Assalamu alaikum As a non arabic speaker and someone wishing to pursue islamic knowledge I need some guidance. What books would be recommended to initiate this journey? Secondly, if a person says that they have been studying islam for 3 years. What is the expectation from that person regarding the knowledge or he books they should have been able to go through in these three years.
If you can get a hold of a teacher then that would be best but for your case of being a non arabic speaker I recommend the Madinah books, tasheel-unnahwa and to look for a nahw-ul-wadih course on youtube, these three things will create that basis for you. I know they sound random but the three work for me currently. Oh and to answer your second question there isn't really an expectation, so long as you dedicate yourself to the path and strive for the sake of Allah even if you only learnt a single letter in those three years then certainly Allah will be pleased with you, Insha-allah. I hoped this helped.
Dear brother. The prophet himself used to knit and sew his own clothes sometimes. It is not reasonable to ridicule and taunt people who do it, even implicitly.
Dear brother the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم used to mend his ripped clothes and shoes not knit sweaters for cats. Please don’t attribute to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم what he didn’t do. There is NO HADĪTH that shows the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم knitting
@@MasjidRibat First off, according to Miriam Webster, to *knit* is the act of “forming by interlacing yarn or thread in a series of connected loops with needles” or “link firmly and closely” , and sewing is of close meaning as well, so playing this semantics game doesn’t look good for you brother. In addition, a closer look into the thesaurus provides you with the word “knit” as being related to “sew”, my dear brother. Thus, according to what I’ve presented, I very much disagree with your statement of me attributing something to the prophet that he did not do. Have you ever thought of how he “*mends*” his clothes, dear brother?? Or is it that you’re simply afraid of using these words for some reason? Finally, please do tell me, what is wrong with making clothes for cats, if there is anything suspicious in the first place? My only request is to simply not taunt people for such small stuff akhi. Not only this, but literal “knitting” is probably the *closest* that you can get to sewing, something for which you yourself should admire rather than disrespect the person.

More helpful tips from Shaykh Uthman. You’re videos have been extremely educational, especially for me as a revert. Just the other day I watched the video of Shaykh demonstrating wudu and I’ve utilized the knowledge to make some slight adjustments to improve my technique, JZK.
But I honestly don’t understand why so many are jumping on the let’s mock knitting bandwagon. Was that video really that bad?
very very useful may ALLAH accept you Sheikh love from kashmir
Maktabah Shamila.. do they have translations in english?
You guys are very fortunate to have Shaykh Uthman. Great teaching style and manners. May Allah preserve him. Aameen.

After all these years I realized, this is all unncessary. I use an ipad now, and even tho it might seem expensive to buy one, in the long run it is cheaper and more efficient. in an iPad you get all of these built in and it's portable and you can backup everything. These items you buy can get stolen, but your backups are always saved in the cloud.
I prefer not to buy these.
@@enacausmembrane That's an even better idea though I don't really trust apple as a company, their products look really nice but as a company they do a lot of questionable things, like going against the right to repair, violating data privacy etc but thank you though I'll look into getting an android tablet, root the device then use foss applications and stuff. I recommend you do the same thing if you can, it'll give you more control over your own product and your data.
Once again, 1 dislike is from Shaytaan :p

Obviously some muslim out of some hatred or something disliked the video, but calling him Shaytan is going beyond the bounds. Becareful Ikhwaan with your words.

@@youssef9021 Get a Pilot Metropolitan they’re the best starter ones and they last, cost about £20
@@xorpe7172 mmm, I’ll mean, £20 is a bit too much, I’m just saying things like £3 £5, are they gonna bad quality, they worth it?
@@youssef9021 You can get them for that much but them ones you probably won’t be able to open to refill when they run out of ink, also they won’t write THAT well but there’s no problem in buying one

As a non arabic speaker and someone wishing to pursue islamic knowledge I need some guidance.
I hoped this helped.
jazakallah Khairan shaykh
Salam Sheikh, is that a lamy 2000 I see??
Are you taking students Sheikh? I'll come from Houston for a few weeks or a month or so. I am learning Arabic right now and memorizing the Quran
