  • Ten times from ten you, guys see me succeed on the gold with every episode.
Hitting the scales with large hauls of ounces of gold and at the very least a few grams for my efforts, but it's time to come clean, you see this summer I've sucked that's right I've failed to find much at all. I've found the odd nugget or two and a few grams but more times than not, I've been out for days searching and come home empty handed.
It should be illegal to only show the success because in reality prospecting comes with a lot of trial and error and that's what this videos about. Be prepared to see a side of Levi you've never seen before!!

I don't mind whether you find gold or not Levi. Just watching your adventures keeps me going. As a disabled person from injuries received in a 24 metre fall when I was 19. I have never been able to do what you do, ever since, and I used to be as fit as a butchers dog and loved hiking all over the place. I used to hike the wilds of Ireland for days or sometimes weeks at a time. Then the fall left me crippled for 3 years, but I got my legs back under me after a lot of physio and determination. Now with a lot of sciatic nerve pain which only allows short walks and only flat ground, my life is depressingly boring most days. So your adventures have become mine too. Keep it up Levi, gold or not. Just seeing the beautiful scenery and watching you work is all I need. So THANK YOU so much for what you do.

74 here, a lot of stupidity in my younger days, 4 full term babies, and a few more that didn't make it to term....mind and body pain. But watching you I can be young and active ( in my mind anyway ) again. Thanks too my Tazzy boys. Don't let the law stop you.

For the real gold heads, you could start a second RUclips channel. Show all the trips that don't produce much and speak honestly about those experiences. No one could ever accuse you of dishonesty. And for those who only want to see the big hauls, they can stick to the main channel. Cheers!

Levi keep up the great work. I understand the work you put in. They call it protecting not finding. It's called fishing not catching. Sometimes you find and other times you don't. People need to remember it's about the adventure. Thank you for showing us all the places in Tasmania that most of us won't ever get to see for ourselves.

I love the hiking, camping, rafting and the incredible scenery. 14 years ago I was hiking, Colorado and Kansas, canoeing trips, camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors daily. Then Dec 2010 I was a passenger in a small 2 door car that was hit by a dairy truck that blew through a yield sign. And in the state of Kansas the person at fault doesn't have to pay for injuries, the individuals own insurance has to pay for their medical care. Crazy huh? I didn't have a vehicle so I didn't have insurance. Now I am housebound and can barely walk. So I watch videos of the outdoors. The videos where you find gold are just icing on the cake.

Why do we have laws that a citizens must eat in an accident. More proof that corrupt politicians do not work for the people. Time for a revolution to stop corrupt government and put an end to their wrong doings. My prayers out to you and sad to hear about your accident. Peace be with you always. I feel your pain and experience little of same scenario here in my crooked state. Hurt on the job and my employer was at fault and the state protects the employer from being sued by the employee. Even the lawyers are corrupt. Because if they challenge the state the state will pull their bar license to practice law in our corrupt state 😡

It’s not about the gold Levi, it’s the adventures that keep having me come back. You travel almost twenty K and the forest floor foliage and moss covered tree”s along with the boulders bigger then a Volkswagen bug. Are the things I enjoy watching. The gold just ads little spice and character to the whole experience. I would luv to see all your adventures gold or no gold. The cinematography is always well put together mate. And the music ads a special essence to your countries beauty. Stay strong brother and thanks for sharing your passion with us mate 👊💪✌️🫶🇺🇸⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️😆

100% because if it's all just for show, when you go out there yourself and find nothing at all, you are going to be left feeling like a failure...... When in reality it's all part of the process, but we don't know that cause we don't see it. The reality of prospecting is more valuable than the gold it's self cause it's contextual. I know that's a controversial statement to make
So here's the example scenario , I've been prospecting for 6 months found nothing, about to give up, but watch your videos about lucking out....I get motivated just to not give up, not motivated to actually go seeking but I do it anyway? Well now your video is now worth more than the gold? And I'm just 1 person...... that could be multiple people that have had similar experience?
If the only message take away from your last video was 'to just not give up' then I strike gold....... You're video worth now cause it's yours gold plus my gold plus anyone else out there that you've inspired? The fact you can't sell yours make what you doing MOST CERTAINLY WORTHWHILE!!!

No one could convince me that sniping for gold would be easy! As many times I've watched you hike many miles thru the forest, craw over and under log jams, drag you equipment in and out of the water, pull you raft up many streams and creeks to find bedrock, remove many tons of rock and gravel! They must be idiots to think that's easy! My hats are off to you, Levi! I appreciate your efforts in all you do to give us what we like to see, successful or not. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, who wish we could do what you do! Keep on sniping. ✌️ 😊

I think most of us watch these not really because we want to get out there an get stuck in, its because we cant get out there so we watch channels like these to have the experience of what its like to do it also we love to see the gold an want you to succeed in getting it, an people saying you make it look ez know how much time an effort you put into making the content an the hunts because you do all the research an try an find the best places an it pays off most of the time, but not hitting the gold is part of the "job" too so its still good to show us the fails an struggles cos it makes seeing you find gold even more enjoyable to watch, so thx you for making videos hopefully there's more to come thru the bad times an good ill be here to watch an support 🙂

You're the most daring gold sniper out there in probably the most intense area, and you still manage to film the whole thing. The fact that sometimes you do hit it big is something to be proud of but should not be what makes or breaks you.

