Bracing an Acoustic Guitar Back

The back of this guitar is from the same billet of walnut as the sides. After gluing together and bookmatching the walnut, I use a piece of high-quality pine to make the acoustic guitar back braces.

That is a gorgeous book match for that back piece. The figuring is killer as well as the color tones. That will explode under finish. Also get a few dad points for letting little man help you out and do some of the work. Well done on that too. More dads need to engage their children in skill building activities as too many just plop em in front of a video game these days.

Thanks! All that walnut came from the same billet, I think I have at least 3 more side and back sets still!
As far as the kids go, both of mine like doing stuff. Definitely would rather them use their imaginations than staring at the tv
