A thing about the Kesha court case is that she wasn’t even taking him to court to charge him / hold him liable for anything. She just didn’t want to work with him anymore and he was using her contract to trap her into not being able to leave

and that's the problem really. the accusation had 'nothing' to do with the actual case, about legally getting out of the contract. She used it as a reason she wanted to get out of the contract, without actually wanting to prove the accusation in court.
If she took him to court for grape first and he was found liable in that type of case, she would then be able to get out of the contract easily, from what the law analysts said while the case was taking place.

I find it sad that Dr. Luke most likely paid and kept everyone he abused quiet, just to keep Kesha isolated and alone when she spoke out against him. Shame on him and everyone that helped protect him.
Dr.Luke needs a pr company. He was never convicted, there was no proof of assault other than Kesha stating that Katy was assaulted (which Katy denied under oath). Kesha most likely lied to get out of a contract. Why do people automatically believe her stories?

this really is awful. it sucks that we cope in that way, but I hope more women are able to speak up instead of clamming up if only to prevent further abuse to other women. we need to stand together on it. it's definitely a sacrifice to admit to, and it's alright if not everyone can make that sacrifice. but it's so important when the women that CAN voice their assaults get over that obstacle and are able to admit it to prevent more women from getting hurt or being outcasted, isolated, targeted, and kept quiet.

She had to explain her art to everyone because it was clearly not working, which means, she has been too into her own bubble, that she didn't read the room. The actual state of the world is screaming for talent.
Katy literally had to explain that it was a "satire" and how it was a satire. It just didn't work because it felt more like a mockery of something she used to be herself. And her new single is no better as much as her fans try to put it that way.

And like...Her old music? Iconic.
But I think that Chappel Roan listing her as an influence on her music does actually say quite a bit about why things just aren't working for Katy Perry.
Artists like Chappel Roan who grew up listening to her music have taken it and used that influence and that building blocks to innovate and create, building on and learning from what came before and continuing to grow.
But I think Katy Perry has failed to do the same.
She's stuck trying to recreate her past successes and her past art, instead of taking it and using it to experiment and grow from.
So she had a flop album before this one (not even a flop, just not the same overwhelming success and iconography as she was used to), that's beyond normal for artists.
Many of the most iconic artists of all time have at least one 'embarrassing' album before they reach a new phase of success.
But I think she saw the albums reception and panicked, and instead of deciding to try and push forward and grow, taking it as a message that there was still more to learn and more work to be done, she took it as a sign that she needed to go back and just do the same thing she did before.
It's sad, because it's undeniable that Katy Perry is an icon, and one that has been beloved and inspirational to so many, and made songs that built the memories of so many of my generation.
Artists like David Bowie, Eminem, and Taylor Swift-three very different artists with wildly separate styles and worlds-all had albums and periods that were seen as embarrassing, but we're the catalyst or necessity for their next phase/era, and for their growth.
It's not losing or changing your style, it's growing as a person and growing your music along with it.
People are saying that she's too old to make this music still; but that's not true at all, no one's 'too old' for art.
I think what that feeling really is, is that she has aged, brown, and progressed in life as a person, but is trying to stop her music from growing and developing with her.
She's not too old for the music; the music is too old for her.
Any artist who tries to keep their style exactly the same is doomed.
Think about it as if it were a visual artist; who would want every painting to stay at the same skill level as their original art?
Art is about growth and change.
I still remember when she disrespected Mariah on a talk show interview where she said Mariah is only “fabulous as a throwback”. Mariah has classic songs that will stand the test of time, while she’s got songs that no one remember in a decade or so. Katy’s ego is bigger than her meager talent and the comeuppance is well deserved.

The crowd for the game is more than 100,000 and then it’s televised to millions of Australians so even though it may not be an international win, it does have a large audience and it is kinda frustrating to see people downplay it.

Katy never really changed; her music has sounded the same since the mid-2010s. It has always been a very watered-down and modernized version of feminism, created with the specific purpose of appealing to a much more generalized audience-think 'girl power' T-shirts you'd buy at JCPenney in 2014. At the time, that was a lot of progress, as we saw many people start to get on board with the concept. However, as time went on, the ideas and understanding of feminism evolved. We moved on from needing to tell every girl that she can do the same things as a man to needing to protect women from the waves of violence and hate that have spread over the last decade.
What was once the more silent, outcast version of the feminist movement is now the much more modernized version. People heard Katy’s music, took those ideas, and ran with them, ultimately leaving her behind in the process. She, along with her writers and producers, have refused to look at modern times and recognize the issues because, as a whole, the 'girl power' movement was created by men for men. It was there to reassure men: "It's okay, we promise women don’t want to hurt you and take your jobs; they just want to have fun and wear bikinis without you objectifying them. Is that too much to ask?"
What her team has failed to realize is that feminist ideals of the modern movement refuse to bend to the needs, wants, and fears of men. We've done it for far too long, and at a certain point, we need to stand our ground and state outright what we want.
People don't want to hear the voice of a woman who is simply the face of corrupted men. People don't want to be talked down to and told they can do things they already know they can, because at its core, Katy’s music today and of the past is simply a lukewarm attempt at corporate feminism, and that’s just not something we look at anymore and think, "Wow, progress." I really don't believe she changed or got worse; I think we just realized that a rich and successful white woman wasn't even close to all feminism in the music industry could be.
