  • It's one of the fastest-growing Christian denominations in the world-the Seventh-day Adventist Church. But even as Adventists grow in influence and public awareness, especially recently, not much is known and many myths and legends about them abound. Pastor Doug Batchelor "clears the air" in this special video presentation.

    The trinity was never a founding doctrine of the SDA. Bates and the Whites never were trinitarians.

      +LGreenall The word "trinity" means different things to different people. The Bible uses the word ""Godhead" to describe the union of Father, Son & Spirit.
      "There are three living persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will co-operate with the obedient subjects of heaven in their efforts to live the new life in Christ."-Evangelism, 615.

      +Nirky Again, the founding fathers never believed in 3 separate autonomous Gods that made up the trinity. The bible never mentions one time God the Son, and God the holy spirit.
      Jesus is the Messiah, and he is a man;
      "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
      1 Tim 2:5
      Not only that but Jesus himself ratified that there is only one God, and that God is His God;
      "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, OIsrael; The Lord our God is one Lord:"
      Mark 12:29
      "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yetascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."
      John 20:17

      +LGreenall "The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption."-Counsels on Health, 222.

      +Nirky You are ignoring the scripture I wrote. The bible, and the bible first. ..... and AGAIN... the founding fathers NEVER believed or accepted the trinity.

      +LGreenall Not at all, the Bible says the three, the heavenly trio, are one. 1 John 5:7. Just like Mrs. White says. Should anyone promote what a "founding father" thought when it conflicts with both Mrs. White and the Word of God? No, it's error.
