I just love your chanel. I am a nurse, 51 years old. Love to travel alone and with friends on my advbike. 3 teens and a hubby at home. They really suport me to live my life on my bike. ❤
Hi and welcome to the channel! So glad you're enjoying the trips, and keep getting out there yourself. 😍
Glad you got to visit lake Vernwy Charlie. I know that technically it's just a Victorian reservoir, but surely it has to be the most stunning and magical reservoir ever created?. Over the course of many years i must have spent several months wild camping, exploring the water falls, there's others with only rough trails to, photographing sunsets and rises, and just breathing in the magic & beauty of wild north Wales. I once lived not far from there in Llanrhaerdr so it was a local haunt for a few years. The drone views of the gothic fairy tale straining tower was stunning. I must have seen it a hundred times, but never so well, thank you Charlie 😊.
Thank you! It did involve some serious drone piloting skills to negotiate trees and wires to get out to the tower !
Those waterfall shots where epic Charlie, what a location just stunning beauty. Thanks for posting ride safe.
Thank you. 😊
Epic adventure is an understatement.
Really quite amazing.
Great editing as well. Thank you.
Thank you. 😊
Lovely video Charlie, The drone is such a powerful tool and captures the landscape really well. I think Autumn is also one of my favourite times of year, the colours and the smells. It takes me back to my childhood when I used to walk to a neighbouring village to visit my Nan, we would walk through knee deep leaves. I will never forget the smells, the sights and the sounds of Autumn and the memories it brings back:)
Not sure how well your tent will stand up to really strong weather though?
Thanks Sandy, I keep wanting to get off the bike and kick about in the leaves! 🤣
Ive got an image of oh your recording hahaha Always be careful crossing streams as the stones that are just beneath the water that you can still stand on can be super slippery as I found out some where along the Avon lol Lets just say I joined the ducks and fish for a few minutes haha
I'm amazed Lee didn't!
Nice as up there I live twenty minutes away oswestry 😊
I must admit I fell out with camping, when the tent took off in a breeze in the lake district. Tried it again tent leaked got soaking. Never again. But love your trips, not so much the camping.
Oh no! Yeah that would put me off!
I have watched this series about 3 or times now Charlie, The best !! Tomorrow I will be off to do part of your routes (16/09/24) over the next couple of days 😊
Ohhh I hope you're having a great time!
Thank you very much for a very enjoyable vlog. I really enjoyed the trip. The dronework was really good, and the caves looked magic. It looks like you had a few good days, although the weather is now turning wet and cold. 👍👍👍
Thank you, it was an adventure!
Nice one and interesting to see how big M&P are as I've bought several items from them over the years not realising how large an outfit they are.
Glad I could put an image to your purchases. 😊
Another excellent video thanks Charlie. Amazing scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 😊
Charlie, Another magical trip and footage. The drone footage once again was top drawer ! Thanks for bringing that beautiful scenery into our living rooms. As always stay safe 😊
Thank you Pete, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Wow those falls at the end are spectacular - ride safe
Thank you. 😊
The autumn colours were stunning!
I thought so too. 😍
Greetings from down under. I was spellbound with your latest mesmerizing episode. Thankyou.
Thanks Keith, glad you're still enjoying it. 😊
Great video as always. Loved the drone footage over vyrnwy very professional😊
Thank you 😊
Another stunning video with beautiful music. Look forward to the next one. Safe journeys , all the best to you all.😊
Thank you Dennis. 😊
Hi, your choice of music to go with that spectacular Welsh scenery is zen-like. Very relaxing. How are you getting on with the Lone Rider rig. Is taking it up and down at every stopover worth the standing room? Cheers from Alabama
Hi over there in Alabama! Glad you're enjoying the channel. The line rider is SO easy to take up and down daily. 😊
As always, a beautiful and fascinating video Charlie, thank you!
