Ichi straight up calls him Kiryu-san, so it's definitely a Taichi Suzuki situation and not a Joji one. It makes sense to me he'd be in this, because he was working with Seong-hui on something, from what I remember and was staying in the shadows, hence new name and... hairstyle. This is probably what the Gaiden is going to cover, especially since it involves a job.
And I just don't get complaints about Kiryu getting games still. He's the face of the series and you don't just throw that away. He obviously can't help himself and is prone to finding his way into trouble. Even ignoring the main stories, all the substories proves he's a problem magnet.
Well you know what they say.
A dragon can be done with Trouble. But trouble sure as hell can’t be done with a dragon.
Because they keep trying to end his story and then backpedal. Kuroda can't play him forever and we might not actually get a definitive ending for Kiryu if they keep failing to commit.

While I’m not sold on new Kiryu’s K-pop hair in Y8, I don’t have any problem with him returning as protagonist again. I think RGG originally plan Kiryu to pass the torch to Ichiban in Y7 with the fight and everything. Then they must be realized the potential interaction between Kiryu and Ichiban, old-school dragon and the new blood. Which is very interesting. My dream theory about gameplay is we alternate between 2 protagonist just like Y0, but we fight as 2 party instead of single character. We can have Ichiban’s team with Adachi, Namba, Saeko. And Kiryu’s team with Akiyama, Seong-hui or other character. We may have some brawler gameplay when important fight happen or more QTE in boss fight.

@@ReiSyre62 dead souls, in rgg's words, is dead and buried. they don't want dead souls to exist or be remembered in the modern era anymore because it was such a horrible game. even if the game does get remade, it'll be vastly different in format.

My problem with kiryu coming back was always that he just turned up in front of majima and daigo for no reason and then them never talking to them which hurt 6's ending, especially daigo. If he is coming back again, I'm glad that they're changing his appearance a little. I'd still rather they leave Yakuza 6 alone but if this is how they're doing it, I can still get behind this

Yakuza 6 had bad ending. I’m all in about his stand alone game with classic gameplay but him coming back for 8 is a bit shitty for me, cause I really dislike the gameplay of 7 after trying 5 chapters.
@@nickgreene9456 even if people didn't like it, it still happened so you have to explain why he's back in the first place. As someone who liked 6, him just turning up again felt disrespectful to his send off. I'm also glad to see him back, I just hope it gets a better explanation than last time.
@@dragonkamran I do like 6 but it has it's problems. What I'm looking forward to about his spin off is that we've had 2 judgment games of them refining dragon engine combat and now we're going back to kiryu. Playing that game is gonna be hype.

Since there’s going to be some changes to Ishin’s soundtrack I wonder how the final boss music will be changed. As the original version was one of the best final boss themes in the whole franchise imo.
ESRB site also rated PC versions of Judgment and Lost Judgment,so I guess we will see the announcements soon too.

Would be dope to have a Majima Spin Off. I miss the series being a beat em up rather than a turn based RPG. They doing my boy Kiryu dirty with that BTS hair style.
I don't have any compliants about Kiryu being in more games. I think that all this is leading up to him having a permanent happy ending, that is what I'm hoping for at least
