So that's how you get your fabulous papers! I never knew I could get so excited by creating my own papers. When I've seen other people do mark making/papers, I always thought Meh, lots of work for so little punch. They never grabbed me the way your video did. Then again, they are not informed by the Goddess. 😀 And, Speedball paints, who knew?

I so loved this session, so much inspiration. Oh my gosh Hobby Lobby had this ink on clearance for like a couple of dollars for a pack. I should of bought those and used them on the plate, darn it hehehe. Anyway I’m so inspired.

Lovely as always, Robyn! I'm going to have to look up on your channel the videos you have made regarding cutting printed tissues and papers down and framing... 😉 Also, what are your thoughts on using the different brayers and their surfaces in relation to different papers? If you haven't, please make a video showing the different results when used together. I almost purchased a Speedball brayer with a rubber roller a few days ago, but I wonder about using it with my Gelli Arts gel plates... I think I have seen that you can, but I wanted to ask... thanks for all that you do!

Hi Robyn! I'm wondering if you can use the Speedball inks with Gelli Arts and Gel Press brand gel plates, or does it need to be a Speedball plate? I love these quickie sessions. Thank you!
Hi Sharon great question, I'm using the Gelli Arts plate I've actually never used the gel press plate but I understand them to be rughly the same and the speedball plate is just another gelatin plate product so I see no reason why the gel press plate shouldn't work. Again I'm demoing with the gelli arts plate...so glad you are enjoying the sessions! :)
Hi Robyn, thx for getting back to me. I use Gelli Arts plates as well. The reason I asked is because when Speedball first came out with their own plate, it didn't play well with acrylic paint so I wondered if the reverse was true with Speedball ink. You're getting great prints and your plate is fine so ima try some of the Speedball ink. Woohoo! Thanks again!! 😊
@@sharongrace3626 Agree, the Speedball plate became very sticky using acrylics after a short time using it. I thought I may not have looked after it well enough. The paper kept getting horribly stuck to the plate, tearing every print. I then bought the Gelli Arts plates but kept the Speedball plate. Glad I did now, will now try using the printing paint. Love your videos. Question. Can you compare using acrylic paints vs Speedball? What is the difference? Thanks.
They are two different animals, I like them both, the block printing inks give you more time to develope your work, they dry matte and give a softer look though you can make bold prints, I feel the edges blend better not a lot of hard edges. clean up is uber easy just water it all dissovles away so your stencil ,stamps and other materials last longer. I hope you give them a try! :)

Hi Robin, I've used Akua water based printing inks and Cranfield, and they are both amazing. But, they don't dry if I use them over the top of acrylic paint. I'm sure they'd dry over watercolor, but the acrylic acts just like any other plastic and keeps them open. Do you have any suggestions for how they might dry? Or maybe it just takes a whole lot longer?
