  • Join me for a dose of REALITY as we have a fantastic morning on MISSISSIPPI public lands! The long, less viewed- and lesser understood days of "work" that put us in the right spots with the right turkey. These days are often glossed over and the highlights make the reel which give that false sense of what's actually REAL. You get it all here on the PINHOTI PROJECT. #pinhotiproject #publicland #turkeyhunting

Got on a bird near a roadway the other day and about the time I was setting up on the bird, within 100 yards, here comes a blasted truck. Slows down and drives on. After a few minutes, I call, here comes the dipstick back through. No respect. Road hunting! Don’t call yourself a turkey hunter. Thx for the videos

I watched every minute. I have had my butt whipped many times in the past 49 springs of turkey hunting. My took me the first time when I was 6 years old! I miss the fact he is no longer here to enjoy the sport he loved so much and was so very good at. He was old school and might sit down to a turkey at daylight and stay in one spot until 10 or 11 because he always said if that turkey answered your call that at some point during the day he was going to come looking for that hen and with his success rate it definitely worked for him.

Other than poor timber management, Coronavirus and youtube are the worst thing that could ever have happened to turkey hunting. So many new turkey hunters since coronavirus watching youtube videos and think the know what they are doing. Most are the younger generation that didn't grow up doing it. They have no respect for the bird or other hunters even if they watch videos its years of experience that kills turkeys. Respect for the turkeys and other hunters are tought at home. And if you did not grow up in a hunting family or atmosphere it will never be learned. Hunting turkeys is tuff hunting turkeys on public land is way harder but it shouldn't be. If someone beats you to the bird or a truck at the gate move on. Wake up earlier get there first and hope the next guy does the same

    • @Huntingwiththeposeys

Without the younger generation it’s a dying sport! We need the younger kids learning, who cares if they are screwing up and yes they may start out doing wrong, but the outdoors will teach them respect and patience! You’re looking at it wrong! Some kids aren’t blessed with a hunting family. But a kid that finds hunting, it may keep them out of trouble. Instead of bashing the kids, take some time and teach them!

I care more about the bird and it’s conservation than anything in this world. Do you have a problem with that? You don’t own the turkey woods, if you don’t like walking the extra miles to get away from other hunters you better find some private land.

It's not a busted hunt. We have days like that.
Trick is to learn from it to be a better Turkey hunter. There's no better teacher in the wild Turkey.

I’ll take the process any day as well. Live the ups and downs. But it’s true. That’s why my videos are only 8-10 minutes long. No one wants to watch the struggles

Dave when you’re calling to the bird on the limb, what type of call are you giving to the gobbler as he gobbles. I’ve heard hens do that before. Just curious what the hen is telling the gobbler when she does that. Thanks and keep videos coming
