before i started staying silent, i knew something needed to change. but i was terrified that others would stop sharing with me if i chose to be silent (opting out of the “ooh’s” and “ah’s,” the normal cues we use to show others we are actively listening).
once i stopped putting in effort to show i was listening, yes sometimes it’s awkward but the conversation carries on as it needs to. and it ends when it needs to, too!

There is an old Brazilian saying 🐍" God doesn't give wings to snakes". Meaning God would not give any more advantages to people which are already full of advantages. If snakes had wings, they would be like little dragons.
