You did NOT ruin the episode! I'm just glad you are ok. I'm outside alot and I have happened upon a few gators. Not to this extreme. They blend into everything. You should research how to survive a gator attack because we all know you aren't gonna stay out of the swamp. I'm not either but I do, as do you, understand the risk. You must of barfed after all those fight or flight hormones! We are glad you are ok Tim. Thank you for your amazing videos and the milky way pictures too!
YIKES, i swear ive thought about the gators in every one of your swamp camera pickups, and again was just thinking to myself "i wonder if theres gators in the area". Glad your ok Tim!
yes he had one shot of a BIG gator waliking..in the past...... i love animals but i dont walk in woods without my 357 magnum single action. . not legal , catch me. someday he will vid a garor eating a human.
I am such a fan of Tim and all his trail cam picks. I get so much enjoyment from watching. Thank you so much for bring us along on your adventures. I love it.
So glad you're okay... there's no way I would be stomping around in that kind of a swamp. You are braver than me... I have to ask about the big cat on February 23rd who stopped right in the middle of the camera's View and took a potty break. For the next month-and-a-half you had all the animals stopping by to smell that same spot... From a family of raccoons to Bears to everything that went by. Must have been some strong stuff... Mark that territory! 😆
Wow, I've followed your trail camera episodes from the very beginning and loved them all. This one was a thriller, I've often wondered about alligators and cotton mouths with you rambling thru water all the time like you do. Now I know. My parents lived between the coast and Appalach River and I rambled and saw many of the same animals and many rattlesnakes and alligators. I'm an old lady now and live in N. Ga. but I still ramble and track animals. Lots of wildlife here also
Thanks Kathy. I've had my share of moccasin encounters. They scare me more than anything. The gators usually take off before I get near them. I can hear the bears coming through the bushes so I can hide behind a tree. :)
My wife and I are always at the edge of our seats watching you walk through the water. We don't relax until your on dry land. I can't imagine doing what you do. You a brave! I live in southeast North Carolina and I won't even walk to the edge of our swamp in summer. The gators have way to much energy this time of year. I don't trust them until December or even January if it's been a warm fall early winter. I saw them at Thanksgiving in a snowflury just hanging on the swamp edge. Please be safe you've become a friend through your videos.
Oh Tim! My heart was in my throat during this video. I have always worried about the snakes/gators as you trudge through the water. Stay careful mister--and hope you can get another tripod real soon.
Tim , Better the tripod the one of your legs. It's no fun in any shape , form or manner. Paddling the Okefenokee Swamp & about 8 miles from the boat ramp when we hit a submerged gator and he flipped the canoe. Bill and I were in water & mud with that gator. We could not touch bottom and eventually found a submerged log about 5 feet under the surface to support us. Fortunately the gator went away from us or so we assumed. About 15 minutes later some fisherman returning to the boat ramp found us and pulled us into their boat. They said something about we were the largest catch of their day when asked if they caught anything. lol
Thanks for sacrificing life and limb ( and overzealous law enforcement yokels) to bring us quality trail cam videos. You never cease to surprise! Thanks
Please take care. It's been a tough couple of years. I don't want to see the headline "Wildlife Photograph Eaten By Big-A$$ Gator" Seriously, your videos helped get me through the hardest days of the lock down & I'm still thrilled when I see you've posted a new one. I love the animals & the beautiful orchids & love you for sharing them with us.
Tim - I know how scary that can be. I grew up in Florida but live out West now. Couple years ago was trail running before sunrise and came right up to a cougar coming around a blind turn. Took me a long time to get comfortable again. Keep at it buddy!
We are ALL glad you survived the GATOR 🐊encounter. Sorry you lost the keychain flashlight from your sister. Took the time to thank retro51 for helping you out. Will keep an eye open for another keychain flashlight, if I find one, I'll send it to you. Keep doing what you DO 💛
Tim I have dreaded this day for you for a long time. I could feel your fright in the video. You are a very lucky person and I am so happy you are ok. If you decide to put cams in other places besides the swamp I will always watch. As our parks are public I see no reason why they can tell you not to put your cams out. But whatever you do I will always be your fan and watch your videos. God Bless
OMIGOSH, Tim!!! I’ve always been afraid for your safety from alligators! I’ve trekked in Florida, and there’s all kinds of things that can harm you, but alligators are the worst. Thank goodness it was your tripod that took the beating and not you!! 😱

Good evening Tim Woa that was close glad you made it out safe brother. Always like seeing the wildlife ❤️ the panthers are always my favorite Take care Always my friend 🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wowza!! I've often wondered about gators while you're walking around in those swampy areas. This was absolutely frightening to watch; I cannot imagine being you. Excellent footage of flora and fauna!!! Keep it up and most of all STAY SAFE!!!
