I had the chance to see the F-35A Demo Team participate during the Heritage Flight after Rebel's demo in the F-16 at the El Centro Airshow last year. I'm surprised at how brilliant and loud this beauty really is! Now, the F-22 is coming next year!! Yes, it's only a Heritage Flight, but I cannot wait for this. I've never seen the Raptor live or in El Centro, ever. 👌🔥🌀🇺🇲
I've also had the pleasure of attending the Chino Planes of Fame Air Show about 3 years ago. I lived in the houses across the street and it was awesome to watch the F-22 practice it's maneuvers a few days before the air show weekend. The Sabres were awesome as well. So cool to see an F-35 in the line up now!!
was at this air show and was able to see Major Will Andreotta in the F35. He came up to the crowd and asked if we had any questions and I sure did. I had asked him how stealthy is the F35. Russia says that the Russians s400 can detect any stealth fighter and I'm not sure if the f35 has been up against the s400. he's answer was don't under estimate Americans ingenuity. So hearing this from are USAF Major Will Andreotta is so awesome to to hear. I was hoping he was up in the air alot long and show us more tricks that this F35 can do . God bless you Major Will Andreotta and thanks for ur service.
Keep in mind, the f-35 and f-22 fly in a non-stealthy mode pretty much 100% of the time. If you look on the upper rear wing on both sides of the engine, there are two big bumps and one below the jet. These are purposely exposing the jets to the world breaking stealth characteristics. The Americans don't give our adversaries an opportunity during peace time to test their radars. Also, it is necessary for air traffic control to direct traffic in the air. They have been doing this with the b2. So if you hear Russians say they can see our f-35 from 100 miles away, it's because we are letting them. If war broke out, their tests will be worthless because it would be in full stealth mode. Google it.
I'm glad armchair General explained this. There is no reason for the F-22 and F-35 to go full stealth unless needed in combat . It gives our adversaries information. The only people that should know our capabilities are the people flying them and the people developing it. I wouldn't give this information to politicians of course.
It's called the Luneburg Lens. It not only prevents potential adversaries from collecting RCS intelligence on the F-35, but it also enables civilian Air Traffic Control radars to see the F-35, for safety.
Big Daddy its maneuverability sucks, and what tricks did it do? I seen nothing but failed attempts, its very slow at doing them in other words, especially the barrel roll he attempted, as for steath, there are plenty of pilots that will tell you its impossible to create an invisable plane, signature can be lowered, but not invisable, this plane was built around that very idea with little else in mind other then seperate versions of it, even if somehow that stealth figher was to actually bypass radars, its still only 1 radar advancement away from being totally useless, which will come, so then entire f35 fleets are no better then a sunken ship.
Any aircraft as new as the F-35 will not reach its potential for who knows how long. For example, the F-16 which entered service in 1979 really did not reach its full potential until the block 40 airframes onward(late 80's/early 90's). Its just the way aircraft develop. The USAF will continue to develop/test this aircraft and as pilots, engineers, etc, etc pull all the data together you will see software updates, parameter updates, and then the aircraft will continue to open up in that regard. This aircraft has allot of growth and teething pains to go through
All of you folks out there in the chair force need to understand a few things. This aircraft was designed to perform a number of different tasks. Enhanced deep strike capability is at the heart of the design as well as close air support for our ground forces. Leave the air superiority role to the Raptors. Not to say the F 35 cant defend its self . Pilots are learning a whole new set of tactics adapting to this aircraft. Energy management is the key. The pilots will evolve as well as the aircraft.
These planes are loud as hell! Maybe the AV-8A Harrier is the loudest I’ve heard but these planes aren’t that far behind. I seen them flying around Eglin AFB and it takes 3 F-15s to match that noise!
Anyone notice at 9:33 as the aircraft loads up into the turn that it's using the ailerons as "elevators". Both the left and right ailerons are deflecting upwards. It's almost like wing is functioning as a delta with the elevators almost acting as rear mounted "canards"... if that makes any sense. I've noticed the same thing with the f-22 when it's in very hard turns in certain situations.
It makes sense if you think of it as a delta. the elevators are positioned for pitch down at the same time. Probably used as pitch stabilization in higher aoa situations... just like canards. I can' t say that I've seen that happen with super hornet, I'll have to look up more videos on it.