I always look forward to my weekend pleasure of the exploits of Charlie and Roger 🙂
Stay safe x
Thank you! I will try not to stop over the winter. 😊
Great shot from that lake, more perfect you can't get. Stunning symmetry in that shot. Great editing again Charlie. Cheers,Danny
Thank you Danny, I wasn't sure it would come across as well on camera as it did in person.
Thanks again Charlie for your video. What great shots around lake Vyrnwy!! One question, see you are wearing an Iron Jias raincoat. Looks good (everything looks good on you :) But what is your experience, is it comfortable? Kind regards, Jan.
Hi, I have to say it is a great coat, it's been waterproof, wind proof, big enough to fit over my coat comfortably, and is reflective enough to be seen well in bad weather. 😊
Stunning Drone footage Charlie…. Let me know which Grotto Jay will be working this Christmas and I’ll come and sit on his lap..I’ve got a list you know..😄x
Hahahahhahaha I bet you have a long long list Dickie! But have you been good? 😊
From the looks of the roads your enjoying, I'd say Roger is more than adequate for pleasurable touring. Loved the trip. No more Harley for me, a Meteor does the trick.
The FE range definitely have something for everyone. 😊
Hi Charlie, another cracking series, really enjoyed that... Are you SURE you're not sponsored by the Welsh Tourist Board?! Now you'll know why those of us who are based in South Wales aren't rushing across the bridge to tour round Swindon. :)
I simply don't understand it, swindon is just a brilliant place. 🤣
Wow, you put me to shame, I don't do wet "n" and camping, you do both! Amazing editing wonderful scenery, great content. I loved it.
Skin is waterproof.🤣 It's doable knowing it's just for a short while. 😊
Hi Charlie, Thanks a lot to take me on this tour. I always look Your beautiful Videos. But I´m not always be in the mood to leave a comment. Now it´s cold in the north of Germany, but I think to make Sunday a small ride. Have a good time. Best regards, Rüdiger
Hi! Hope you have managed to get out now. 😊
Another epic trip Charlie, shame about the weather but hey ho.!
Amused me when you're looking round the bike shop at what you can't afford, we all do that🤣 I also look at what I can't reach the ground on🙄🏍️
Stay safe🤗 can't wait for the next adventure.😄
I also look at what I can't touch the floor on! 🤣
Hi Charlie, another great vlog. I've just done the lake and water fall today albeit in a volvo, you missed the chance to do hellfire pass from the lake to Dinas mawddwy 12 miles of great single track road with stunning scenery and very steep drops, maybe next time.
Regards Brad.
Always love a reason to go back to great places! 😏
This was a wonderful ride. I have watched quite a few of your videos but this really stood out for me. They are ALL GOOD. But, this especially. Your are a treasure. Greetings from a Yank who one day hopes to travel those same roads.
Thank you, I'm glad you have enjoyed the series 😁
Love those reflections! How absolutely gorgeous those shots are 👍.
It was so still and glassy. 😍
Beautiful footage, excellent editing and lovely music. 10/10.
Thanks Rab. 😊
If you could afford one of those bikes you wouldn't be doing what you're doing now with yours. Wednesday night bike nights anyone? Himi, s a great bike.
True that. 😊
The Lara Croft (tomb raider) of motorbiking .I love your video's and long may you carry on as you take this old boy on many a ride that I should of done ages ago when I was younger .Love and best wishes, Dave
I'm so glad you're able to travel with me metaphorically Dave. 😊
I love your videos and especially places I have been too , did you go to the cathedral in St David's, hope you bought some waterproof over gloves in m&p ready for your next trip 😊
Hi Debbie, I didn't make the Cathedral, we had a lot of miles to do and I wanted to see the caves. I have literally just bought some heated and allegedly waterproof gloves.!
thank you for another fantastic tour series Charlie.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Thanks to your videos, it has made me think of touring Wales next year with motorcycle and tent. Ride safe my friend
Get out there and do it! It's a fabulous experience. 😊
Waterfall shots were great. You might be interested in you tube video at fortNine on why your gortex is not water proof, it's an entertaining short physics lesson. Aired last week.