Wow, this is a fabulous video!!! The orchids take my breath away!!!! Thank you so much; I'd never be able to experience this kind of wonder without you, brilliant!!!!
Good and bad experience at the same time. You feel fearful but excited, something inexplicable that only those of us who like wildlife understand. I love your videos, I'm a recent follower.
OMG ! Tim im so glad yr ok from that alligator scare. U are Still the Bravest Guy Ever! I swear I dont see how u do it. Another Awesome Video. Thanks ! U sorta put yr life on the line for this one.
Glad you are okay. The tripod probably saved your life. Hope the government agencies don’t completely shot down all of your places to film. Love seeing your videos. I’m a paraplegic now and can’t get out in the woods like I used to. Your videos allow me to enjoy being in the woods once again. Thanks us much for your time and effort to bring them to us.
Yay!!! So excited to see you uploaded! These always make my day when I see them pop up in my feed. They never disappoint whether we get to see the wildlife or not! I love the saying it is not the destination it is the journey as that is so fitting for these videos. I truly enjoy watching your journey to getting the footage for us.
I’m glad you know what you’re doing in those area’s. Whew, your run-in with that blasted gator would call for some strong nerve tonic when you get back home. At least those surprise gator encounters are very, very rare for you. Thank you for your daring nature to do your work that we all can enjoy! Be safe Tim.
Oh Dear Lord Tim!!!! Thank God you're ok!!! I'm so sorry you had that experience. OMG ~ I can't even.... Outside of your harrowing experience, this was another great video. Those Ghost Orchids are Ah-Mazing. I never would have seen or known about them, if it weren't for you. Great mix of critters too. Please, take good care of you! You're the only Tim we have. xo
I really enjoy watching your videos i'm an avid outdoorsman in ga and I love seeing the black bears and especially the Panthers keep up the Awesome work

Your videos are awesome…I so appreciate the time you put in & the accounting for sites involved. Question… why do so many of the jaguars look so thin? They look like they are not getting enough nutrition. STAY SAFE. I hope a company comes through with a new tripod for you.
As you know, I’ve been watching and ‘thumbs upping’ you for years. That said, there’s hardly one that goes by that I don’t think that there’s a moccasin or gator with your name on it behind the next log. All that wildness , all that water, and all those critters adds up to the odds of a direct encounter being eminent, I should think. But I’ve also watched your channel long enough to tell you’re way more experienced than the average Joe off the street. You had yourself an official close-call, an exciting story, and a lesson for us all.
Tim, Tim, Tim. Thankful that you were able to walk away from that encounter. It’s always in the back of my mind when I slip around the Louisiana swamps. I’ll be even warier because of your experience. Dang things can go from good to bad really fast. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. It's all fun and games until it's not. I'm just hoping it was a reactionary strike. If he wanted me, he could have grabbed me it a second. I think him snapping down on the tripod didn't feel too good and he took off.
Great video, glad you are safe. I can only imagine how that felt. I don't know how you can walk in all that water knowing those gators are in there. Thank you for the production of another great video.
OMG! Tim, that's a wake-up call, honey! Watching you go through the water has scared me every time. It's not worth losing you! Please stop taking these chances with your life. God bless you, Tim. I'm so glad you got out of that.
Dang, Tim, I've lived in Florida almost my whole life & I won't walk in water deeper than my boots! I had just thought, "There could be gators in there. What does he do about gators?" and then, the scene changed and you were breathing hard!!! I wasn't even there and it startled the snot out of me! You are one tough ombre, man! Please stay safe! We really enjoy your videos!!
Tim so glad your angel was super vigilant that day. Your videos are such a bright spot in my day and I have just the utmost respect for you going out and doing what you do. Please stay safe.
Wow!!! I felt your anxiety!!! I don’t know if I could have walked out of there! They would find me up a tree which would be my new home because I couldn’t have moved!! Tim, are you related to the Harrells from Memphis Tn?
Back in the sixties during my Kodachrome days I never hiked through the swamps without my .357. Moccasins and gators were always a constant. My photo shoots traversed some scary areas. Be safe Tim and most importantly be wise. We enjoy what your are doing. God Bless!
Good lord man.. my heart was pounding too just watching it. You should send this to the tripod brand. Bet they would be very interested, might even send you a new one
Amazing as always. I thought the key chain was one of those floating ones. Omg Tim! Be safe. No way I could walk through that water! You didn't ruin the pickup! The bear scares me every time lol
That was more than scary! Another great video. It makes me mad that you can’t video in some areas of public land. I am old and no longer able to roam the woods, but if I were perfectly physically fit I couldn’t see the wildlife you capture with your cameras.