Excellent video... as I am not able to attend, THANK YOU very much for bringing this performance into my living room! The jet engine on the F-35 is really incredible - How does the sound dbA level compare to the F-22? Cheers from Seattle!
People usually don't like the new kid on the block until he kicks the bully's ass. This airplane is a perfect example of that. People need to stop building a pointless narrative about why this airplane "sucks" based off of youtube videos and articles written by people with no flight experience. Just because it doesn't blow your mind at an airshow doesn't mean it's a bad airplane.
All of the articles and pilot comments that have been written about the F35. The F35 couldn't make it across the pond last year to go to a air show. Don't sit there and tell me this plane is better than the F22. Your barking up the wrong tree.
Except they delivered a handful of them to Australia and Norway and also flew performances at RIAT last year in the UK. And I've talked to Air Force pilots, Navy pilots, and Lockheed Martin test pilots in person who have told me nothing but good things about it's flight characteristics, power, and weapons capabilities (at least what they could tell me that isn't classified). It's not supposed to be better than the F-22. They don't share the same combat roles. Each aircraft has their own areas of specialty. You read one sour article about the plane and then go straight to YT to talk crap about it when I have actually done as much research as I can and spoken with people who have real hands-on experience with this aircraft.
Yeah they have opened up the flight envelope for sure.. that high alpha High g pull up is new as well. Looks like reheat is required for anything over 3 g turn wise... I wonder how much gas was on board... I am going to say she was heavy due to the concern shown for the port side tire on the mains
The barrel roll is nothing new, all Heritage Flights do this to break, even the A-10's, and with the exception of that tight AB turn, they ran pretty much the same exact manuvers at Nellis for their last show.
12 (or more?) studs to lock the cover of the ground staff contol panel! How many extra seconds will that delay turn-around-time? And why is the ground staff marching around the aircraft like he was in a parade? Not purposeful in my view.
amazing how slow the F35 can fly. Amazing it can fly with those WWII planes and still be so agile at those slow speeds. You can tell at those super slow speeds that its efficiency is way down.
It is because of the extremly high angle of attack of this plane. The wing area is small compared to body mass so the lift force is low. You can see the pilot is forced to use afterburner alot to not loose altitude during tight turns. It is a flying brick and will stand no chance to a modern fighter in classic dogfight.
Fredrik Hansson well you got some things wrong there bud while the wings of this aircraft is somewhat small it's the lifting body design that makes it so maneuverable, two it is up there with one of the best turning fighters of any time and third it's designed for bvr (beyond visual range) combat, therefore it would probably never need to get into a turning engagement since it see the enemy before they see it and shoot em down. (Sorry if I sounded a little snarky it's just i just felt it's my duty to inform people of the aircraft I fly) Commander Jordan U.S.A.F
SINCE WHEN DO BIRDS OR INSECTS FLY FASTER THAN AIR PLANES? P L A Y it SLOW MOTION on 9:47 to end of 9:48 Also play slow motion 10:03 (right side top corner) notice bright object...I'm just pointing out, you guys decide.
Wonderful Aircraft it would rape the crowds ears. Mach 2.35 sonic boom would deaf people plus the plane is in development so they don’t want to push it
the only reason i like the f-22 over the f-35 is the twin engines, whole flight safety training at work to work on there fuel controls is a pain in the butt
great video but why does the USAF insist on having the ground Crewe acting like, robots with all this silly marching around, just makes them look stupid ,sure they can do a great job without all the mucking About. Just watch the RAF crew .,just get on with the job
+Ken McD Also there are actually more of these built then the Raptor. Trump needs to produce at least 500 more since we only have 195 operational. Obama is a dumbass and put the program on hold since 2012 ,but congress wants us to start producing more.
What are you talking about? The government, and that includes Trump, have been complaining that the F-35 has been too expensive for years. Some going as far as suggesting that more A-10's need to be built because the F-35 wasn't up to snuff. The more that are built, the lower the cost per unit is going to be. This isn't a new concept that has magically materialized on January 20th. Yes, the F-22 is far better at air superiority and we built far too few of them especially knowing that our long standing strategic enemies are still out there. I don't think they will ever restart that line though, there is too much penny pinching as it is. The government is simply not taking in enough revenue to fund such an expensive plane. We should have never stopped producing it, and you can thank the bean counters for that one.
Former ACC commander, General Hostage, said that the F-35 is the best air-to-air fighter in the world, except for the F-22, and the F-22 is the best bombing fighter in the world, except for the F-35.
