My grandfather was a Colonel who built tanks for the Romanians through all of the Socialist Republics. Both of my Grandparents were registered members of the Communist Party and my Mother was the Communist Youth Party leader of a section in Sibiu, Transylvania. I can remember my mother telling me the story of when my grandfather was pulled over by the Securitate (Basically Romanian KGB) and asked him for his drivers license. My grandfather said "no" and then the Securitate agent was like "Do you know who I am?" and my grandfather replied, "You're a piece of shit with eyes." The Agent looked at his ID and saw his military rank and let him go. My mother was laughing all the way home.

"Te Slavim Romanie" sounds the best to me, but it's also the hardest one to sing. I wonder why it was replaced, they should have just changed the words again to suit the times.
You left out 'E Scris Pe Tricolor Unire' which was the national anthem for a short period (1975-77?) if my memory serves me correctly. Otherwise, this is a fantastic compilation!

Both of my Grandparents were registered members of the Communist Party and my Mother was the Communist Youth Party leader of a section in Sibiu, Transylvania. I can remember my mother telling me the story of when my grandfather was pulled over by the Securitate (Basically Romanian KGB) and asked him for his drivers license. My grandfather said "no" and then the Securitate agent was like "Do you know who I am?" and my grandfather replied, "You're a piece of shit with eyes." The Agent looked at his ID and saw his military rank and let him go. My mother was laughing all the way home.

"Te Slavim Romanie" sounds the best to me, but it's also the hardest one to sing. I wonder why it was replaced, they should have just changed the words again to suit the times.
You left out 'E Scris Pe Tricolor Unire' which was the national anthem for a short period (1975-77?) if my memory serves me correctly.
Otherwise, this is a fantastic compilation!
