This was the best set at Frostbite, showing that every character has a character weakness. Even if Shuton lost, he proved that Olimar could have a bad matchup
There's very clearly extreme matchup unfamiliarity on the part of Myran here, you can see in the very first game he literally has no idea what to do. Myran does figure things out as the set goes on, but he never figures out how to edgeguard Richter's terrible recovery, which would make the match look much more one-sided.

The most legendary fact is that Shuton actually said: "Olimar ditto is not fun to play or to watch" This guy literally gave up on the most logical choice in a goddamn tournament because it wasn't fun. I don't care if he lost, this guy is a hero.
I'm an olimar main and I'm not even gonna lie the first Olimar ditto was boring to watch, plus none of the audience or commentators seemed to know what was going on. And shuton's been my favorite japanese player since sm4sh so seeing him bust out the richter was crazy to watch
Pretty much the entire crowd was against Olimar as a character. Imo its like the puff of Ultimate. The amount of up throws to a kill confirm at Frostbite was tilting to watch

@@cxx23 recently d1 and keitaro (commentators) have been outed as being rapists/predatory, as well as other big names in the smash community. keitaro was accused of having sex with a minor and d1 was accused of rape, and overall being predatory towards minors. both admitted to it on their twitter. but yeah i get you. they are undeniably great at what they do, but sucks that they are horrible peolple on the inside

Shuton looks like he's trying to do a combo/setup here that just doesn't work on small characters. He wants to roll so they can't DI out of the fire and then smash their hitbox doing a DI into him, but Olimar is basically newborn baby sized so it just misses. Or it was a missed input because honestly the Belmonts don't hit people at that angle from the ground if they're aiming upward too well.
@@JusRed48 Holy Water to Up-Smash isn't a thing I've ever heard of. I've never seen a Belmont go for it intentionally. Up-Smash is best used after hitting opponent with returning cross to confirm, or as a hard read. As far as I know the Holy Water doesn't raise your opponent high enough to even connect an Up-Smash. Not to mention that no one in their right mind is going to sit there and just take that without at least attempting to DI out of that potential combo.
This was the most hype set of the tourney for sure! Shu just demolished Myran in game 1, and I think he would've won the set quickly if not for the SD's in game 2. But at least we got to see the 200 IQ downair at 15:27
If Shuton played richter more he could’ve taken the last game. 16:58 he goes for an Up Smash outta the holy water but up smash has virtually no hitbox on the ground. A spaced F smash would’ve been curtains for Myran. So hype watching this
He accidentally rolled into the holy water and was right on top of olimar. Backin out and spacing F smash would take too much time. He plays enough Richter to know but just had a brainfart I bet.

at least he did more than 3 moves Pac man and olimar take some serious thought to play Pac man can take 3 moves to set up 1 attack and you have to have the muscle memory on point if you want to execute properly