John Damascus USAF and FAA rules prevent it from doing aggressive demos because it's still a new aircraft. The F-22 was the same way. Maybe next year they'll allow more aggressive manunvers.
Great footage Spencer my wife & I must have been real close to you on Friday. I added you on my Channel to "Check out these channels" Have a great week :)
Yes, it did, when they developed tactics against them, the "less maneuverable" American aircraft held their own against the Zekes. That's what Red Flag teaches pilots, the advantages and disadvantages of each aircraft.. F-22 lost to a T-38. I guess that means the F-22 sucks at dogfighting too? Pilots win dogfights, not the aircraft.
@jerome pierre Ahh, clicked your profile finally! you're a biased French that loves the Rafale. Explains your comments now! F-35 has the same top speed as the Rafale. F-35 has more internal fuel so it can go further without tanks (Rafale are always carrying fuel tanks, less pylons and more drag). F-35 has a higher T/W than the Rafale at the same fuel capacity. F-35 has a higher max takeoff weight than the Rafale by almost 20,000lb F-35A cannon has more ammo than the Rafale F-35 is 9g max, the same as the Rafale. F-35 has stealth, shaping and RAM. Rafale just has RAM. F-35 has a better radar, with a better IRST system (EODAS). F-35 is cheaper than a Rafale. Rafale has a lower wing loading.... I'll give the Rafale a plus for the Spectra too, it's a good system. Rafale can beat the F-35 combat radius with 3 external tanks (i guess this is a plus?). Same top speed as the F-35 Rafale is 9g capable, like the F-35. Yes, the F-35 has a higher wing loading than the Rafale, but the F-35 uses body lift for majority of it's wing area. If you don't know what this is, please google it. Not to mention it uses other things just like the Rafale, LERX, leading edge slats, and even the tails at an angle provide lift for the F-35.
This thing is NOT a dogfighter, it is a flying SENSOR , with a very capable radar, sophisticated avionics, but a high- G turning "gun fighter" it is not.
mathew mann the chances it will get in a dog fight is significantly less than 1%. If it does get in a dogfight, it certainly has a few tricks up its sleeve. I am a civilian and if I had a choice between flying an f-16 or f-35...I am picking the f-35 every time and twice on Sunday.
Ken McD well the f-22 of course. Just my preference. The thought of going Mach 2.5 would be crazy awesome. The f-35 would be close second. The sensors and targeting capabilities are unmatched by any other fighter today. I would feel totally safe in either jet.
I had the chance to see the F-35A Demo Team participate during the Heritage Flight after Rebel's demo in the F-16 at the El Centro Airshow last year. This show was so awesome! I was there on Sunday. Saw that jet come roaring over my house!
The sound the F35 makes when powering up from cruising is fuckin wonderful. Great stuff
Useless comment.
It’s a Vulcan howl just on a f35
mach37, stfu. hows that for a useless comment?
After seeing Dunkirk I gained a new appreciatiom for the older planes.. I was bummed I missed the show this year.
Hue-Man when the luftwaffe plane suddenly exploded and the silent RAF plane flew by I was like "whoa that was next level!"
CopiousAmountsOfStoke how it glided my for like 2 hours lol
This airframe is beautiful. Can't wait to see it in its prime in the following decade to come.
You also have to remember, the USAF has yet to open up this jets full flight parameters, its still flying somewhat restricted. All aircraft do this.

As this airframe "matures" with experience, training, and natural evolution, you will only see the "stops" taken off as time goes by........
As the case with any new airframe,....... maturity, time, training, experience will only allow this aircraft to see its full potential.
All of you folks out there in the chair force need to understand a few things. This aircraft was designed to perform a number of different tasks. Perfect footage man!!!!
0:40 what is that noise it's making? Hydraulics?
Impressive camera work. Can you say what camera and lens you used. Did you shoot in 4k?
Excellent video... as I am not able to attend, THANK YOU very much for bringing this performance into my living room!
The jet engine on the F-35 is really incredible - How does the sound dbA level compare to the F-22?
Cheers from Seattle!
Bolting down a fuselage panel just before flight must be amazing for maintaining a stealth profile.
Great video. Like always you never fail to amuse me. Keep up the good work! ;)
Nice combination of sounds!