Hi, I did manage to watch that since posting this. 😊
Charlie that was a great video, lovely footage especially liked the drone vantage point at the waterfalls. Thank You for sharing.
Thank you. 😊
Thank you for this video. The waterfall was surprising because it looks as it was coming from the very top of the hill. There was a little lake up there ?
There was a stream that feeds the fall, and the ground just drops away. 😊
Thanks for sharing 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🍻 from British Columbia
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Cracking series of videos lass, reminds us of when we went earlier in year 😊
Glad you like them! 😊
That was a brilliant Tour series Charlie. Awesome drone footage as ever. I agree Autumn is a beautiful time, mind you, I will admit that wet leaves on the lanes frighten the life out of me on my bike - living in a forest doesn’t help 😆. Looking forward to your next vid whatever that may be.
I do take it very easy on the leaves! 😱 Glad you enjoyed the vlog. 😊
Ah, ‘Vlog’ 👍. I’m an old git so call them videos🤪 but will remember for future. Stay safe.@@restdayrider
You make me want to go on a trip to those places.👍
You should! 😊
Absolutely Charlie! You inspire me and I guess a lot of riders to get out and do what you do. Also buy a drone because your footage is first class 😊
Getting out and believing you can do it, solo or with friends is key. Because we all can! 😊
Nice video Charlie, I have been drawn back to Wales in the past couple of years as well even though I can be in Ullapool in about 4 hours! Loving the drone shots👍
Give Wales a go. 😊
Beautiful shots, Charlie. What a great trip that was! Again, you guys are courageous to sleep in tents!
The dam bridge view is spectacular!
The caves exhibit is awesome! What a great place to visit.
If you guys drive on the left side of the roads... on the highway, the passing lane is on the right?
Do you guys use the imperial system to measure? I thought UK used the metric system... 🤷♀️
Great vid! Ride safe!
Hi Judith, we ride on the left, so on a highway ( motorway) you overtake slower vehicles on the right. 😊
Hi Charlie how do you arrive at all those great country roads for scenery ? Thks
I just pick destinations, then look at the maps and choose the smallest roads to get to them! 🤣
Great, many thanks
Fabulous images Charlie, really enjoyed this one!
Thank you 😊
Motorcycles and Wales, perfect combination.
I agree. 😊
Super camera views and the falls reveal was especially good.
Thank you. 😊
Beautiful! I have taken note of all the places you visited for a future trip
Fabulous! You will love it. 😊
Good Morning Charlie , Thank you once again for sharing your latest adventure with us , your drone footage was stunning as was the dam , so as always take care & ride safe
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Outstanding video!!! Wonderful adventure!!!
Thank you 😊
Tent flex is good - if too rigid things can snap & break !!
That's good to know actually! Thanks 😊
What a wonderful tour despite the weather. Excellent droneage too! Thanks for sharing Charlie 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Gorgeous colours around that waterfall. Lone Rider looked like it was breathing in and out
Hahaha it actually does look like that! 🤣
Definitely 😊
If we had the weather, wales is utterly spectacular and plenty wide open non 20 mph (at the moment). As an ex water sports enthusiast I cannot understand why more of these beautiful lakes aren’t used for such. In France you can use virtually any lake for any water sport. Bala is the only one I think and no powercraft. Such a waste but others will not feel the same. Really enjoyed ur welsh episode
I suspect there are restrictions as it's all national park.
This was a superb series, Charlie! Wales is so beautiful.
It really is. 😊
A excellent mini series really enjoyed Charlie ❤
Thank you 😊
Cracking video but I can't believe you didn't take the opportunity to ride over Bwlch Y Groes while you were at Lake Vyrnwy, it's the second highest motorable pass in Wales and only fractionally lower than the Gospel Pass. It's a lovely ride up to it from the head of Lake Vyrnwy.
I didn't know about that one! I'll have to go back. 😊
@@restdayrider Definitely worth exploring the area around \lake Vyrnwy again!
