What I like about Bayleigh is how she fought for her game at key moments, keeping herself off the block with executive veto by ensuring Tola was not vetoed, making sure Lexus hit the block of Todd in the double and she had a strong jury speech as well.

I don't feel bad for Vivek, sorry. For someone to turn on his best friend who saved him from eviction the week before is so evil and so slimy. No one forced him to do anything. He's just a pick-me who dumps his friends to be with "the cool kids". Even in post-interviews, he was saying he didn't regret the move. Him getting sniped the week after was poetic justice.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I was overjoyed at his downfall. Truely instant karma that was well deserved. On the other hand he was a minnow swimming among sharks. He’s socially stunted and the other players played to his naivety. It was a bit sad to see how willing he is to drop a friend just to fit in with the “cool kids”. I feel like he doesn’t really have any real friends in the real world because no normal person would do what he did. It was just sad.

I don’t know if this is a hot take but Avery annoyed me so bad this entire season. Whether it was the constant baby talk or being unable to have a single original thought the entire season. They defaulted to doing everything Spicy told them to do, even in the JURY HOUSE. It’s honestly embarrassing to me and out of everybody on this cast, the biggest dud was Avery and I don’t think it’s close to me

A lot of the comments I read on this video talk about Anthony being robbed, but what should REALLY be discussed is that Bayleigh was rightfully rewarded for her gameplay and social manuver starting as early as the final 12. When you go on a show with people who you've never met, it's important to understand that in the end, the people who are on the jury will vote for the person who plays the game the best, and they will ALSO take into account your behavior and how you've treated them. All season, from what I saw, Anthony was condescending to women, entitled, got handed the first HOH, doesn't know how to handle situations when he does have power (literally all 3 HOH's are failures) and then on top of that, underestimates who strong women are and tries to use a story about his personal life at the finale which does not have anything to do with gameplay, and further proves how he's going to copout and try to pick at people's emotions for a vote.
Contrasted with Bayleigh who was completely honest with her answers, wiped the floor, and had time to go back and further detail her gameplay the entire season without needing to include filler or moves that are irrelevant. She doesn't need to lie or play a dirty game, and people respect that about her, and so would I. Especially when you take into account that when men lie and play with deceit, most of the time they're praised for doing so, but when a woman does it, she's labeled as fake, manipulative, or the "B*."
Winning with SIX votes, Anthony has only received one jury vote his entire career, and he's clearly not perfect or deserving in any aspect you could think of. Mind you, the jury probably already had their mind up, but they prioritized Bayleigh over both Anthony AND Lexus because her gameplay was strong, consistent, and they wanted to see her win not only because of the hardships she went through at the start, but primarily because of her impressive gameplay throughout. I hope for the delusional Anthony fans out there who see this that you should stop praising bad/sloppy gameplay (mostly jury management) and appreciate how people can win with a little more integrity. Big Brother is not just about backstabbing and lying to people to get what you want, it's also about treating people with decency, and Bayleigh did so, and rightfully earned every vote she got, and she is the rightful winner of the season in my eyes.

I just find it so ironic how the so much of the jury, particularly the hot chocolate women in Victoria, Avery, and Kayla were preaching loyalty and how wrong it was to backstab your allies when they were literally the most disloyal players this entire season. Avery had two HOHs where she took out two of her closest allies outside of Victoria, Kayla was throwing Bayleigh under the bus despite making it appear like she was loyal to her, and Victoria was playing all of the women so she could then go to Final 2 with Anthony, yet STILL made actions to ruin Anthony’s position.
If anything, the people who weren’t on their moral high horse in the jury, like Elijah and Todd, were some of the most loyal players this season and we didn’t even see them caring about loyalty that much.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with Bayleigh’s win with how unorthodox her journey to the victory was considering her very shaky beginning, but it’s just so infuriating seeing how some of the jury conducted themselves.

Yay! The review is up! I was expecting this, like, near next week Thursday or Friday. :P Impressive editing time.
While I do think this was an overall good season of Big Brother Canada, I do admit it has its faults. But I do think Anthony and Victoria WERE truly needed for this season to be as interesting as it was.
Now, as for Anthony’s loss…I wanted him to lose, lol. But let’s unpack why I think Anthony lost again. I really think it was misguided of Anthony to target Victoria at Final 5. I think he should have tried to go for Bayleigh and Todd in that round. Because putting up Lexus and Victoria, it makes it look like Bayleigh is manipulating Anthony. But besides that issue, going to Final 4, Anthony was clearly the target. Had Todd or Bayleigh won that veto and not Lexus or himself, Anthony would have been screwed. I think he should have brought Victoria to Final 4 to be the shield Bayleigh and Todd HAD to get rid of in order win the game. And while sure, it’s a risk because Spicy could have won either HoH or the Veto, I do think it was misguided for Anthony to target Spicy himself.
But even if Anthony truly NEEDED to take the shot at Victoria…I don’t agree with the notion that she is ALWAYS going to be bitter at the person who gets her out. I think Anthony needed to spend the week hyping Spicy up, praising her game, telling her she’d win against everybody at the end, saying she should be flattered to be the biggest target in the house, saying he needed to make a big move for his resume if HE wants to win. The problem? I genuinely DO think Anthony does have an ego in some regards, I don’t think it’s all for the show. I genuinely think Anthony would never admit to needing to make a big move or saying how someone is doing better than him at certain aspects of the game. Which is something he NEEDED to do for Spicy. Whether it’s the truth or not in that aspect doesn’t matter. The excuse Anthony gave and blaming HER for her downfall is not something you do jury members, ESPECIALLY someone as volatile as Spicy. Made worse is…they had an outside-the-game relationship, so he SHOULD’VE known how to handle her in the first place.
And outside of Spicy, I think Anthony should have tried harder in his goodbye messages to make the jury feel good about him.

