Hi, i have a honda cbr 600cc f1 engine on a buggy, it worked, until some months ago, sometimes like 3-4 days the engine worked fine, starting with no problem, then sometimes it doesn’t give me spark at all on all 4 spark plugs, then suddenly after some days it works again, it depends, sometimes after a week or so… what it could be the problem.. i’m tired of it ?
My bike has spark but it won't charge the battery. I've checked like you did. The black wire have like 62 to 82acv. But the blue one have zero volts just like in video. So is it stator problem or rectifier? Also what that whit wire coming from stator supposed to do. Thanks
You got this fixed, I see. For other readers: If the Blu/wht carries no voltage/current, when kicking over the engine, the stator is the issue. Blu/wht is just a logic type of voltage for the timing of the CDI, without that voltage though, there will not be spark.
@@bikersoncall makes sense thanks, I just checked my blue pick up wire and I'm getting 8 vac cranking it over on the starter. I'm getting 59 vac from the stator to the cdi. I should be good to go
Ever figure out the issue? I just installed a new stator on a quad I have and had .2 on the blue/white wire. I noticed the pickup was as far away from the stator as it could go. Loosened the 2 screws and adjusted it closer and I now get 1-2v as I should.
I have a kazume 90cc chinese quad. My stator shows 26 volts Brand new one only puts out 27 bolts. Checked wiring ground ect I have Intermittent spark. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe it’s the cdi box?
@@erichartmannadventures6456 that’s a good question. You could have also just bought a cheap stator. I’m not to sure what it’s suppose to put out. But if it’s not putting out enough then could easily just be a crappy stator.
i cheked all connections on my 125 chinese atv, and bought a new sparkplug wire, sparkplug cap, sparkplug, cdi, coilpack.. still no spark.. could it be the stator, my casing in front of the chain is damaged - bought the atv used, with no spark.
Okay, fitted new stator, i still get the same reading as you do on the Blue wire, this both occured with the new and my old stator :( any advice from here?
@@filmfreaken hmm that’s interesting. Did you check for spark again even with that reading? If not try checking If yes the only thing I can think of is maybe you have a bad ground wire connection. Also Sometimes the wire harness can go bad. Check the wires for continuity to make sure wires are good and are not broken. Or buy a wire harness/make your own. Another thing is if you have a kill switch try disconnecting it. Could be a bad kill switch that’s stuck on off.
@@slavsquad i did try going without the kill switch itself, by pulling out the two wires from the kill switch 6 pin connector, no spark, i've replaced reticifier, coilpack, plug, starter-relay, stator - no spark - i might have to replace the whole harness, but i cant see anything faulty with it.. but may be worth a try, i wonder if it could be ignition switch, it has 4 wires, i've tried to disconnect it and connect red and black on the side of the harness, starter motor runs, including the lights, but no spark. I did try to run a new ground wire, i'm thinking about that stator.. its strange it gives me same readings as your video, dispite being brand new.
So on my bike is hanged everything it’s not electric start but I changed the cdi the wires and spark plug and ignition coil I believe this could be the last thing too fix?
I only know the specs to those wires in the video unfortunately Other wires in the harness I just look for continuity And cdi I’m Not to sure how to check
@@slavsquad not so super easy to do it’s in the right rear side case the frame of the bike is in the way the rear wheel mount like swing arm part is also in the way and so is the exhaust lol and I can’t undo it from the manifold so worst case I will cut it enough so it’s out the way and just sleeve the 2 half of pipes together with some tube slightly wider and some claps and gum gum lol but it isn’t a easy job I may film some and post it on here as there isn’t anything really for this bike repair wise
@@Tizzy_p that sucks on yours it’s not in a good spot! On my bikes is simple. Lean the bike over. Take the magneto side cover off. Then take magneto off. I have a huge problem with super pocket bike it starts up fine a 50cc super pocket bike but for one it move by its self and will gain up to 15 or 20mph with me even touching the throttle And the other problem is if i give it over 10% throttle it bogs down and at 25-30% it cuts off i got a brand new carb and tuned it but it hasn’t changed anything im stuck thanks for any information in advance ill be sure to subscribe
Hi Nate That’s a good question I’m guessing it’s a 2 stroke. Which I’m not very familiar with to be honest. If you tuned the carb properly and it’s new the my guess is bad fuel or bad fuel mixture? Maybe a fouled spark plug. Try those two before you dig to far. Hope that helps!
@@Nate20 okay if 4 stroke then you don’t mix fuel so that’s out of the question. You can check to make sure the throttle cable isn’t to tight and engaging constantly?
Ohm test the blue and the green and for a split sec it should zero out. If your tester has a sound alarm it should be like a beeping sounds as you turn the motor over.