Thank you Charlie! My Great grandfather was full blood Welsh and it is so nice to such beautiful scenery from my grandfathers home land. I had no idea what it looked like in Whales. I think I would feel write at home there.
Glad I could help you see your grandfather's home land. 😊
Wow, fair play you covered a fair bit of ground there, the Rhiwagor waterfall at Vrynwy is amazing. The Celtic camp site in the summer extends to app 10-12 fields rammed with holiday makers, it might have been windy , but at least it was quiet per footfall! Looking forward to your next adventures. You missed M&P dealership at Swansea on the return, it has a cafe attached as well so you could have had a meal onboard, with a few more bike dealerships inside.
We were deciding between Swansea and Cardiff but Cardiff was more on the way home!
I actually live closer to Cardiff than Swansea but would prefer the latter dealership....its just literally off Jct 47, rather than the phaff of Cardiff. Thanks for showcasing Wales, sorry about the 20's but thats another issue!!!.... If your ever planning South Wales, your more than most welcome to have a few pointers to some great rides and views.....best wishes.@@restdayrider
Fab!😁😁👍
We went over the Gospel pass a day before you , and you went through Llanwtyd Wells where we stayed for one night in a b&b Charlie ,but we need to go back to do the Devil's Staircase whooppiiii love your adventures but camping isn't for us definitely when on our bikes 😄👍✅✅
Oh forgot to add ,when we got over the Pass there was a land slide so had to come back over it again struggling with the wind ,mud animal poo and gravel,I nearly lost my Tiger twice ,phew! Still not sure how I stayed on but thank the lord I did .I'm 68 at Christmas and just back to biking after 17 years away ,and IM LOVING IT Charlie it's the best hobby and life changing decision I've made to give me my life back ❤❤❤
That is SO good to hear Pamela, I'm so glad you're out there doing it ! 😊
That's just lovely. Good stuff!
Thank you 😊
Cracking video Charlie, you saved the best till last 👌I'm glad the weather was kind to you this time😉Loved this series👍
Thanks Rab. 😊
What sleepingbag do you use?
I use the OEX down one, packs SO small and has a max low temp of -30 something!
Great wee trip all documented beautifully, well done.
Thank you 😊
I know Roger is your pride and joy, but you really need to have a look at the new Himalayan. Not that you would ever change Roger I'm sure. 😊
I am going to see it on Saturday but I suspect Roger is safe. 😊
So is Roger safe for the time being. 😊
For me that was the best one yet. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it John. 😊
Another great adventure, thank you for sharing 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Really enjoyed watching that thanks for the 6 day trip. You should put the route up some amazing places.
I may well sit down over winter and do that. 😊
@restdayrider we don't sit down in winter we get heated gear on and get out 😂
That too. 🤣
Oh, I don't know where to start with the positives! For us, the highlight has to be Lake Vyrnwy ... not a breath of wind, creating those gorgeous mirror images of the trees on the water! The caves too were amazing and I know you had to miss Smoo Caves on your NC500 trip but hopefully you'll see those too one day! The clips of the waterfall show how a drone can capture an angle not otherwise possible. Fabulous episode Charlie, thank you 🥰
Thank you both! Glad you enjoyed it, can't wait to get out there again already! 🤣
@@restdayrider 🤗
Another wonderful video.
As a novice rider (and Himmy owner), I’m about 2yrs behind you. You really are something of an inspiration to me and Rupert (the RE handbook says the digital compass can be out by up to 45 degrees, hence the bike is called Rupert. If you know, you know 😉).
Keep the videos coming.
I'm guessing it's Rupert Bear? I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊
@@restdayriderNooooo. Young officers in the army are known as ‘Rupert’s’. They are also known for being poor at navigatio 😊
🤣
Looks amazing. Can you share the What3Word addresses for the lovely bits?
I will have to sit down over winter and do this. 😊
@@restdayrider Not sure how much of a ballache it would be, but the W3W on the screen at a lovely bit would be great!
