I bought one of these a few weeks ago to record off several laserdiscs. It works great on my Mac! It did cost a bit much compared to other options but it had some great reviews. I'm glad I bought it.

the fundamental question is: DOES IT DEINTERLACE? and I mean, properly deinterlace, outputting 60fps, not truncated 30fps video.
I bought Video Capture with with the link after viewing your video. So easy to use! Thank You! I am having an issue with audio static both channels. Video is very good. I have latest I7 Lenovo YOGA but VCR is old Emerson. Ran tape cleaner. Any suggestions?
analog 16:9 videos are not 360p, they are 480p but are anamorphically squished, so they should end up as 852x480 after desquishing.
The product has arrived to have sound but no image. I contacted the manufacturer poor service do not recommend
What do you plug into the videocam and where? The only place I have on my Sony High8 is a place to put in one of the colored cables -- but it doesn't seem to fit properly.
Appreciate the review. I just bought one and using on a DVD/VCR player. Unfortunately when I play the VHS tape it appears on my TV, but software defaults to DVD. Do you know how to switch to VHS?

There are a ton of knock offs for as little as $20 on Amazon since this video was produced. How do they stack up compared to the Elgato, Hauppage or other capture devices like DVRs?

Probably you should search for a video interface with firewire connection to "copy" the pure digital video with no re-encode it (most miniDV camcorders have it). But I've never used them. If your camcorder had composite output (yellow, red and white RCA cables) you could use this video capture, but I guess the quality probably would be poorer comparing to use the firewire connection.

Only on my older computers. I have a gaming system setup with i5 processor and it does just fine.
Do not click "record" on the elgato interface until your SOURCE deck is fully up to speed. If you click record on the elgato screen, and then start your VCR, you will likely experience SYNC problems.
hey what does mute sound mean ? is it mutting sound from where its recording on the vcr or is it mutting the noise incase of popups or update sounds ???
No, it's just turning off the sound so you can record/transfer in peace. It still records the audio, but allows you to record in the background so you can still use your computer to do other things.
Its useless for me the video picture is not fully on your computer screen like television screen. we need full picture on my computer screen like you tube formats.
when your mac wasn't capable of processing the video in high resolution, did you get a notification or were you able to tell from the pixelation?
I never got a notification, just noticed the quality of the video was bad and then did a second transfer on my PC.
I have been using this product for 6 months. Everything works fine on PC or MacBook. Only one think, always check the footage, because your players have not TBC? the audio is not synchronized. I recommned you do an upscale, because the quality of digitazed video is poor.
I just bought this device to record my PS1/2 Gameplays and all I hear is a loud buzzing sound, I do get the Game audio but it also has a buzzing sound. Everything is plugged in the right place and I already installed the drivers and the Software, is there any solution for this? I'm on desktop with Windows 10.

I bought this and tried to use it and it kept saying no signal. I tried different cables and nothing.
Is it possible that, that one's faulty and if you bought another one then the new one will be ok? They sound, to me, to be a bit hit and miss.
