When it comes to gods and magic I think people really discredit it's psychological effects. As far as believing it is real and preforming a ritual to convince yourself of its physical reality. Gods and magic are in every culture world wide cause its part of human nature to have governing powers to aid and guide them. If you are on mission as a lone warrior into a beehive of enemy's under the belief you are protected by devine intervention its a big aid in keeping your nerves on ice and staying focused on your objectives. You have to consider the mental commitment needed to persue such huge impersonal tasks...all warriors serve higher ideals to drive there actions and use a ritual of supportive therapy to stay involved in those actions. Rather those ideals be protecting the man next to you and service for god and country or just coping with the job and seeing it through to its end. Love your videos, appreciate you keeping truth alive and not just exploiting something your good at selling. I look forward to owning all of your work.
Antony cummins, Gen is the japanese word for spiritual powers which are called siddhi in Hindu, also it is mentioned a couple of times in carmen blackers book, its also a part of the word Shugendo, why would they use it there, if its not meant as spiritual powers?
I will look into it. But at present i understand Genjutsu to be as in the video. But worth a follow up. Do not forget that its not just what the kanji means it is its application and use.
Is it possible that the shinobi had access to hallucinogenic plants? It would explain the stories about giant snakes and toads.Weaponized hallucinogens maybe(like batman begins)?
the gods are the jinn kind and yes they can help you but before they do you need to do a lot(i.e give up your afterlife) for them before they accept to do things for you.
I would say illusion is the basic of ninjutsu... To give you an idea, i literally made someone think i can fly and teleport by using basic illusion tricks... The rirst by standing on my heel, the second by taking a shorcut when i was running behind them, he was going for a corner so i jumped over a wall qnd then the other... When he turned i was in front of him... I would think throwing some powder to hide my shape in the dark or dissapear, would count as genjutsu, right?
moho and getjutsu sound like could go together magic and Illusion moho it's from the gods humm depression anit that part of ninjutsu could be useful but not part ninjutsu wow just good video in art of war all battle is part of depression stealth and inton seem so part of getjutsu it is a Illusion of vanishing but only laying low thumb up does make you think
You are missing the point. This is historical research. The samurai fully believed in such things. You have to come from the angle of belief to understand history.
Antony Cummins That's a given. It's just believing doesn't make things real. Although, I suppose in order to fully understand the logisctis of it, you have to open your mind first.

Can I simply replace magic with illusion/technological assistance?

Catching fingernail skill? What and where is that from? Very interesting.
Has anyone noticed the similarities between Majustsu/ Maho, and Western esotericism? They are myriad.

Not to undermine your effort in making this video, but it can be summed up by just realising magic is not a real thing.

Michael Zand That magic is not real? I sincerely hope you're not asking that question.
Michael Zand It's a clear observation. Doesn't take a scientist for it.
Michael Zand Magic. Or lack thereof.
