I just stumbled across your video on St Gemma, so this comment is late. Frankly, l saw no evidence of discernment from you which is absolutely necessary when endeveavoring to grapple with the lives of holy men and women, in the flesh. What is especially egregious is the attitude that countless faithful Catholics have, that these HOLY ONES are completely free of any SPIRITUAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL confusion of self , ignorance blindness, et al. There is no question that Gemma was very holy, and that based on her responses to the extraordinary harsh challenges laid on her by her angel. I reject any possibility that "he" was a demon even though my view is purely subjective. A crucial thing to clearly see about her was that she was totally UNAWARE of, innocent of any psychological confusion she was caught in. She accepted without question that it was her Guardian Angel making these aggressive demands on her. I doubt very much if she ever questioned the veracity of the charges her GA laid against her. However, and this is my sincere impression, take it or leave it, that she had unresolved psychological issues about her own trustworthiness that were completely unjustified and which, ultimately there is no clear line between her guardian angels rebukes and her own interior torments which she unwittingly projected onto her GA which she would literally have heard them coming from the lips of her GA. so she was not completely free of all the distortions and burdens caused by Original Sin. She had no psychological self understanding since this was prior to Freud and the various psychological fields that have seduced Western societies and let's face it this broadside has captivated the Catholic Church often overshadowing the profound spiritual understanding the church has been given by the Holy Spirit of fallen human nature, over many centuries. This young women was holy, and her sweet innocence touched me deeply when I first stumbled across her life some years ago. God bless
There is also the fact that she was given a very special grace to see and speak to her guardian angel in a two way conversation and also to Jesus. This gift is a very big responsibility so of course he was strict with her, she could actually hear Jesus’ commands through her angel and from him directly. On one hand it’s amazing because of the fact she could see her angel, the curse was the amount of shame she could see her angel put off on her when she sinned, even venial. With huge great power comes great responsibility is the lesson I call to from these accounts.
Honestly we don't know. A lot didn't have the same experience as Gemma. God gave us the best gardian for our spiritual needs. They have their own personnality. I probably couldn't have stand Gemma's angel without great difficulty but she could and was happy of it.

I’ve read and listened to much of Saint Gemma’s life. Father Germanus her Spiritual Director, believed in Gemma’s holiness. Jesus loved Gemma very much, she becoming His bride. Yes at times her Angel was angry. In the end Gemma gave all to Jesus. Oh yes Gemma had a mind of her own. Debating Jesus over a sinner. Getting the Blessed Mother to hep her win. I love St. Gemma, my patron Saint and friend for several years. After returning to the Church over 60# years away🙏
I love St Gemma as well! Earlier this year, I downloaded onto my Kindle the book The Diary of St Gemma Galgani (where this video creator was reading from) and read it in less than a week! That book is the only one I can find in the Kindle library. If you recommend another book on St Gemma, would you please let me know the title? I would love to read more about her. Thank you!!
@@BetsysMama Hi, if you haven’t read the Life of Saint Gemma Galgani, written by Gemma’s spiritual director in 1910. That’s a great book. There are pamphlets on her letters to FR Germanus. A book written recently by professors from Chicago university. But the life of st Gemma is super.
Thank you. It turns out I actually already had that particular book downloaded on my phone! 😂 I’m intending to get stuck into it as soon as I’ve finished my current book. As I mentioned, I just love St Gemma. St Teresa of Avila is also amazing and so is St Catherine of Siena. What happens is, you feel drawn to certain saints, and then you start reading about them and then you cannot help but absolutely love them and want to read more and more about them! They become the truest of friends.

Not one that died hundreds of years ago, and can’t feel for them like Gemma, even though she died 100 years ago. She left us a wealth of memories we can identify with. PS. 😂. Padre Pio said of St. Gemma she is a Great Saint. And when he talked about her with his fellow priests, he had tears in his eyes. You will learn much about her. Just google Padre Pio & St Gemma.

It’s deception from the enemy, please understand that this is not from God. Trust only in Jesus for your salvation and not in anything else. That is what the deception is all about. Making it seem like our actions play a part in our salvation. It’s a lie getting many people to hell. Ofcourse keep the commandments is something we should do out of obedience. But it has nothing to do with getting you saved, if you trust Christ you’re saved.

This is a very strange story, in fact terrifying.. This could not have been a Guardian angel ..sounds more like hallucinations or possession of the evil one. There is no light, only darkness

Maybe she should have replied, "Angel, you may keep your harsh words and looks. It is I who am much disappointed in you! Has not The Savior told us that whoever is angry with his neighbor has committed murder in his own heart? Well, then, what sort of murderer is this, who claims to have been sent by the infinitely merciful, forgiving, loving, patient God, to guide me Himward?" Maybe.
Surprising but it is also rather grating. For example in direct profound contrast to saints elsewhere. Pio for example reminded his guardian angel that he was a Prince of Heaven and the angel better buck up his ideas! The point being the angel has celestial powers but cannot use these against its charge, free will etc. Gods angels can only act in true compassion and love not in anger or displeasure. One is surprised she tolerated the angels coldness, but perhaps that was the measure of the times? Today, it is most unlikely that such cruel to be kind actions would be allowed! Mercy! Mercy! Mercy!

She had problem to sleep because she focused on her angel. Her vision disappeared so she could sleep.

Read Ephesians 4:26. No wonder your angel doesn't show himself to you.
