Community feedback and corrections: - Big thanks to Sephiblack (a top German player) for some excellent feedback , who suggested we should have placed the last couple of Top Moves into Situational Moves. Stuff like b+4 and f+2, 4, 4 (more a noob killer than anything) are not staples by any stretch and overall very risky at high level play. On the other hand b+3 should be considered a top move; so many strong options on block since it's both neutral and forces crouch. - After b+1+2 a f+2, 3 is guaranteed if the opponent doesn't duck, meaning it can set up a pretty decent mix-up between that and db+2,1. If the opponent tends to punch a lot when you're around -6 to -9, it can be a decent option, but as with all counters / parries is a big risk. - StormHowl on doing a 3, SNK 3 optimal post scew ender. I left this out because I found it inconsistent, but with this method it's much easier: "Since Shaheen doesn't have a 3+4, if you hold the 4 after the f+244 screw you can dash and hit 3 while still holding 4 for a standing 3 and combo it into SNK3. Its a bit tricky on the timing since you have to press the SNK3 as soon as he reaches the end of his dash but its actually very consistent if you launch at close range." - Neon_Redd: "Quick correction: It is possible to land 3~SNK 2 from a tip range d/f+2. You just need to delay the 3 a little. It's pretty easy." - Mike Shark: "CH SNK4 into WS 3,3 will do slightly more damage and, at certain distances, wallsplat and net you at least a f+3+4. In case it was inconsistent I tried it on Xiaoyu as well as the bears. Mashing 3 works every time." - Beatmil: "Shaheen SNK 1+2 throw can actually be break by 2 and 1+2. Love you videos senpai
That Blasted Salami Can you please make Character Breakdown for Hwoarang? I've been struggling for a long time trying master Hwoarang but my moves get punished a bit too often... He's been my favorite character since Tekken 3(which also means I've not been a great player since tekken3) so it would be really great if you could help guys like me out.... Thanks
Exactly the level of quality we all expect from this series. Great stuff, shoutouts to Damokles for an awesome job giving the video some extra flavour.
When I first played tekken 7 shaheen was my first pick. I love his design and fighting style. And now thanks to this guide I can further enjoy him. Thanks for the great guide! Also 100% props for the Arabic language fantastic touch.
Thank you my friends, it was a great idea - I really wanna see more kind of this videos 💕
Finally, my main gets his own breakdown and it's a fantastic video as always. The second Shaheen was announced for the game, I immediatly knew I wuld main him and he quickly became one of my favorite characters to play in all fighting games, especially due to his effective yet stylish moveset and amazing looking design (and maybe the fact that he's as handsome as that guy that got banned from Saudi Arabia for being too handsome). Also, HUGE shoutout to Damocles for the arabic narration and presentation of Shaheen, it was an amazing touch to the video as since we're getting more characters from the Middle East with Rashid and Najd, it's great to give more representation to the region as well so great job guys and thank you for the video.
No worries I banned the spambot :) Thank you for the kind words! I'm also really glad to see more positive Middle Eastern representation in FGs this gen. Very encouraging.
I picked up shaheen recently. He's the most fun I've ever had playing a character. He really does have every tool needed to win if you play accordingly.
I can actually see the effort and amount of research put into this guide. Well put together and super helpful! Made me pick up Shaheen. Appreciate it famkeep it up
love these breakdowns! I'm just getting into tekken and fighting games in general so this has been a big help. I would love to see a Bob tutorial soon :)
Got a huuuuge dose of nostalgia as soon as I heard the music. The Prince of Persia soundtrack was an excellent choice! Completely caught me off guard, and your guide is spectacular as always. Amazing job Salami! Your work is much appreciated! Although I'm surprised you didn't mention Shaheen's max damage 3+4 SNK3 combo ender. Since Shaheen doesn't have a 3+4, if you hold the 4 after the f+244 screw you can dash and hit 3 while still holding 4 for a standing 3 and combo it into SNK3. Its a bit tricky on the timing since you have to press the SNK3 as soon as he reaches the end of his dash but its actually very consistent if you launch at close range. I don't think I've ever missed it even with a full range hop kick punish.
That's some great advice. I did know about the combo (we mention this cancel in the rage section) but didn't know the method for landing it consistently. Thanks man!
I don't understand the language this video is being narrated in but I love the fact that you take your foreign audience serious like this. props to you sir, for being so inclusive!
