething on my computer
same problem here
Did anyone got a fix on this?
Quick questions, because i want to buy them all, but im not entirely sure if i should do that or just make a raspberry pi build with a 3d printed case.
The Nes is not really problematic, as the games are very small, but the library of games available is quite extensive. 250 mb is quite restrictive.
So you can actually plug an usb on the back with all the games? So technically you can have all the respective libraries of the games?
And what about the cables? I saw in the reviews that the cables are too short. Any way around them? wireless would be perfect. Can it be done?
Great stuff! Do you have a separate video on how to add cheats?
Worked like a charm! Thank you!!
I'm getting an "Error: Can't Open Device" message. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try a different cable. Some USB cables are only for power, not data.
same
if your getting that error i bet its a china reproduction (fake) . other words cant be modded
@@jaredklymok2719 Thanks
yeah mine ended up being fake. fortunately I also had bought a Nintendo classic mini and was able to add snes games to it
I've been having issues kick starting the Kernel. I start the Kernel Click Install click OK to begin and when ask to follow the steps to connect the SNES to the laptop I follow the steps instructed. But I'm not sure once I'm holding the RESET button and plug in the cable if the SNEW light suppose to be On or OFF? cause on my system the light is off when plugged in. Second I continue to hold the reset button until I see any blinking lights but nothing happens for over 10 mins. Am missing something?
I'm using the original cable so it should have the data line and I tried different cable as still nothing.
I modded my snes classic but I haven’t used it in like a year. I would like to factory reset it before I try the newest mods. Any way to factory reset?
I get a error msg sometimes when im in the main menu but i just press the restart button and its fine, anyone else have that problem where some error msg pops up? Must've done something wrong through hackchi. Can someone tell me or provide a link to the equipment i'll need to have the entire snes usa library fit on my snes classic???
Why isn’t there a Mac version?
There ya go pal, subbed 👍
I don't get any games when I click on "Add more games" you just skipped that step because you we're already prelocated in that folder, can anybody please guide me.?
If I'm understanding you correct, when you click Add More Games, you then go to the folder where you have your ROM's at.
I'm Having Problems Too
Same everyone talks about Hackchi but they never explain where to get the roms from
@@nnnnnnnp because it is illegal.
Hey Steve, many questions. You didn’t show anything about what OTG to get or how it works or how it’s plugged in. You also said pre-formatted USB but didn’t say what those settings were. How is all of that done???
It's pretty easy. I've modded mine a handful of times and I'm not computer savvy AT ALL. So many good games for the SNES. Definitely get E.V.O.! I've started playing it recently and it sick! Lol good luck, guys.
E.V.O is such a dope game and a must play.
@@Restalgia I 100% agree! Happy 4th!
Where did you get your roms from
Have you had any luck with the Xmen arcade game? I've seen both a 2p and a 4p version. I try running mame2003 with 2p version, but it runs so choppy. Trying to figure out how to get it to run really smooth. For some reason, the 4p version runs a little better but it's still not that easy to play (there's input lag as well).
Nice. Only really wanted to add some SNES ROMS but this is very straight forward/
Same question
Not sure what else to do
Can you use different versions of hackchi2 on the same console multiple times?
I noticed you only hooked up one cable to the back of the super NES which cable was that which one doesn't get connected
my snes classic only has one mini USB on the back...how do you use the USB drive while plugging in the power?!
As he said, a cord you can buy. An otg adapter I believe. You will need to make sure you take the steps to make sure your snes mini will accept it.
WATCH THE VIDEO.....
Does it auto back up your snes mini? or you have to do manually and how? thanks
thanks for the video. quick question. once i install the roms onto my mini do i need to keep the files on my computer or can i delete them?
I’m having trouble getting Secret of Evermore and Wario’s Woods to run on mine. I tried changing the preset ID and it doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?
Would I be able to do this on my Macbook Pro?
you flashed the custom kernal (which had no added games yet)... I already have the desired games on Hakchi2... do I have to unselect the games I want to add and flash the original kernal first??... I also intend to deselect 3 of the original games and add patched versions instead... so just unselecting those 3 originals during the process of adding games should hide those original 3 right?
So if I need to add more games or reinstall another kernel, do I just flash it or boot it from the kernels advanced menu?
My snes won't do the kernal part... Also i noticed mine says offline on the bottom left side
Same problem
Seems to just be a tutorial, but doesn't address any of the many issues that can pop up. For me, where the hell do you get the games list. He says he already has a snes folder set up but doesn't say how he did that, where he got them, nothing.
I am wondering if there is a different procedure to get into the proper mode for updating the kernel as I have a super mini sn-02 which is probably a famiclone type of device... I connect it to my pc and it can't seem to read it when I try to install the kernel to it. thanks.
Where did you go to download the SNES Rom?
from the internet
Very much a rookie
@@danielnewburn1128 Even rookies know what Google is.....
Sorry im new into this mod scene, so what did you say at 5:25 is you can plug usb drive into player 2 port?
Not on the snes classic but you can in the sega genesis mini. You need an OTG Adaptor for the snes/nes classic

