Spiraling Pines

Out in the middle of Mason County. Just north of Shelton in Washington State, are huge stands of pines surrounded by a wintery landscape. Every once in a while you come upon a clear-cut area and you're presented with a quandary. Why did they leave three trees? The answer is out there.
I just wanted to capture the desolation of timber harvesting and the beauty of the landscape surrounding it.
Being at the southern edge of the Olympic National Forest. There are so many adventures waiting in Mason County.
