GLaDOS let go of Chell, thinking that she was letting go of her troubles, hence the line "You're someone else's problem, now I only want you gone" in the end song. And when Chell is released, she is in the middle of nowhere, that's not happy. GLaDOS throws the companion cube out to her as if to say, "You're on your own, kid." I hope that cleared a few things up for you :)
9/10, should've had a multiplayer mode where 10 or so people are different robots which can be customised along with your portal gun where you're in a large chamber with people and you use tactics to kill enemies, making them restart and race to the end. everything else in the game is amazing
+Squeaky bubbles Yes, it is different. But the clever thing about this game is that it never feels like you're thinking differently! It's still the same place; in fact you even see a few familiar old rooms you did in Portal! You instantly carry on your love of Glados & she charms you more & more! It almost becomes sexual! Ha Ha! The best part is when you fall all the way to the bottom, deep underground amoungst a derelict testing facility & have to work your way back up through the 1940's test equivalent of the facility to the top, & it's HUGE! I'd try it if you miss Portal. I've just started. ;)
I I that this game game was great up until the ending. When you shot a portal on THE MOON and you leave to an army of singing turrets, it made it one of my favorite games ever. Seeing Chel finally get free was amazing. Also companion cube.

For people who are confused, The reason it got a 9.5 instead of a 10 is probably because "the tension sags in the second act" as said in the video. Though I do personally think it should have gotten a 10, I still can see why it got a 9.5 in this video.
Portal 2 completely deserved its 9.5 /10 and its 2011 GOTY Awards. Amazing story, fantastic puzzles, superb visual aesthetic, mind bending portal physics, plot twists and co-op modes.... I really hope Portal 2 comes to PS4 with a visual upgrade alongside the long awaited Portal 3.

There cant b another Statue of Liberty, nor Eiffel Tower nor Taj Mahal... Similarly, no Portal 3
This game is amazing :) This may be quite the read here so get some popcorn. Gameplay = 8 Wheatleys/10 (Reason why I deducted a couple of points is because of a couple of glitches where I couldn't get to the point and I had to restart the game, as there will be no more patches and the glitch/bug is still there, I deducted a couple of points.) Otherwise than that the gameplay made references to the last game (wich I love!) and actually made sense when you were told to do something. They did not just leave you hanging at a little thread! They led the crumbs where you discover the experince of gaming yourself. Dialougue = 9 Cakes/10 (I deducted one point because one flaw with the subtitles, a couple grammar mistakes like punctuation and since there will be no more patches I deducted one point, other than that the dialougue was great! As I said before, references to the game before. The dialougue is also great because this game spawns new theorys, like "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!? I NEED TO KNOW!?" I love those types of games :) Good job. Strategizing = 10 Portals/10 (This game is perfect for the casual experince and the hardcore full achievment experince! This game can allow you to do what you want, you can solve the problem in any chamber how you want. You can either play the game at a slow and steady pace or you can grab all the achievments you can find!) (Bonus: I love how some chambers in the game are related to the original Portal!) Achievments = 8.5 Turrets/10 (Reason why I deducted 1.5 of a point is because some of the achievments can be overwhelming to the player which can somewhat be depressing), (otherwise the achievments are great!) The achievments are almost worth getting from the start, Catchy names; Check, References to last game; Check, Feeling acomplished when you achieve them; check! Satisfiamental = 11 Cores/10 (I really think this is one of the games where I have satisfiement where I get to say I completed that game. This game has a goal at first then has a plot twist, bam and you still are satisfied with what you get in the end because you know you wanted it for so long to happen. You know you are happy when you defeat that evil villian and you know YOU did it. That's the kind of joy that energizes me.)
How was not Half-Life a success? It revolutionized the fps genre as we know it and sold almost 10 million copies. It spawned innumerable mods and games including Counter-Strike and gave rise to the biggest modding community ever. Team Fortress was definitely a popular mod back in the day. Portal was a huge success: it sold over 4 million copies, was named game of the year and even game of the decade by several publications and it's immensely popular on the internet.
EAn has Origin, which has 11 MILLION USERS and is probably the greatest gaming outlet ever. Plus they have Battlefield 3, the most realistic simulator of war. AND they have Medal of Honor, which will also be powered by Frostbite 2.0. Valve has hats and an old game engine with no destruction or HDR dynamic lighting. Woopee.

