It's one thing for a restaurant to have a couple dozen items on the menu And then they only have a couple that are actually delishious.. but to run a restaurant and most every item is actually delishious is quite an accomplishment in the biz... I would love to visit this place one day. 😋☝️

If you like the flavor of banana leaves you would love Puerto Rican Pasteles. They are similar to a tamale type food but its made with seasoned pork ,plantain bananas wrapped in the banana leaves. They are yummy.
yummy - I eat a lot of dim sum and everything you ate looked so good. loved how you ate the rice in lotus leaf - will try that next time i get it.
The black xlb soup dumpling is black truffle and the white one is filled with kurobuta pork, which is a higher grade of pork. The sticky rice is wrapped in lotus leaf, not banana leaf. The peach shaped bun is filled with lotus seed paste and duck egg yolk.
All the dim sum looked top notch. Harborview is one of the best dim sum and Cantonese seafood restaurants in SF, with good service, decor and water view. Glad you enjoyed it 😋😋

Growing up my mother made "jook" with pork, ginger and green onions (you referred to it as rice soup). So so good.

Watching this I wound up steaming dumplings for breakfast. 😁 In Oaxaca, Mexico they make tamal with banana leaves and it does add an herbaceous flavor to the masa. The northern Mx and TexMex style are what we nearly always get in the states.

This is the first time I saw one of your video. I have to say I was blown away at the way you were consuming that food. I loved it. You really enjoy food. I could have probably only eaten a quarter of what you ate, and I'm a guy, 175 ibs, lol. I also live right across the bay, so I will definitely give Harborview a try for dim sum. Looks good.

I got inspired, ordered from my favorite sichuan restaurant so I could eat with Raina.. I had 3 bites of pork belly, a small bit of rice, 1 steamed dumpling, 1 Rangoon, and a Diet Coke.. and I am so full I wanna die 😂

That last thing u had is lotus paste bun which you’re right, it’s the same filling as you’d find in mooncakes. Usually for birthdays aka Shou Bao.

The sticky rice dim sum is wrapped in lotus leaves. Chinese do not use banana leaves, which I can think of.

Wow I've eaten dim sum but NOT the entire menu! Lol where's the fried taro? Chili oil, lemon and soy sauce is my dim sum dip 😋
It's interesting to see how many yum cha items are the same between the US, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as local variants. For example, in Singapore, I had yum cha of shredded honey-roasted duck. Here in Melbourne you will often find drunken quail on yum cha menus, and (my favourite) steamed tofu topped with prawns and scallops in oyster sauce, or oysters baked in the shell with cheese. Can you get those items in US yum cha restaurants?
