Congrats on the solo ride. It can be quite intimidating and sometimes your own mind can trick you. I have met several riders that made it to the Dempster sign, and yes while the weather was not great, decided it was not the year for them. I cannot fault their decision, but riding to Tombstone mountain would have perhaps alleviated much of their fear. I have yet to ride it solo. Not sure if solo is on my bucket list. A friend and I met with a solo rider in Eagle Plains in the late morning (we had spent the night at EP) he rode in from Tombstone. He headed out ahead of us, at 2 pm, knowing we would be behind. The weather was pretty miserable and it had rained all night and most of the morning. He had just dropped his bike when we got to him. A few words of encouragement and he came with us to the Arctic Circle. We rode to the border in fog and rain. I told him the road would get better as the forecast was in our favour. We rode into Tuk at 1am. He was incredibly thankful for our support and I remained in awe of his solo attempt. His two friends bailed the week before. So yeah, congrats.
Awesome. My ride that never happened this year due to work commitments but May 2025 I be go. Dania Beach - Tuk and back. Awesome video.
Mid-June is a good time to get Tuk. Ferrys are open and no bugs.
