This is my childhood's game and one of my favourite/best games ever! It is also extremely challenging. I have played/finished only EU PC version, but there are some different levels, effects and soundtracks so looks like I will need to try the PS1 version also.

I sincerely hope they do not remaster. This game is perfect the way it is. Some games, like Biohazard, were trying to do something complex with graphics and benefit from an update., but Rayman is just a 2D platformer that looks great on the PSX as is. Besides, the newer Rayman entries are all very good and they play in HD as they should.
The jump in difficulty with this game is never mentioned in ANY “what is the hardest game ever?” list! Why?! I mean, look at some of these I Wanna Be The Guy-esque, Kaizo Mario moments in here with the tiny platforms and the impossible to avoid hazard and enemy placement!! Now don’t get me wrong, this game is fantastic, looks wonderful, the music is awesome and Rayman is a cool little dude! I just think it deserves the “gets really hard really quick” moniker when being mentioned by anyone who has played it. Caddicarus did a video talking all about it, far better than I could ever mention here!

It wasent until the very end of the game that this guy lost one health . Other than that through out the whole game had this guy not taken one point of damage . Very impressive. 🔥🔥🔥💯👍

Really like how the lava room boss is just looking down on Rayman as he hangs from the ledge, like: "No, this is actually going to be a fair fight, mister". ^.^

3 hours 46 minutes?! I'm pretty sure my bestie Hannah and I (back in '97/'98 when we were both, what? 11?) never got past getting the standard helicopter hair at 46 mins. So many hours and miles of untouched game. It's not wonder we no longer speak.

This game is exorbitant hard because you can only save after completing a whole level. And each level consists of up to six sections. I recommend playing with an emulator where you can save after each single section. And then it's still more than hard enough.

This game came out the year I was born. I got it when I was 4 or 5 years old. To this day, I haven't beat it or even gotten that far for that matter. This guy beat it in less than 4 hours.

Wow! Call me impressed! I played Rayman a lot ( not at the time of its release , though ) but, personally, as soon as I have the chance, I start the levels that grant you the hang and helicopter powers, at the very least. Those are REAL life-savers, let me tell you!
it was so fun and easy in the beginning then got hard as balls so hard to play, Ubisoft went from Rayman to Far Cry crazy to think how far they've come.
Ubisoft also released other games including Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, a few licensed games (Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Scott Pilgrim, Playmobil, etc) and the Tom Clancy series
Just curious, why didn't you try to get all the cages the first time through each level (at least in the levels it's possible)? That way you'd only have to go back to a few levels.
I got two critiques. I'm surprised you didn't run constantly since achieving that power. Second is that you can grab the extra life trophies by swinging your fist at them. Other than that, I'm impressed by the amount of times you avoided getting damage! Good job!