the average troll must think RT television and Pierre Sprey have been lying to them for years lol.
F35 is not a jet.. Its a freekin space craft !! Wow !!

War Thunder Matchmaker be like:
That plane is flying right now about 20 minutes from my house, and I'm not there. Shame on me. I will be at tomorrow's show though.
People usually don't like the new kid on the block until he kicks the bully's ass. This airplane is a perfect example of that. Chris I disagree; it is supposed to be better than the F22. The F35 replaced the F22 as it is no longer made.
Check paris show 2017 that was with a combat loat might i add. Or look for new 2018 videos as they are unrestricted now
Well they added a barrel roll and a tight turn to the display program, hopefully next year they will show us a loop and slow flight.
Yeah they have opened up the flight envelope for sure.. that high alpha High g pull up is new as well. Looks like reheat is required for anything over 3 g turn wise... I wonder how much gas was on board... I am going to say she was heavy due to the concern shown for the port side tire on the mains

Arcuate i was referring to the F-35 demo, never saw a jsf do a barrel roll before
mattfgln they want to show its as good as a WWI fighter. And I think it might be.
Ken McD Your ignorance and hate are showing.
Are you attending for this year’s?
very nice man!!!
No external starter?
Does anyone know if there gonna be doing the airshow tomorrow, May 8 2017?
great video, btw
Anyone know what that repetitive wrrring sound during startup is?
Can some one answer this question.
How many Aim 9x's middles can a F-35 carry ?
probably 10. 6 under the wings and 4 in the bays
When something is designed right, you only need to screw it down finger tight.
I love these F 35s front view profile.
The startup is awesome
the intake on these newer models is crazy
Even under a restricted flight envelope the F-35 is pretty nimble, can't wait to see it put through its paces once the full flight envelope is open.
Such an awesome airplane!!
12 (or more?) studs to lock the cover of the ground staff contol panel! How many extra seconds will that delay turn-around-time? And why is the ground staff marching around the aircraft like he was in a parade? Not purposeful in my view.
Yooo no kidding they flew over my house in eastvale. I was so happy and I wanted to go but I had chores
ndifor tabukum ik😰😱😨 i went but they finished right when i got there.
amazing how slow the F35 can fly. Amazing it can fly with those WWII planes and still be so agile at those slow speeds. You can tell at those super slow speeds that its efficiency is way down.
grabir01 there are a lot of f-22 flying with those same ww2 planes. So, what are you getting at?
The A version is the best looking F-35.
unitoone it would be the only version i would buy. Who needs all that heavy lifting fan shit or folding wings
unitoone SORRY, All three variants look the same, with only small physical difference.
RB, "they are the same... but different." xD
unitoone Doubt that you even know those differences.
Robert, it's really hard to not notice the obvious hump on the back of the V-TOL version or the big wings of the carrier version. :/
F-35 seems to always squeeze condensation vortex at wingtips when similar jets don't...
Deez 727 Because it has vortex generators built into the wing.
It is because of the extremly high angle of attack of this plane. The wing area is small compared to body mass so the lift force is low. You can see the pilot is forced to use afterburner alot to not loose altitude during tight turns. It is a flying brick and will stand no chance to a modern fighter in classic dogfight.

Love laughing at the robot clowns in sunglasses that they use for groundcrews for the F-22 and F-35 shows.
Hopefully this is a heritage flight i live 5 minutes away all i wanted to see was it hovering
Marcus yuves This is the Air Force Version of the F-35. Only the Marine Corps version hovers..
Miramar airshow is you best bet for hover.
Also on the p-38 my grandpa made the engine so it has his name on the p-38
7:37, the Fightning & Lightning II together! 👍🏾

min beste opplevelse i livet har vært å få fly
I fly that at Luke air force base in Glendale and it sounds great
Nice video, but you're filming a bit too close. Please, zoom out next time ;)
hope it can live up to the original liightning
First one?
Wish they'd stop holding back. I'd like to see the full scope of what this bird can do.
Wonderful Aircraft it would rape the crowds ears. Mach 2.35 sonic boom would deaf people plus the plane is in development so they don’t want to push it
This thing is awesome but I'll always like the F-22 more
The F-35 is so quiet it sounds like the 787!
