Fantastic memories. I started crewing at Reno in '96 on Merlins Magic. Worked for Dan Martin for years and crewed for him on Ridge Runner in the early 2000s and ended in 2006 with Dago Red. Some of the most fun ive ever had with some of the most amazing and talented people a youg guy could ever be around. Learned so much. That era truely was Renos sweet spot. I miss the good old days : )
I still have to pinch myself 20+ years being a part of this attempt at a cable series. I'm 20+ years older, in a lot worse shape and it's like a dream come true to see the video again and the response to it! I have to single out Bob Avery as the man with the dream that made all this possible!
I worked on Dago Red and Miss 'A' at Santa Monica in the early ''90s. Dago lost an engine and Strega won at about 495 or so. I was also working with a guy who worked on Strega a few years earlier.
Every time I shave.. It reminds me not to watch that video! Really is a priceless gift to have been involved with this production! **SOMEWHERE** I must have an original copy of this! Moved several times since then, I have all my stuff in bins and boxes and have not been well enough since moving to my forever home.
I really want to get into MSFS, what setup would you suggest? I'm currently using a 17" laptop, no gaming or sims.. I'd like to get set up with the best "Affordable" setup for MSFS. Run off a stronger computer than my 10 year old "desktop replacement 17" lappy" gameboy? I'd be very interested in knowing anyone's experience with VR goggles! Best controller setup (HOTAS) I wuz really into sims around '96-7 had complete HOTAS rudder pedals etc. I want to do that all over, the best way with today's technology.. suggestions welcomed!
