    I had the chance to see the F-35A Demo Team participate during the Heritage Flight after Rebel's demo in the F-16 at the El Centro Airshow last year. I'm surprised at how brilliant and loud this beauty really is! Now, the F-22 is coming next year!! Yes, it's only a Heritage Flight, but I cannot wait for this. I've never seen the Raptor live or in El Centro, ever. 👌🔥🌀🇺🇲

    I've also had the pleasure of attending the Chino Planes of Fame Air Show about 3 years ago. I lived in the houses across the street and it was awesome to watch the F-22 practice it's maneuvers a few days before the air show weekend. The Sabres were awesome as well. So cool to see an F-35 in the line up now!!

    was at this air show and was able to see Major Will Andreotta in the F35. He came up to the crowd and asked if we had any questions and I sure did. I had asked him how stealthy is the F35. Russia says that the Russians s400 can detect any stealth fighter and I'm not sure if the f35 has been up against the s400. he's answer was don't under estimate Americans ingenuity. So hearing this from are USAF Major Will Andreotta is so awesome to to hear. I was hoping he was up in the air alot long and show us more tricks that this F35 can do . God bless you Major Will Andreotta and thanks for ur service.

      Keep in mind, the f-35 and f-22 fly in a non-stealthy mode pretty much 100% of the time. If you look on the upper rear wing on both sides of the engine, there are two big bumps and one below the jet. These are purposely exposing the jets to the world breaking stealth characteristics. The Americans don't give our adversaries an opportunity during peace time to test their radars. Also, it is necessary for air traffic control to direct traffic in the air. They have been doing this with the b2. So if you hear Russians say they can see our f-35 from 100 miles away, it's because we are letting them. If war broke out, their tests will be worthless because it would be in full stealth mode. Google it.

      @oldpaint7533 7 лет назад +5

      I'm glad armchair General explained this. There is no reason for the F-22 and F-35 to go full stealth unless needed in combat . It gives our adversaries information. The only people that should know our capabilities are the people flying them and the people developing it. I wouldn't give this information to politicians of course.

    • @777Outrigger
      @777Outrigger 7 лет назад +4

      It's called the Luneburg Lens. It not only prevents potential adversaries from collecting RCS intelligence on the F-35, but it also enables civilian Air Traffic Control radars to see the F-35, for safety.

      Big Daddy its maneuverability sucks, and what tricks did it do? I seen nothing but failed attempts, its very slow at doing them in other words, especially the barrel roll he attempted, as for steath, there are plenty of pilots that will tell you its impossible to create an invisable plane, signature can be lowered, but not invisable, this plane was built around that very idea with little else in mind other then seperate versions of it, even if somehow that stealth figher was to actually bypass radars, its still only 1 radar advancement away from being totally useless, which will come, so then entire f35 fleets are no better then a sunken ship.

      Any aircraft as new as the F-35 will not reach its potential for who knows how long. For example, the F-16 which entered service in 1979 really did not reach its full potential until the block 40 airframes onward(late 80's/early 90's). Its just the way aircraft develop. The USAF will continue to develop/test this aircraft and as pilots, engineers, etc, etc pull all the data together you will see software updates, parameter updates, and then the aircraft will continue to open up in that regard. This aircraft has allot of growth and teething pains to go through

    • @jimblanchard7868
      @jimblanchard7868 7 лет назад +2

      As this airframe "matures" with experience, training, and natural evolution, you will only see the "stops" taken off as time goes by........

    • @jimblanchard7868
      @jimblanchard7868 7 лет назад +4

      As the case with any new airframe,....... maturity, time, training, experience will only allow this aircraft to see its full potential.

  • @taccdernz6277

    All of you folks out there in the chair force need to understand a few things. This aircraft was designed to perform a number of different tasks. Enhanced deep strike capability is at the heart of the design as well as close air support for our ground forces. Leave the air superiority role to the Raptors. Not to say the F 35 cant defend its self . Pilots are learning a whole new set of tactics adapting to this aircraft. Energy management is the key. The pilots will evolve as well as the aircraft.

