- I love CHiPs. I love Jon and Ponch, their friendships. They are best friends and best buddies.
I wonder how Ponch felt when Jon left CHP and went back to Wyoming after CHiPs season 5.
I thought the lyrics of this song would be perfect for his feelings and created this video.

They make a great team. Without Jon the show wasn’t the same. It’s sad that they didn’t get along in real life. I know now they are good friends.

I used to watch CHiP' when I was young .And I am still watching. I love the old cars, the way of life of the 70's and 80's and the team Jon and Ponch .This show was and still is the best show ever.

So many feelings watching this beautiful video. An arrow in my heart. A strong friendship, beyond time. Last month I saw Chips 99 for the first time and Jon and Ponch's encounter made me cry. 💔

The show wasn't the same after Jon left. They had a real chemistry between them. But egos got in the way.
I quit watching after Jon left the show.

I don't think I can watch season 6 I couldn't even watch that BS last episode of season 5
Trust me, he was saying "Jon who?". It was never about the both of them, Estrada was the star and everyone knew it. Watch the episodes. Was it Jon wearing a Halloween costume? How about disco dancing? No? Karate? Jon flirting with women? When interviewed later, Jon said his acting ability was far greater than saying "7 Mary 3 and 4 copy." When Estrada eventually came to the reality the show had run it's course, it killed him. His ego took another blow when no one was offering him any roles. It became so bad, he had to learn Spanish to be on a Mexican soap opera. 50 years later I saw him in Las Vegas autographing "Chips" pictures for $3.
Larry Wilcox's departure was a prelude to the end of Chips.
