Thank you so much for offering these valuable lectures. The more I understand about the author the better I appreciate theses classics. To sit in on class by Professor Weil is absolutely priceless, unquestionably one of the top professors from any university anywhere.

I'm in love with Dostoevsky's works since for the first time i read Notes from underground. It touches me deep. Then I read Crime and Punishment.

Thank you so much for your comprehensive video's of these historically important lectures (in my humble opinion).
I especially enjoyed your personal reasons that led to your recordings which I found very clear; enjoyable; thorough and a joy to listen to. You clearly recorded these historic chapters of this great writer & Irwin's lectures, with great respect and understanding. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

    I'm inclined to think Dostoyevsky's father wasn't murdered :-
"His father's official cause of death was an apoplectic stroke, but a neighbour, Pavel Khotiaintsev, accused the father's serfs of murder. Had the serfs been found guilty and sent to Siberia, Khotiaintsev would have been in a position to buy the vacated land. The serfs were acquitted in a trial in Tula, but Dostoevsky's brother Andrei perpetuated the story."