    These planes are loud as hell! Maybe the AV-8A Harrier is the loudest I’ve heard but these planes aren’t that far behind. I seen them flying around Eglin AFB and it takes 3 F-15s to match that noise!

  • @mikoriad
    @mikoriad 7 лет назад +1

    Anyone notice at 9:33 as the aircraft loads up into the turn that it's using the ailerons as "elevators". Both the left and right ailerons are deflecting upwards. It's almost like wing is functioning as a delta with the elevators almost acting as rear mounted "canards"... if that makes any sense. I've noticed the same thing with the f-22 when it's in very hard turns in certain situations.

    • @corystansbury
      @corystansbury 7 лет назад

      mikoriad I saw that too. The Superhornets also do this at times. Very counterintuitive.

    • @mikoriad
      @mikoriad 7 лет назад +1

      It makes sense if you think of it as a delta. the elevators are positioned for pitch down at the same time. Probably used as pitch stabilization in higher aoa situations... just like canards. I can' t say that I've seen that happen with super hornet, I'll have to look up more videos on it.

    People usually don't like the new kid on the block until he kicks the bully's ass. This airplane is a perfect example of that. People need to stop building a pointless narrative about why this airplane "sucks" based off of youtube videos and articles written by people with no flight experience. Just because it doesn't blow your mind at an airshow doesn't mean it's a bad airplane.

    • @kmcd1000
      @kmcd1000 7 лет назад

      All of the articles and pilot comments that have been written about the F35. The F35 couldn't make it across the pond last year to go to a air show. Don't sit there and tell me this plane is better than the F22. Your barking up the wrong tree.

    • @chrisbrackin8822
      @chrisbrackin8822 7 лет назад +7

      Except they delivered a handful of them to Australia and Norway and also flew performances at RIAT last year in the UK. And I've talked to Air Force pilots, Navy pilots, and Lockheed Martin test pilots in person who have told me nothing but good things about it's flight characteristics, power, and weapons capabilities (at least what they could tell me that isn't classified). It's not supposed to be better than the F-22. They don't share the same combat roles. Each aircraft has their own areas of specialty. You read one sour article about the plane and then go straight to YT to talk crap about it when I have actually done as much research as I can and spoken with people who have real hands-on experience with this aircraft.

    • @kmcd1000
      @kmcd1000 7 лет назад

      Chris I disagree; it is supposed to be better than the F22. The F35 replaced the F22 as it is no longer made.

      Yeah they have opened up the flight envelope for sure.. that high alpha High g pull up is new as well. Looks like reheat is required for anything over 3 g turn wise... I wonder how much gas was on board... I am going to say she was heavy due to the concern shown for the port side tire on the mains

    • @jayjuarez9500
      @jayjuarez9500 7 лет назад +1

      The barrel roll is nothing new, all Heritage Flights do this to break, even the A-10's, and with the exception of that tight AB turn, they ran pretty much the same exact manuvers at Nellis for their last show.

    • @fredrik999z
      @fredrik999z 6 лет назад

      It is because of the extremly high angle of attack of this plane. The wing area is small compared to body mass so the lift force is low. You can see the pilot is forced to use afterburner alot to not loose altitude during tight turns. It is a flying brick and will stand no chance to a modern fighter in classic dogfight.