I would really love to see a Hwoarang guide, but I can’t imagine how hard it will be to make the guide, as he has a plethora of moves, and covering all of his stances will be very long. Another EXCELLENT guide as always!! I’ve been wanting to learn Shaheen, and now I have an EXCELLENT guide to help me do so :D
PoP: The Sands of Time is one of the best games of the PS2/Xbox era. Makes me happy to know other people appreciate that games soundtrack as much as I do. Good shit Salami
omg dude, I'm trying him out rn in practice mode and I can see he's been quite buffed since the time of the video, like SNK 2 is safe on block now like WOW it makes me wanna play him even more
Another excellent guide by you guys, you're always doing amazing work. Can't wait to see more. The music selection for this video was absolutely HALAL shantae was a nice choice. But that pillar men theme song though.....
The Arabic in the beginning is so cool! I started playing him for fun after Putting in ton of training with both Lars and Lee. He feels similar to Lee as you stated without the demand of execution. Shaheen is admittedly very fun.
As someone who's new to Tekken overall. Shaheen's appeal to me was like so: Be simplistic, flow like water. Know when to advance, but also have defence. Play the mental game of chess, as they try with you. But keep your wits about you.
Sick guide. Quick minor thing: For the CH f+3 combo at 1:04:55, the onscreen notation has a ws+4 when the narration/proper move is ws+3. Might wanna just do an annotation there in case anybody is confused about it :)
Excellent work as always. High quality content, very detailed and well illustrated. Adding the Arabic narration in the intro is a very nice touch. You guys were spot on with the music selection. Loved the transitions at 32:17 and 34:27 Looking forward for your next video
I’m in my internship right now, and I saw this right after we returned to our base. The exact minute and I feel so happy that you guys acknowledged that Shaheen is very strong. You’ve finished my 3rd main Josie, my 2nd main Shaheen, please do a breakdown for Feng.
I AM OP Yoshimitsu is actually next from other comments ive read.. Nina is after yoshi then i think again. As for Hwoarang I agree he needs a guide too, something a little better from Arsenalty's or Tendo's (forgot who) one 😂
they are quite similar in behaviour and general gameplan, but lee has those hitbox moving stances and has a bit more of a "dodging theme" to him. But yes they definitely are similar
Neil Tamani actually Shaheen is a riskier but more straightforward Law with more range. Risky because with his limited move set, he tends to follow a flowchart for beginner players and plus frames are hard to come by and straightforward because it’s just really about frustrating your opponent then hitting then with a juicy punish or launcher
Ngl, Ive been having a crisis finding a main for a long while, but I think this video is exactly what I needed to finally decide. I absolutely love Shaheen's playstyle and he looks so good while doing it
@@jxff2000 having two years of experience with him, I can definitely say he's absolutely worth it. He may not be the most complicated character, but I feel I'm far more consistent and focused because of how little I need to remember with my own character. I can instead focus more on my opponent.
I already know how to use him, but that sneak cancel will save. And that LowHigh Sneak Cancel Rage Combo was crazy. I need to try that out in a game. 1:03:49
Thanks man. I haven’t picked up tekken in a while and this is my pocket main to get used to counterhit playstyle so that I can actually learn how to play Law’s counterhit playstyle instead of spamming D.tail and db3. Still getting used to a stick and still new to the serious FG scene so this video is very much appreciated in case I can comeback from my studies for licensure exam
Love the ki charge after the gimmicky win, nice touch. For the mini-combo section, CH ws+1 gives enough frames for a free 4,1 into a mix-up or f+2,3 if you are going for damage. If you want to be fancy, CH ws+1, also guarantees a throw attempt and on the forgotten realm stage 2+4 will cause a floor break into a combo.
Hey man i really love your tekken essentials and breakdowns, honestly theyre the best in youtube in my opinion, id love to see one on yoshi if thats possible man, great job on the vids bro

Your commitment is insane, best fighting game channel of all time!
Awesome intro in Arabic so boss!
The best down-forward 1 is Heihachi's because it is +9 on hit and -1 on block, it has good string extensions and very vital to Heihachi's gameplan.
Three seconds in and I just saw my 2nd main Anna. Anna DLC confirmed (PLEASE!!!).
She was confirmed a couple of days ago! I'm ecstatic! She has been my main for a long time.