Ayo ayo ayo,, lebih semangat lagi dan fokus. Ok! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
El F-35 es del año 2006
Is that the Me110
Coolest aircraft
15:00 best chair on the world!
the only reason i like the f-22 over the f-35 is the twin engines, whole flight safety training at work to work on there fuel controls is a pain in the butt
Would be awesome if the thunderbirds adopt the F-35 and add VTOL and hover capability to the demonstrations
I like it
I miss the Strike Eagle.
+xero925 I know last time it was at any airshow was in 2011 ,I don't know why they haven't at airshows since then.
great video but why does the USAF insist on having the ground Crewe acting like, robots with all this silly marching around, just makes them look stupid ,sure they can do a great job without all the mucking About. Just watch the RAF crew .,just get on with the job
I agree they look laughable.
All that fancy gadgetry and flying doesn't mean squat if you can't afford to build enough to make a difference in a shooting war.
+William Henderson
Except the fact it in all variants per aircraft costs less than most F-16s and F/A-18 variants.
Wow!
I went to the show my grand pa Owens 2 hangers
And some idiots use to say F-35 has no maneuvering capability.
The F-22 Raptor will still always be better.
1000% correct.
+Ken McD Also there are actually more of these built then the Raptor. Trump needs to produce at least 500 more since we only have 195 operational. Obama is a dumbass and put the program on hold since 2012 ,but congress wants us to start producing more.

Why not full canopy like the f16 ? that frame looks like it's right in front of the pilot... something like that in my view would drive me crazy.
8:45 ....you're welcome :)
Jesus Christ imagine some guns on it and it being able to accelerate and decelerate at insane speeds
Either that aircraft cannot perform or they're holding back.
John Damascus USAF and FAA rules prevent it from doing aggressive demos because it's still a new aircraft. The F-22 was the same way. Maybe next year they'll allow more aggressive manunvers.
plus you dont want to show the opposition exactly hat you're capable of
It can't perform.....
John.....one thing to keep in mind is that the F-35 is only cleared to do the Heritage Flights, not a full demo. So, your statement is moot.
Based on what?
8:50 you’re welcome
WOW
The ultimate heritage flight: Picture this a P51 with an F22 followed by an Me110 and an F35. They can call it the victors and the vanquished.
Great footage Spencer my wife & I must have been real close to you on Friday. I added you on my Channel to "Check out these channels" Have a great week :)
f18 meets the f22
Multiple capabilities.. fit for pjilippine air force. F35 is new fighter, replacement f16. A philoppino. 🙂 🚙 🚴 🇵🇭
I'm gonna slap my phone .( missles)
Not designed for aerobatics
Yeah, it's designed for war, the job it's supposed to do.
Aerobatics is a part of war. What do you think wins dog fights. The F4F didn't do to well against the zero.
What the pilots want is an agile aircraft capable of getting them out of the worst situation the jsf and away from it
@jerome pierre
Ahh, clicked your profile finally! you're a biased French that loves the Rafale.
F-35 has a higher max takeoff weight than the Rafale by almost 20,000lb
F-35A cannon has more ammo than the Rafale
F-35 is 9g max, the same as the Rafale.
Same top speed as the F-35
Rafale is 9g capable, like the F-35.
That is my moms boy friend

SU-57 will rip this bucket apart!
What a bust! Wasted 14 minutes, expecting a demo of vertical takeoff and landing, which never happened.
mach37 Only the Marine Corps F-35 can perform vertical take off and landing. This is the Air Force version.
This thing is NOT a dogfighter, it is a flying SENSOR , with a very capable radar, sophisticated avionics, but a high- G turning "gun fighter" it is not.
So, why do we need it. It's an air superiority fighter, right. Why did Barry kill the F22? Because, he hates the USA.
mathew mann the chances it will get in a dog fight is significantly less than 1%. If it does get in a dogfight, it certainly has a few tricks up its sleeve. I am a civilian and if I had a choice between flying an f-16 or f-35...I am picking the f-35 every time and twice on Sunday.
And if you had the choice of an F22 and a F35, what would you pick?
Ken McD well the f-22 of course. Just my preference. The thought of going Mach 2.5 would be crazy awesome. The f-35 would be close second. The sensors and targeting capabilities are unmatched by any other fighter today. I would feel totally safe in either jet.
An F14 or SU-35
this jet is a choad
that thing is a literal turd with wings. it struggles just to do the same maneuvers that the f 18 and f 16 can easily do
This is a flying display. Its the slug everyone said it was.
