If a project has a Business Analyst and System Analyst, who writes the Functional specification? I know that the BA writes the Business Requirements and SA writes the System Requirements.
Hi, I am preparing for an interview for the post of BA. The company has given me tasks to prepare BRD, FRD, and Technical document. Also to create use cases and activity diagram for the login page. What does a Technical document should include in its content? Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Swapnil, Technical design documents are typically produced by the systems/software architects. These documents normally describe the overall technical architecture of the system that the rest of the dev team needs to follow when building their components. It's very likely that your company is asking you to produce a functional specification/software requirements specification, rather than a technical document. The purpose of the FSD/SRS is to provide the dev team with the level of details they need to build a solution. This document normally contains a lot of screen specificaitons, detailed business rules, detailed use cases, entity models etc. What you put in this document really depends on what kind of system feature you're describing to your developers.

If you have both a BA and an SA on a project then the Functional Specifications are written by the SA.
