As a fellow dissertating grad student in her final year, I resonant with your post-election emotions so much. I study and write about feminism and religion in the 1950s-70s. My work is so personal and present right now which sucks, but I also believe in my work and believe it would be useful to be in the world. That's what is getting me through writing right now, and little treats!

Hi Sarah, Im gretchen from the Philippines. I (with 15 M people) experienced d same emotions in 2022 when the son of a dictator won as president in my country. I campaigned for his opponent (Leni robredo who later became Obama fellow.and harvard fellow). I also felt this anguish, worry fear and all other terrible emotions. This only means we love our country so much.. everything will not.be alright but not everything will be terrible. My only words to offer is from Leni Robredo: the election opened our eyes to the realities, let us not close our eyes and hearts again.
I'm very sorry for all of you in the US after this outcome of the election. It is unbelievable! Good luck with all of your job applications and your dissertation. I'm also writing my diss and it is hard! It is really good to follow your journey, it feels like we are buddies 🙂
Glad you were able to do an Indy day that looked great. I took the day off my job search on wednesday and just took a super long walk. It felt so necessary and impactful. I can offer some stellar Greece recs from my time on fellowships there during grad school, if that's a European destination you're potentially curious about.
I am right there with out on saving for a Europe trip! We've got this! And thank you for your reminders to grieve and process the national election because wtf was that. Sarah your city looks so beautiful in autumn. The rain at night was a complete vibe. You live in a beautiful city and outside vlogging deserves some more screen time with you in it. It will capture more audiences. Your friend is also very nice and I think your cat loves your friend.
