This was a super helpful video! I flew mine for the first time yesterday. I live in Southern California and we have a huge atmospheric river of storms hitting our area right now. So I wasn’t able to do very much flying. I did fly inside a few times, and then outside a few times. Even with the limited flying, I had a blast! This little guy is absolutely fun, and it’s so easy! The easy part just adds to the whole experience. I bought two extra batteries, as well as the charger. Next up I have two 8bitdo controllers coming. I know one particular model works, but I am trying another one from 8bitdo which has two joysticks. I hope it works. Anyway I will be bringing the drone with me when I go on vacation with my wife in BVI on a 42 foot Catamaran. Although we will be on the water, I do think I’ll be able to send the drone up for the occasional straight up and down shot when we are moored or at anchor. I will NOT be sending it out over the water though. Cheers!
This little drone works great for a quick action shot, and when you don't want to carry around a bunch of camera gear. Go along with the GO2 or GO3 action camera. Video is also good...
I have to manually fly a DJI drone to grab footage. I like that Hover Air X1, just wish it had some obstacle avoidance sensors. I guess it's a really good drone for some B-roll footage.
Thanks for this video! Wasn’t expecting this when I subscribed to this channel. Can you get it to hover behind you while you are facing away and also moving? I’m think about using it to film you from behind practicing pickle ball or playing several shots of golf, like waking down a hole, not just set in one spot.
I got mine about three weeks ago. Does exactly what it says it will do. Hook the video up to your phone and it's clear and the rotor noise is gone. Is it perfect... no, but for a small drone it works very well.
I'm picturing an overzealous engineer, walking into George Eastman's office in the 1890s saying, "Boss, I have a great idea for our next camera. I'm going to make one that can only take pictures of its owner!" I wonder what ol' George would have said to that...
Have you tried going indoors with that drone? Maybe just start out walking into your garage as it follows you? I'm curious for a Real Estate friend I have. Thanks!
i have used the Hover mode inside my garage and it did okay. not sure i would try any other modes inside since there is no obstacle avoidance. And also, it's downward cameras read the ground surface and it needs to have texture, so probably wouldnt do well on the laminate floors in my house... would be great for aeriel shots of a property though. real estate is definitely a use i did not think of.
follows you! you only need phone for audio, it recognizes your face, if you dont hold with the camera facing you, it wont launch, it give a voice command to face the user.
@@pbase36 I have a DJI and it will not even start at my house because I live with in 5 miles of the airport, if its 1/2 inch off the ground its in FAA airspace unfortunately DJI builds it into the software. I did buy the Hover Air X1 and its fine
@@GarysE-BikeAdventures That's news to me! I thought that height was restricted due to airport proximity, and THAT's what was built into DJI's systems. I'd be kinda pissed if I spent that much $ and couldn't even take off to film at head-height.
@@pbase36 trust me I’ve got a drone and I spent $800 on sitting in my closet for the last four years I brought it to my work and it would only allow me to go up to 100 feet because there was a Hella port at a hospital nearby
Pretty cool, but at $399.00 not a good value when you consider you can buy a DJI Mini SE for less $339 that does all the same follow-me modes plus a lot more.
The mini SE doesn't seem to have a quick push button feature, you need to attach it to your phone to fly it. That's one of the big selling points of this drone, quick setup and shut down. The mini has no "follow" mode, and this unit doesn't require GPS
I cannot help but think the first thing I would do with this. I guess it goes off of a tracker that you carry or your phone when connected to the app. I would have to slip my phone or the tracker into somebody’s coat pocket. Throw a sheet over top of this drone and set it to follow. Some poor folk and have a heart attack with a ghost chasing them. Lol.
This is my king of gadget. I seen another guy try to use it and he did not understand how to get to to work for him. I thank you for this video. I’m like you want something that can automatic fly itself. Now I’m trying to see if I as still going to get the instant 360 camera or this drone. Hmm
i have never tried the insta360 but that would probably be better for daily use and high speed, this HoverAir is i think better for dramatic shots or B roll.
This just elevated your channel to a new level

Excellent results, and I wonder if it detects objects like branches to avoid them. I need this SO bad!
best vid I've seen on this device, great work my man.
Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" is the perfect song for this video
Awesome camera and awesome review! I really enjoy your videos. Very informative. Thank you.
Man your information is just great. Love your channel. Please keep it up 👍👍👍 just what I've been looking for.
Thanks! Glad to have you here :)
Great video. What happens when you move about when it's in Orbit mode? Thanks!
I am definitely getting that for my e bike channel!
Non drone question. What product did you use to get that cool stone look in your garage? Love the drone!
It's all handlaid, brick by brick...... Actually it's just 3D wall panels from Amazon.😂
Where do you find this stuff! Phenomenal!
they reached out to me and i couldnt resist :) this thing is great!

Yes, it has a follow feature. You can turn and walk away and it will follow you.

Great video...I was wondering when you were going to use one in your reviews....maybe future...? Great job!
i used it already on my previous video for the intro on the bandit battery video
@@CitizenCycle925 ...I watched that....will have to watch again....... :)
What would be the best speedometer app to download on your phone for your bike
Can you use your Bluetooth headphones as the mic instead of the phone. Through the phone of course
Great video!
Thats so awesome
Really awesome
Two thumbs up 👍👍Another great presentation, of a useful tech product, by a bonafide host. Product & video recommended friend's and family ✌😎
Awesome, thank you!
So cool!
how long of continuous recording will it do ??
10-15min but you can change the battery and it charges quickly. I’ve got two extra batteries that I have never needed to use
If you lose the HoverAir does it have a "find" feature?
starts beeping after 60 sec, you won't find it off a cliff, but you can in grass, shrubs, etc.
That’s pretty cool
I really want one of those. Pretty cool. The audio is my only concern.
audio isnt perfect but you saw the difference from my camera and mic audio. it does a pretty good job.
that is KOOL !!

After watching your video abd how easy it is to use I think that will be a good riding Companion to take on a bike ride ? 😂
Do you know if it has any restrictions on flying? I have a DJI and it won’t even start up at my house as I’m within 5 miles of an airport
that i do not know... no airports near me and i only used it in pretty open settings.
this drone can't fly above 50 feet, so I don't think that would be a problem

@@CitizenCycle925 wow. I’m not sure if that’s interesting or scary. Thanks for the info though.
That's pretty cool i can see law enforcement using something like that.
lets say there are 5 people around, will it get confused or will it still follow just you

Hello Bryan, it's Jen from Freedare. We've emailed you about a potential collaboration and are eagerly awaiting your response.
I was ready to buy it till you stated it can't fly over water. I'm a kayaker and that's what I wanted it for. Oh well better to know the truth.
it can't auto-fly over water. but you can manually fly it over water without a problem.
Thank you for letting me know.@@pbase36
I dont need it bot I want it
As small as that drone is it still might require a FAA Remote Pilot's license to use the video on a monetized RUclips Channel.