    • @crustykavkaz7836
      @crustykavkaz7836 6 лет назад +2

      Fredrik Hansson well you got some things wrong there bud while the wings of this aircraft is somewhat small it's the lifting body design that makes it so maneuverable, two it is up there with one of the best turning fighters of any time and third it's designed for bvr (beyond visual range) combat, therefore it would probably never need to get into a turning engagement since it see the enemy before they see it and shoot em down. (Sorry if I sounded a little snarky it's just i just felt it's my duty to inform people of the aircraft I fly) Commander Jordan U.S.A.F

      What are you talking about? The government, and that includes Trump, have been complaining that the F-35 has been too expensive for years. Some going as far as suggesting that more A-10's need to be built because the F-35 wasn't up to snuff. The more that are built, the lower the cost per unit is going to be. This isn't a new concept that has magically materialized on January 20th. Yes, the F-22 is far better at air superiority and we built far too few of them especially knowing that our long standing strategic enemies are still out there. I don't think they will ever restart that line though, there is too much penny pinching as it is. The government is simply not taking in enough revenue to fund such an expensive plane. We should have never stopped producing it, and you can thank the bean counters for that one.

      Former ACC commander, General Hostage, said that the F-35 is the best air-to-air fighter in the world, except for the F-22, and the F-22 is the best bombing fighter in the world, except for the F-35.

    Why not full canopy like the f16 ? that frame looks like it's right in front of the pilot... something like that in my view would drive me crazy.

      John Damascus USAF and FAA rules prevent it from doing aggressive demos because it's still a new aircraft. The F-22 was the same way. Maybe next year they'll allow more aggressive manunvers.

      Aerobatics is a part of war. What do you think wins dog fights. The F4F didn't do to well against the zero.

    • @MrCampasaurus
      @MrCampasaurus 7 лет назад +1

      Yes, it did, when they developed tactics against them, the "less maneuverable" American aircraft held their own against the Zekes.
      That's what Red Flag teaches pilots, the advantages and disadvantages of each aircraft..
      F-22 lost to a T-38. I guess that means the F-22 sucks at dogfighting too?
      Pilots win dogfights, not the aircraft.

      Ahh, clicked your profile finally! you're a biased French that loves the Rafale. Explains your comments now!
      F-35 has the same top speed as the Rafale.
      F-35 has more internal fuel so it can go further without tanks (Rafale are always carrying fuel tanks, less pylons and more drag).
      F-35 has a higher T/W than the Rafale at the same fuel capacity.
      F-35 has a higher max takeoff weight than the Rafale by almost 20,000lb
      F-35A cannon has more ammo than the Rafale
      F-35 is 9g max, the same as the Rafale.
      F-35 has stealth, shaping and RAM. Rafale just has RAM.
      F-35 has a better radar, with a better IRST system (EODAS).
      F-35 is cheaper than a Rafale.
      Rafale has a lower wing loading....
      I'll give the Rafale a plus for the Spectra too, it's a good system.
      Rafale can beat the F-35 combat radius with 3 external tanks (i guess this is a plus?).
      Same top speed as the F-35
      Rafale is 9g capable, like the F-35.
      Yes, the F-35 has a higher wing loading than the Rafale, but the F-35 uses body lift for majority of it's wing area. If you don't know what this is, please google it. Not to mention it uses other things just like the Rafale, LERX, leading edge slats, and even the tails at an angle provide lift for the F-35.

    This thing is NOT a dogfighter, it is a flying SENSOR , with a very capable radar, sophisticated avionics, but a high- G turning "gun fighter" it is not.

    • @kmcd1000

      So, why do we need it. It's an air superiority fighter, right. Why did Barry kill the F22? Because, he hates the USA.

    • @armchairgeneral7557
      @armchairgeneral7557 7 лет назад +1

      mathew mann the chances it will get in a dog fight is significantly less than 1%. If it does get in a dogfight, it certainly has a few tricks up its sleeve. I am a civilian and if I had a choice between flying an f-16 or f-35...I am picking the f-35 every time and twice on Sunday.

    • @kmcd1000

    • @armchairgeneral7557

      Ken McD well the f-22 of course. Just my preference. The thought of going Mach 2.5 would be crazy awesome. The f-35 would be close second. The sensors and targeting capabilities are unmatched by any other fighter today. I would feel totally safe in either jet.
