Spent a good half a day with both of my sons on our way to a weekend at Cedar point...can't remember the year but the WHO were newly inducted just before we arrived! Will be forever be one of our greatest memories/ trips we've ever been on! Thanks for bringing back some great memories Joe!

Going back 40 plus years when we started the logging business, I worked for the University of Colorado in Boulder one snowy winter. The next summer the Stones came to town and I was a roadie for a week, setting up the stage and such. I had an army cargo net we used to cover the loads of wood coming down the mountain that the stage manager wanted to use on the side of the stage, I didn't know what for but loaned it to them. In the show, Mick climbed up it while singing "Satisfaction". I was off to the side of the stage and a buddy asked how well the net was secured to the framework. I just told him, "Well enough, I hope!" I found out later that Mick had climbed it late the night before while doing sound checks. Back than it wasn't unusual to see rock band members around town. A lot of them were a bit weird but not bad to be around. If you haven't been in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you should go, it's well worth a partial load of firewood!
Alot of people have to sell millions of records to get in the rock hall. Joe only needed to sell some firewood 😊😊😊

Awesome! I flew a CGS Hawk ultralight at the altitude of 300' over the spot you were parked. This was in 1996 for the Grand Opening of the Great Lakes Science Center. The promoter of the event contacted the owner of CGS Aviation, and he, in turn, asked a couple of Hawk owners to join in. I doubt that after 911, it will happen again. We staged out of Burke Lakefront Airport and even got a ride in a CLE PD helicopter. It was a fun experience!

So glad you and Becky made the decision to "go for it" in the firewood business!! I made a somewhat similar decision which did not work out in the food truck business. Then again if it had worked out I wouldn't made the friends I have in the firewood community...things happen for a reason. However, the best outcome of the video was to see a 'Trabi' (Trabant 601) hanging in the entrance hall. This was THE car of the GDR, which the majority of the East German families owned for decades. As a child, I also traveled in a Trabi when my mother had one.
When I remember right from one of your comments, you are going to Germany this year and also gonna visit Berlin? There is a specialized operator, offering guided sightseeing tours in a Trabi convoi, where you can drive the Trabi around Berlin yourself. Maybe that's something to consider for your trip? 😇

Im so happy i live in a state that uses no, or next to no salt.
Perfectly normal for me to see a 30 year old rust free daily driver on the road.
Cold weather states has their good and bad. Just like anywhere else!

We get cold, but not for extended periods of time, with the Pacific ocean.
I delivered inside the red zone for the Super Bowl, was pretty crazy having military helicopters flying over doing radiation tests before the big game while delivering!

Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I always enjoy your geography/history tours and lessons. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum / OWB tee-shirt would be super but I suspect you may infringe copyright laws since you were technically providing firewood to a vendor authorised by the museum. I wouldn't want to see you incarcerated in Alcatraz prison!

My parents were taught the 3R's in school in West Virginia. Reading, "Riting, and Route 250 to Ohio. When they married dad was in the Army and then moved to Ohio to work in the steel mills. We always said he was on his way to Cleveland but his old Ford broke down in the Mahoning Valley so they stayed there! lol

Hey Joe, I was just thinking of a possible neat idea. Wonder if you somehow got hooked up with Uber eats and or DoorDash to pick up and deliver your firewood while they’re on their routes. I don’t know how the transaction part of that would work, but it sounds like it could be pretty neat thing to explore.