Where do I find the roms for the games?
I cant seem to find where to go to add more games
What about BIOS files like for the FDS and swapping sides? I thought RA was supposed to automatically select (on NES mini) what core to use or has that changed from the earlier mods? Is there a way to know what games have to have the stock core switched without loading every game?
@restalgia how can I plug the USB with the games and the power cord to the system at the same time??? the system only has one outlet...
Fk my snes mini doesn’t want to connect to my laptop! I’m using the original usb cord that came with console. I did the steps of holding the reset and power on instructions too many times!! Help please!

I have easily followed all instructions in this well made video ready for when my snes mini arrives in a couple of days! the only thing i cant seem to find is add more games? i can find the original games fine but where do you get all the extra roms from and how do you add them?
trying to mod my classic mini everything went well until I tried to add more games and it wont show me the list that you have on this video. tried to search for the game files but cant find it. help?
Same. Did you ever figure it out?
@@luismercado1493 Hakchi doesn't provide the games. You have to download the ROMs separately.
I was about to say the same thing lol but yeah you gotta download the roms on your own
Great guide! Im not as computer savvy as i used to be so this helped a ton. Also is there a way to make it so games are full screen? The only way ive found is to change tv option to stretch but it makes it look really bad
Can you get fan roms this way too? I just want to play some Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger fan roms.
Do you know how to remove the little green info text that often appears in the top left corner of the screen when you start the various roms you've added? I'd rather they look like perfectly untouched versions of the games, and I don't care about some rom hacker telling me the rom version or their online tag or whatever.
Search for no intro ROMs I believe
When I click on add more games... where is the list of games?? I cant find any
You have to download the games...

I can’t get it to work it says on the installer driver box that nes not found sorry

excuse my ignorance, how do i plug a usb drive into my mini if i need the usb slot to power the mini?
This!! I can't believe this wasn't covered in the video, and nobody seems to want to answer this question in the comments. Did you get an answer?
I’ll admit it’s giving me a bit of trouble here and there so maybe try a different brand but this is what you’re looking for.

If any of that makes sense 😄
Glad it works for ya, but I'm thinking I probably don't need every game ever so I'll just hope I can get away with the mini's internal storage. Lol
And yeah, I've got the extension cords for the controllers. Got them before I even got the system because, as you can see, I do my homework! Thanks again bud, wish me luck and happy gaming 🤙🏻

Always been a great help in this scene. Thanks! Yet I'm still debating, worried about the refurbed controller quality. I wish they made a quality usb option
Seems to work well. I've received both my SNES and NES classic and I haven't tried the nes yet, but the SNES controller seems like the original and perfectly fine.
It works ok, I would say that the feel is not anywhere near the quality of modern controllers like ps4 or Xbox one but my kids have played this for hours and aren't gentle and its done fine
Quick question: Will I lose my existing saved games if i install the new kernel?
