this is so much better played on a fortepiano, just like all keyboard music written at that time
Very plaesant video. Sound and musicality like my heart and all in excellent quality.
Splendid instrument.
The sound recording of the ambient is wonderful.
Stupendo, grazie Maestro

Bravissimi entrambi!
Great performance - and nice shirt
Beautiful
Interesting use of the damper pedal. And a beautiful looking instrument.
magnifico
❤👏💐❤👏💐❤👏💐
The last movement probably inspired Beethoven's earlier compositions. Beautiful interpretation by the way.
Not sure it sounds like Beethoven at all; published in 1776 Beethoven was a little boy so is therefore completely irrelevant - this sonata is quintessentially Haydnesque owing nothing to anyone except Haydn.
Thanks for your reply. I re-worded it so now it's clearer what I meant with my comment. I never stated that Haydn took ideas from Beethoven.

I get your point and I was not suggesting that you thought Haydn took ideas from Beethoven (though he did much later by writing genuine scherzi rather than speeded-up minuets for example); it was just that at the time of writing this b minor sonata, Beethoven was in no shape or form a reference point for Haydn.
Yes, in many different ways, Beethoven took a huge amount from Haydn - probably in terms of compositional technique, more than any other single composer; he then did his own thing in his own way.

Magnifica copia di Walter, suonata con maestria. Stilo , tempi e spirito giusti , bravo!
Very well played. I am somewhat partial to the modern pianos. This sounds like a modern piano with a touch of harpsichord thrown in for spice.
1. Allegro moderato 2. Minuet - trio (4:53) 3. Presto (8:12)
Chè bello il Walter!
Bom Dia, Amigos!
Hob XVI: 32
Haydn und Walter.... Perfetto!
