Thanks Karue! We love to pick your brain on any subject, at any level. Every player will struggle with most of the things you've listed whether it's obsessing over technique or getting frustrated that the other player "is not" your level. At the end of the day, everybody has to remember that you're playing a sport/game and there is an objective and that objective isn't how pretty you look or how well/bad your opponent is doing. Get that ball into the other side's court at all cost and remember to strike that ball, instead of arming it. I really enjoy how genuine and relatable your videos feels versus the other channels. Keep up the wonderful work!
But seriously, the content you’re putting out there is very very generous and, I can clearly see, much appreciated by many. Thank you! As I am returning to tennis after many years, I’m finding your channel extremely helpful and inspiring!
My own list: 1) reduce swing thought to high level visual imagery 2) observe my body language, need the cold fire feel 3) focus on lower body more than higher body 4) being present is important I agree
I watched that match you played against Eubanks. I thought you were going to lose, but you totally stayed on point and turned it around. I thought it was very impressive! I remember the first league match i ever won...I didn't even know I had won the match on match point! I had lost 4 matches previously to this and a very good player told me to quit thinking about the match and just focus on playing each point to my absolute hardest. It worked.
Thank you so much for your candid insights! Even for us mortals who only played HS tennis, rec level etc...match play vs. practice/technique building are different animals.

Hey Karou, happy new year! I'm from the Philippines, it's a basketball country, so my first sport is basketball not tennis. We have this hidden rule - forget the previous play, focus on the next play. So, if you miss a lay-up, you should run back down to defend. If you "shadow swing" your lay-up, you're team will be down 4 to 5. So, TIP when playing basketball - don't pass the ball to a tennis player because he would shadow swing every time he misses a jumper. On this vlog, I like it. Do you remember the ipod? @my tennis hq brother this is exactly what I have been doing the last three months. Focusing on one improvement for my forehand so that I can improve technique! Keep up the good information.
Great tips and video! What really helps me these days with my serves is to think how many double faults Zverev makes on official televised matches! I finally serve freely 1st and 2nd serves!
I just watched your match against Eubanks in 2018. Perfect learning example. At 2-1 on serve after you lost the first set, you tried a New Strategy. Off his huge serve, you moved up on the baseline and began to overly step into his serves. It began to work. Not only did you return more serves by this strategy, it put more pressure on him during his service game. Lesson, you got to be willing to make changes on the court, even drastic ones like you did. Great Win! I was a little disappointed that I did see a Federer "SABER".

Im playimg my first tournament in a yeqrs time again tomorrow. Havent played in about a year cuase of this stupid corona. These tipes really are clear as well as your other videos. Hoping i dont lose a 60 60 lol
What I find incredibly frustrating on the court is going into a meaningless match as in there is nothing on the line other than your own pride. - I tell myself the result does not matter yet I get tight and make mistakes because of this. Also, I might have been working on hitting say a better topspin xcourt bh and then during a match it is flakey and I have to decide if I wanna continue to use it for match practice or should I go back to my more reliable slice bh that would increase my chances to win probably
Definitely work on it during the match. Be committed to what you are working on in practice. But if things get tight and you feel like you must slice, it is also ok. Trust your instinct
@@KaruesellHQ Thanks, yeah I think you are right my main goal is to improve. Btw I saw your results of the tournament you mentioned on the UTR site - haha you had some strong wins but looks like things got a bit tight in the final looking at the score :-) Well done!
If I was playing against you I’d hire a model to do push-ups next to the court to maybe distract you a little so you might frame the ball a couple of times for the two points I’d be able to win against you.
Some great tips here! I play quite a lot of tournaments as an amateur and I was often guilty of over analysing my technique especially on serve as it's a shot I've struggled with and over analysed. As you say when the match starts you just have to focus on the tactics that will win you points with the level that you have on the day. Just got to stay present, keep as relaxed as you can and keep it simple on the match court! Great content as always👍

@@ronimogy1133 No, I mainly play really well in the first set, and then my agressiveness of my shots all of a sudden stops for the rest of the match. It's weird.
I think a good way to get un-tight in pressure situations is simply to picture Gael Monfils in your mind's eye. LaMonf doing anything, even eating a sandwich. Never seen him tight.

that goddess that was doing pushups in the rain. absolutely dedicated. 15:09
Did you determine if you are making the switch to the vcore 95? Also what tourney did you enter and how was your result?
Really like it, would love to switch to it but only if I can get a couple free ones hahah
good for this person....
Hey Karue, what’s your grip size?
4 3/8
Just curious: why did you stop pursuing pro tennis? Injury? Burnout? Funding issues? Any plans for a comeback?
Great video, by the way!
Haven’t stopped yet but financially it is really hard to stay out there week in and week out without sponsors
I need you and a top-quality psychoanalyst coaching me during my next league match.
Lol
Im playimg my first tournament in a yeqrs time again tomorrow. Havent played in about a year cuase of this stupid corona. These tipes really are clear as well as your other videos. Hoping i dont lose a 60 60 lol
You wont!
Which racket do u use?
VCORE 95
@@KaruesellHQ I have a vcore 98 and vcore 100. Daring to try out the 95 next 😊
Push ups in the ran????!!!! Hahaha,,,, great on her. The best advice ever = BE THE BETTER COMPETITOR, NOT THE BETTER PLAYER. Absolute Gold...
I just show up to tournaments with my two handled "Natural" racquet -like Battistone - and freak out my opponents mind. Lol
If I was playing against you I’d hire a model to do push-ups next to the court to maybe distract you a little so you might frame the ball a couple of times for the two points I’d be able to win against you.
Who can play the game better? My opponent or me? I liked that statement and thiught process.
Appreciate it!
I love talking tennis players, I hope you make it big and still keep talking.
Appreciate it!
I have my first ever match tomorrow, hoping for a win 🤞
u can do it :) play to his backhand
@@adrienszakolczai7288 not if he has Karue's backhand ;)
Good luck
@@adrienszakolczai7288 thanks, will do!! I’m lucky as well cause hopefully he tries the same thing, but my backhand is actually stronger then my forehand.
Good luck.And have fun...
The girl doing push ups was a neck breaker... nice! 😂
Lol it wasn’t even that. It was so random. Push ups on the sidewalk under pouring rain hahaha
Hi Karue, do you have a dog? The plastic strap on your hat is a little chewed up so I was just wondering. What type of dog do you have? Thanks for the videos.
My favorite swing-thought is, "relax"!
Great thought hahah
What I'm getting from this is...
if you're overthinking, stop. Don't think.
"See ball, hit ball"
I always struggle in the finals, but I feel like it's more of a mental thing rather than a physical thing.
Maybe you don’t deserve to win?
@@ronimogy1133 No, I mainly play really well in the first set, and then my agressiveness of my shots all of a sudden stops for the rest of the match. It's weird.
Which racket are you using right now?
VCORE 95 at the moment
@@KaruesellHQ new or previous one?
I think a good way to get un-tight in pressure situations is simply to picture Gael Monfils in your mind's eye. LaMonf doing anything, even eating a sandwich. Never seen him tight.
who’s the best player you have ever played (pure talent)
Thiem
More advice less reviews :)
Cut out the "Euhm" things I think there are about 5 euhm's every 45 seconds...
Ps: Love to have found your channel. Great stuff.
If ur ground strokes aren’t going well hit many drop shots and u can win
You are not wrong, sir