What a great company to give you that keychain!! Makes me want to visit their site and make a purchase! A great story to share. Why does law enforcement bully so much before hearing the story? OMG!!! Thank the powers that be you had that tripod! So much for the drama free stress free relaxing episode!! Bear sniffing the camera scared me!!😂 They're like 1 years olds. EVERYTHING has to be tasted.😂 Watching the ads Tim. Thank you for yet another great video. Please be careful, get another tripod and don't leave home without it!
Did the Deputy say that you violated any laws or statutes? Also, I am a little surprised this is your first encounter like that with an alligator. If you watch "Something Bit Me" on the Nat Geo channel, the episode "I Went Bonkers…" features a friend of mine bitten and sent to the hospital by a gator in the Corbett area.
Yikes. They did mention some statue number but I didn't pay much attention. They said you can't leave property unattended in the parks or affix anything to the trees.
WOW!! What close call, stay safe Tim. All these awesome animal videos are not worth your life, of course I'd miss them if you no longer did them but safety first. You might not have anything to worry about, with the damage he did to your tripod he may not have any teeth left. 😁
Glad you didn't get hurt. They move fast don't they. Had an experience or two myself. The lure fob you showed was a Heddon Red-Head Spook. You may be able to find them on line and just remove the hooks. The vintage ones are a bit pricey, but Heddon is still in business, I think. That was very nice to "give" you a replacement and good of you to "plug" their products...so to speak. We enjoy your videos. Sorry to hear you're getting a hassle from the state about the cameras. Not too sure why, though. If the FWC was thinking, seems they could use your videos, in specific areas to monitor wildlife health, abundance, and so forth.
Thank you Mike. I've used a few zara spooks in my day. FWC has always treated me right. They know I'm not the bad guy but they still have to enforce the rules.
Will you certainly make up for animals in this one? You had a very good variety you had to stripe. Skunk in there that had? I don't know what you call. What's the name of it is but little stripes? Not big ones. Thoroughly enjoyed this video thank you😊
That's pretty amazing how that bear circled back and mock charged the camera. Now getting back to important thing's am surprised that this is the first time you've had an encounter with a gator that tripod saved your life.
You did NOT ruin the episode! I'm just glad you are ok. I'm outside alot and I have happened upon a few gators. Not to this extreme. They blend into everything. Your a brave man Tim, and I can't believe the beauty of that land. It's spectacular footage 💯🙏
20:10 OMG!! 😱 That bear sneaking back around to get the camera made me jump!! 😱 As if the gator encounter wasn't enough. 😲
You gave me a heart attack. Be safe out there. The orchids look like little men in hats dancing. Beautiful.
Thanks Sue.
Whoooo! I think I'd leave that camera there from one dry season to the next. The heck with things I can't see underwater. Wow!

Even a wizard carries a walking stick
I'm glad you're okay. I would have been shaken up as well. I hope you have friends that can wet walk with you in the future.
WOW!! What close call, stay safe Tim. All these awesome animal videos are not worth your life, of course I'd miss them if you no longer did them but safety first. You might not have anything to worry about, with the damage he did to your tripod he may not have any teeth left. 😁
Thanks Patricia
Awesome to see the panthers and bears. Amazing that Florida still has the iconic animals in the face of all the development.
yes and state people better pay attention , where money involved, they find ways to rid wildlife. .
Glad you are okay Tim!
Thank you!
Some more awesome videos and a great story. I’m sure when you share this with the makers of your tripod they will be willing to give you one
😮 Wow Tim, That’s very scary!! Will let the ads run to replace that tripod. Take care and be safe!✌🏼
Thank you!
Will you certainly make up for animals in this one? You had a very good variety you had to stripe. Skunk in there that had? I don't know what you call. What's the name of it is but little stripes? Not big ones. Thoroughly enjoyed this video thank you😊

WowTim don’t know how you walk around in that swamp- close call there- love your vid’s Keep on doing what you are doing and can’t thank you enough!
That's pretty amazing how that bear circled back and mock charged the camera. Now getting back to important thing's am surprised that this is the first time you've had an encounter with a gator that tripod saved your life.
Thanks Samuel. I will keep that tripod in my trophy case. That was by far my closest call ever.
3:00 your trail cam totally soak in water.
How long it soak in water? And how about your camera? It still survive?
5:45 what the brand of camera?
That camera was under water for a couple weeks. It was a Browning Recon Force Extreme. It still worked after it dried out.