I’ve been into survivor lately, so I love when a season tells a great story, and this was a great story. This was the story of two all stars who were best friends and their hot chocolates, and how it all fell apart, and how one woman took advantage of the conflict and slipped through the cracks. I think the most polarizing part of this season will always be the jury and Spicy Vs weaponization of it, but I think it’s super interesting and thank goodness we get to analyze it without seeing it be used to make Anthony lose to someone he wouldn’t have lost to if the jury wasn’t bitter. Overall great winner, great story, great endgame which is rare, so this is most definitely top 5 for me in BBCan maybe top 3

I mean. This is a such a weird season in that no one should’ve beat Anthony at the end yet he basically had no chance to win. Who could Anthony have sat in the final 2 with where the Jury would vote for him? I believe every single Jury member would’ve got the votes over Anthony including Tola and Goose. Maybe Anthony could’ve won against Matt but that was literally pre jury. Anthony lost since the beginning when a girl and culture based alliance formed. He was done. The narrative of the season wanted a female to win.

This jury, specifically Avery and Victoria, is by far the most annoyed/frustrated I have ever been with a bitter jury in big brother history.
Victoria is probably the most annoyed I have ever been with an individual juror because of how much she behaved like a cynical bitter asshole. She was so adamant in exit interviews that she’s a fan and respects the game too much to be a bitter juror, but then she goes and acts like arguably the most bitter juror we’ve ever seen. It’s ok when she outplays Anthony, but it’s not ok when Anthony outplays her? Oh gee, someone outplayed her in a GAME WHERE YOURE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?? I never would’ve guessed!
I was so done with her the moment she pulled out that trash bag and asked Anthony “why would I vote for trash?” Like SHUT THE F*CK UP!!! Boo hoo someone outplayed you in a game. Get off your high horse and get over yourself.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m OK with Bayleigh winning, but the jury, specifically Avery and Victoria’s reasons for being so anti-Anthony will forever frustrate me.

I agree with all your points, but I feel that the bitterness factor is an overlooked aspect of the game. Bitter jurys are created, people aren't just bitter for no reason. Anthony did play the best game, but he mismanaged the people on the way out and to Victoria's credit she stacked the jury with her people which you could argue was also a misstep in his game. Yes big brother is about playing the best game, but a mechanic of the game is JURY MANAGEMENT. Backstab the fuck out of anyone but you need to know how they would feel in that situation and understand what explanation from you would work best. At the end of the day you are living with these people for months, sharing experiences and the dream at some life changing money and you are taking that away from them. Especially Victoria has a reason to be bitter in the way he did her as they were friends outside the game. He should have known better, or at least correctly read that she wanted her ego boosted.
We have seen top 10 players like Dan and Paul lose to bitter jurys that they created unlike for example Dr. Will in s7 where he managed to make the jury feel amazing about him even though he backstabed nearly everyone there so bad and that should be a lesson to future players.

Unlike something like survivor or big brother US I would recomend to start with season 1. A lot of seasons has spoilers to previoes seasons, and considering bbcan1 is a pretty strong season and so are seasons 2,3 and 5 (4 and 6 also has their moments) I would it in order

I'd go with BBCan 2 personally, there's even a 2 hour condensed version on youtube.

I really like the fact that they changed up the competitions to be more equitable. I hope that BB26 will also have a change in competitions (they probably won't), but maybe there is a chance considering that the comps in Reindeer Games were pretty equitable

I think it's funny that in a season where the jury claimed that they valued loyal, honest games (for whatever reason) the only HOH the winner of the season won was the HOH who had no control over who goes home.

2:09:41 100% agree. I wanted Anthony to win. I think Anthony played the best game. But bayleigh played a great game highlighted by Anthony leaving her off the block at 5 and again taking her to final 2. I said when Anthony eliminated Lexus that bayleigh deserved the win at that point. Lexus was a fine player who had the bad luck of just not being liked by spicy and the other women to start the season but her beating Anthony would be a travesty. I don’t think you could argue Lexus played a better game than Anthony where bayleigh you can make that argument. I wouldn’t, but i think there’s an argument there

In a lot of ways, Lexus/Anthony reminds me to Steve/Vanessa. Both Steve and Lexus are perfectly good players in their own right, they just get/will get compared to a player who is better than them. (Though I will say that I think Steve was closer to Vanessa than Lexus is to Anthony. Especially since I'd argue Steve has some aspects of his game where he IS probably better than Vanessa, like positioning and perception)

In my opinion, I found the majority of this season to be unwatchable because the majority of the members in the main power structure (hot chocolate) of the season were LITERALLY using RACE as STRATEGY. Spicy Vee, Avery, and Anthony all did not give a single fuck about having a Cook Out moment, and only leveraged the importance of "a greater goal" and "loyalty" when it benefitted them. It was performative and hypocritical. Besides that, most of the main characters of the season were not likeable. Kayla and Avery being Spicy Vee's goats and constantly doing baby talk (why?), Anthony having the most inflated ego in the show's history (some enjoyed it, I did not), Spicy Vee not particularly rootable either with her contradictory and self-sabotaging game moves, and Goose/Tola/Matt/Todd all pretty forgettable for me. The only thing that graced this season was the final 5 onwards, with two of the best episodes probably being Spicy's eviction and the finale. I would rank this season probably in the bottom 5 of BBCAN, maybe above seasons 4, 7, and 11.