Noted, I always take suggestions on. 😊
I'm just taking first steps toward some vlogging and stumbled on your channel. As a Paramedic myself, I totally get the vibe. Really enjoying your presentation and editing. I'm full of ideas but sadly lack the tech skills...gonna be a steep curve.
Hi! welcome to the channel fellow Para! It is a learning curve and I can't really make any good suggestions other than play with stuff, don't I vest in new to start with, second hand kit is just fine! 😊
Good advice, I've got the winter to practice! Was going for an Akaso camera to start with. Probably get plenty of queuing so time to research.
Hahahhaa, yeah that's a real thing. 😭
Keep singing Charlie!
Alrighty then! 🤣
that was a fab vid charlie
Thanks 👍
Well done Charlie! 👌
Thanks 😊
Awesome sweetheart.
Thank you 😊
👍😊
Hello, it's me again, "millinutz Steve". I jast wanted to correct you. I live in SWITZERLAND... not Sweden !!!
Oh Gawd, sorry! I bet Switzerland is beautiful. 😂
What great scenery you have over there. We have planned on 2 weeks for our UK retirement trip, this does not look to be enough time. Thanks for another great video!
2 weeks is definitely not long enough to explore Scotland, Wales and England, let alone consider a hop over to Ireland.
@@restdayrider I agree, only solid plan is to visit Manchester for Corrie set, wife is a big fan. Some what planning rest out, will need a return visit for sure!
Theres a road that links Lake Bala and Lake Vyrnwy. Amazing little route👍
Ill have a look if I go again. 😊
EPIC!! Such a beautiful country, fabulous footage Charlie, thank you for sharing your adventures, amazing drone work and we love your music.
Thank you! I'm learning as I go with the recording and editing. 😊
nice one charlie
Glad you enjoyed wales, although it can rain a bit, stunning when the sun shines, great vlog, loved watching,👏👏🏴✊,da iawn y ty
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Lovely video's again. I'm struggling between the African Twin or the Himalayan as this will be my last bike being nearly 67. My last bike was a Diversion 900, no lightweight. So many bike video's on here but addicted to Itchy boots and what she is achieving going solo.
It would be a dream to be able to live pretty much on the road like Noraly . 😍
The nights here where I live in Sweden is geting around freezingpoint. Going for carcamping this sunday with a friend. We have had a lot of rain for weeks now. Waiting for sunny days so I can ride my bike. Love gravel and offroad but know that I have to wash my bike every time. Not funny at all...
Sweden would be so nice , maybe next year. 😍
I love your productions; the mix of cheerful, witty commentary, brief documentation of trip details, outstanding cinematography including landscapes and attractions you visit accompanied by excellent music choices. Well done!
Thank you very much! 😊
Hi Charlie, looks like your Welsh trip was great, what a beautiful part of this country to ride through, as you said west of Scotland is stunning but there are some awesome places in Wales, i can’t wait to get back there next yr, loved the tower in the dam , they don’t make buildings as grand as that these days , thank you, Mitch 👍
It's a beautiful place Mitch 😊
Wow, beautiful, get lucky with the weather and this area is hard to beat. Great music perfect. 😮😮😮😮
It does have some stunning routes. 😊
Great video Charlie beautiful places to visit drone shots brilliant the drone really gives you a complete enjoyment of the places that you visit
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
What a fantastic adventure, I’m from North Wales originally, but there is so much of the country I am yet to explore ! One tent tip that I find works for me, I usually place my tent side on to the sea as 4 out of 5 times the wind is either coming from the sea or heading towards the sea, and tunnel tents cope better with the wind side on. 👍🏻
Thank you for the tip! 😊
“Fabulous!”...as they say in Wales...well done again Charlie 😀👍🏍🏍🏍
Thank you. 😊
Thanks for sharing another fabulous adventure! Great editing & music (even your own is fun) on top of gorgeous scener! Wow. Thank you!
Thanks so much! 😊
I applaud you and the lads to commit to several days of uncertain weather that is getting colder! Excelent videos that proove it to be worth it and very good advertising for the beauty to be found in and around Wales.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