Hmmm ..... game looks interesting .... gonna buy it for the 360 soon but should i play portal 1 first ?
Definitely play the first Portal before Portal 2.
There is no reason not to, both are amazing, and you appreciate the second more if you play portal 1.
u can get this game on steam, for £3.74. If ur in the uk, so if ur in USA it will be like $5
You should just to get used to the mad hilarious humor of it and to get the hang of how it works + the 1st is great anyway
Im halfway through finishing portal 1 .... the music is whats keeping me playing ...
11 PM- I guess I can do one more test chamber before I go to sleep. 3 AM- I MUST KEEP GOING.
is it worth getting, because I have the original portal, and I love it but 2 looks so different
I've just started. ;)
How much is the download space for the full game on ps3? My laser thing is broken and cant play any disks
Around 5 GB.
Just got the game on steam and I'm surprised how well it runs on low end laptops
What is the song in the begging and background?
I I that this game game was great up until the ending. When you shot a portal on THE MOON and you leave to an army of singing turrets, it made it one of my favorite games ever. Seeing Chel finally get free was amazing. Also companion cube.
Can you get this from xbox live??
what is the name of the portal 2 theme that plays at the beggining?
Portal: giving new meaning to the phrase 'Let's shoot some hoops'
This game is truly stunning. It is definitely my favorite game of all time. I can not stress enough how great this game is. At the end it will leave you not only completely satisfied but also very curious. If you haven't already bought this game, you need to asap.
what is the theme that plays at the beggining of the review?
What's the song that plays at the start of the gameplay section?
Let’s casually ignore the fact that portal is ranked to lower than overwatch
Why the hell is there 30 second ads that can't be skipped
Don’t ya hate it when you try to type 10, but it types 9.5?
2:20
What is that song?
I've been looking for the name of it for a long time.
Raging Light it has been seven years, traveler. It is called science is fun. I hope this information is still useful for you
Should've been a 10, one of the greatest games ever made.
Fort nite 9.6
They think a broken piece of carp higher than one of the best sequels of all time
For people who are confused, The reason it got a 9.5 instead of a 10 is probably because "the tension sags in the second act" as said in the video.
Eternal Light Goaty awards!
It should have gotten a 10/10 though
Should I get portal 1 or Portal 2 for Steam on mac?
I just bought the Portal bundle on steam rn for 1.50$ and should i start from portal 1 so i can understand the story of portal 2??
Storm Mann yes. Start with portal 1 and then portal 2.
Cohen Lorenz i will and thanks
Its a MASTERPIECE of gaming!
If u have never played this game or its prequel... damn... dont wait, go get it and play this game!
Amazingly hilarious, amazing voice-acting, gameplay.... u name it, and it excels!
I dont think any game wud surpass this irrespective of genre. 11/10
And i wud never want a Portal 3... There cant b another Statue of Liberty, nor Eiffel Tower nor Taj Mahal... Similarly, no Portal 3
what's the song at the beginning?
can someone get me a link to the song at the start? can't find it
This game is amazing :) This may be quite the read here so get some popcorn.
You can either play the game at a slow and steady pace or you can grab all the achievments you can find!) (Bonus: I love how some chambers in the game are related to the original Portal!)
Achievments = 8.5 Turrets/10 (Reason why I deducted 1.5 of a point is because some of the achievments can be overwhelming to the player which can somewhat be depressing), (otherwise the achievments are great!) The achievments are almost worth getting from the start, Catchy names; Check, References to last game; Check, Feeling acomplished when you achieve them; check!
That's the kind of joy that energizes me.)
can I play co op before single or is co op just unlockable
How was not Half-Life a success? It revolutionized the fps genre as we know it and sold almost 10 million copies. It spawned innumerable mods and games including Counter-Strike and gave rise to the biggest modding community ever. Team Fortress was definitely a popular mod back in the day. Portal was a huge success: it sold over 4 million copies, was named game of the year and even game of the decade by several publications and it's immensely popular on the internet.
"the visuals arent going to blow you away"
You don't have a bad valve game, i still play cs 1.6 to this day.
I don't like first person shooters or puzzle games, but I'm loving this.
Well, put it this way. Portal was an amazing chopper with wings, portal 2 was just adding stickers to that chopper.
Woopee.