Was it the pic up coil that was bad? How do you test it to see if it's good or bad? any ideas you can comment on would be greatly appreciated Thank You
i have the same issue with this guy. my pulser was also reading 0.1v so i replaced the the stator and its still did not fix the issue 😢😢😢. might need to replace flywheel next and see if its any better
i found out that the inside of my flywheel is dented slightly. any imperfection at the inside surface can cause major low voltage. there was also lots of rust on my flywheel and potential inside the flywheel too. i did borrowed a flywheel and it actually gives a voltage reading of 2v.
I think I might have the same problem. I have a Modenas Elit 150cc scooter, its a rebadge PGO T-rex actually. Washed my scooter, and as I try to crank the motor, it wont start. Check the plug got no spark. Changed the stator about 4 years ago and I think there is water got into my stator and caused it to fail. I already bought new set of spark plug, ignition coils and CDI to test but still got no spark. I give a try with your method and found out the output voltage to CDI (Black/red wire) only got around below 10v, the pulser wire (Blue wire) got around below 2-3v. I think the stator might fail, and will get some new stator to test and will get back here to update. Thanks a lot man.
All stators put out AC with voltage regulator to convert to DC for charging battery / 12v system. If you have no lights / battery then it is just AC voltage for ignition
I have a 125cc pitbike and it sparks sometimes like what the heck when I hold the ground wire softly to any ground like the engine it sparks but when I tightened it it doesn’t spark
I installed a new stator and I am getting zero ohms on ground and around 60 volts on the red black exciter wire. I am only getting1 volt on the blue and white trigger wire. I installed a new CDI box. When I check the ground from the CDI box to the ignition coil I get 0 ohms when I check blue and white wire from the CDI box to the coil I get zero volts and no spark. Any one have any ideas?
Thanks for the vid! Is this common for these chinese 125CC engines? I had a stator go bad after 5 hours of riding (brand new), then I believe it's bad again after 60hrs of riding, no spark symptom. It's cheap, ~$25, so I'm not complaining. Just sucks that this has to go every so often.
my chinese bike also lost spark recently after i do some high speed for short duration. im not too sure if its the stator or the flywheel that got the issue. my flywheel has been rusty this whole time tho and it's running fine.
Help! I got a new harness from Amazon for my 90cc quad, connected all the plugs the way they are supposed to and the stator is the 6 coil one but when connected to the battery the stator get hot and starts smoking. Anyone had this problem? Chance of a plug been connected wrong or defective parts?
@@slavsquad thanks for your reply, I’ve cut the green wire coming from the stator and the short went away, I haven’t put it together yet but I have a feeling that when I do it won’t be charging
@@ramongonzalez2909 yeah I believe that’s your ground. So if that was shorted then try following that wire in your harness to see if it’s touching another wire it’s not suppose to be touching. Your stator might not work with wire being cut tho because it needs a ground wire. You can also try running your own ground wire from stator to the ground where the ground wire ends at in the harness. That would also tell you if that green wire does indeed have a short somewhere.
Chances are you need to replace stator. You can try to check your key switch to make sure that’s not bad before replacing stator. I’ve had that issue before as well
blue is definitely the pick up, my guess is the stator is working putting out almost 50vac. After proving stator is putting out, try the module and coil. The coils usually measure .1 to 1 ohm. If the pickup on the stater is bad you will lose sparke too, not sure about testing it tho, on my roughhouse I believe it comes as part of the stator wired to it not separate so replace the whole thing.
I have a kawasaki kx85 from 2005 i get no spark. I changed spark plug, spark plug boot, ignition coil, stator and wiring. Everything is brand new, I took it to Kawasaki before touching the bike, they said it was the stator that was the problem, I then changed the stator but still no spark and then everything else besides cdi box i can’t find the issue... Is it maybe Cdi box or flywheel magnets?

What are the 2 yellow wire. They are not hook up.
They are 12v for lights and accessories I believe. Some have two yellows or a yellow and a white.

You have to cheek ignition coil out put.
Check how the start motor is assembled
Why is one coil wrapped?
That coil is for spark, the others are for battery and lights.

You have to change the stator not the cdi

Can a remote control kill box remote keep atv from sparking the little box at the front of atv that comes with remote to cut it off n unlock it
I don’t have much experience with that but I think it’s possible because that’s its job

Usually bikes take 87 fuel not 92. And mix it 40:1

The blue wire only send signal of when to spark the plug. It won't have voltage.

You should check the spacing between the flywheel and the pick up coil for the signal wire...

Chances are you need to replace stator.