Levi the scenery is worth it by itself.
And unlike those other blatantly contrived "mining" & "gold" channels who have all the setbacks, broken machinery, accidents, illnesses & then suddenly hit a jackpot find, you (& Rob) show it like it is. Hard knocks, no finds, good finds & the occasional bonanza. That's what people who have never & may never go metal detecting let alone "sniping" for gold in the middle of nowhere appreciate. Honesty & the truth of how hard , but immensely rewarding your entire journey of looking for gold is. 👍.

I get this far more than the average person may. As an ice climber I’ve been seeking first ascents all over Western USA more than 35 years. Failure comes with the territory. Avalanche conditions, ice conditions, gear failure, poor weather and other factors can all get in the way until everything lines up for a successful first ascent. Maintaining gear is essential every trip, success or not. Keep up the effort, The overall successes will definitely trump the efforts in the long run. Thanks for all you do to bring the world your excellent content!

Hey Levi, I can only speak for myself.
I personally don’t just watch for the gold.
I watch because of the quality of videos you produce.
I watch because Im a Tassie boy that wears that badge with a sense of pride.
I watch because of the wild wilderness, that is Tasmania that you seem to capture through a lense. I watch Robs videos as well but you seem to have a unique style that is special to you. I think it may be your love and connection to the wilderness.
Pls keep doing what you do, gold or no gold.
Ppl forget, it’s the journey not the destination.

Gold or no gold we will still always watch your videos. I’ve had many goldless days but I don’t have to film it either. Spent four weeks dredging in Cape York in the 90’s for less then half an ounce. 2022 six weeks on the Palmer detecting for 20 grams.

Man, I know it isn't easy finding gold, if it were easy, it wouldn't be as valuable as it is. What is valuable is the enjoyment I get from your videos my friend. Keep it up and I'll keep clicking on them.

What amazes me is the old timers went up all these rivers without wetsuits or modern equipment. Where there was gold they mined it and didn’t leave a lot behind.
Watching Levi gives you an idea of what they went through.
    Great work. Love your videos!

Levi, I’m following your RUclips journey because I think you “keep it real” you’re not out there with the latest and greatest gear. I don’t expect you to find the mother load every time. I just love the country side. We purchased an inflatable canoe recently as it was getting to hard to load the old fashioned ones on the car then promptly forgot the pump first time out😂

Levi, I’ve very much enjoyed your videos, whether you find gold or not! It’s great when you do find gold, but the videos of the beautiful Tasmanian bush and rivers are awesome! It takes a very mature person to admit that sometimes you fall short of your goals!
I was born a Stannard! So to have you explore and expose the history of the old timers opened my eyes! I come from the Queensland side of the family. Stannard is an unusual surname so I’m pretty sure that at somewhere and sometime my ‘Stannard family would be related’
To some of those early Stannard’s’
Hey chin up you bring so much joy to those of us who can’t do what you do! AND your videos are educational/and in themselves a lasting legacy for all of us!
Love your work 😘 Carolyn Payne née Stannard (Queensland)

We all set out to find 20oz of gold each trip and if we're lucky may find 1 or 2 grams and more often than not no gold at all. Pretty disheartening when you drive over 100 ks one way, but that keeps you going and makes the good days so rewarding. Keep plugging away Levi. That 20 oz patch is out there 😊. Plus we all enjoy your content very much. You're a Tassie diamond!

Levi, you are awesome. I watch your vids for the scenery, (tassie is stunning), for an escape from my hectic life and troubles.
A gold find for you is awesome, however I’d still watch your vids for the scenery and that escape they give me regardless on finds or fails.
You are a good man, you are appreciated by people you’ll never even walk past on a crowded street

Levi, I love watching your videos along with everyone else. Seems to me that the only one that is bothered by you not getting gold is you. We don't mind, all of us just love the quality and beauty that your videos are about. You are absolutely amazing to watch, and all the hard work that you put into each of your videos shows. Thank you so much for doing the videos. And I certainly dont care if you get gold, but I do understand that it makes it more exciting for you, We just enjoy watching you having a great adventure in a beautiful country that we can only dream about. Thanks again. And please keep 🙏 doing it, if you love it as much as we love watching you do it.

I don’t see anything wrong with showing these sorts of trips bundled into a video like this. It’s obviously part of it, even though you said at the beginning that no gold was found, I was still waiting for some gold to turn up 😂 it’s all good to see and better than not posting videos on your much loved channel

My friend, I enjoy your videos and words of encouragement regardless of gold found. I have always wanted to visit your homelands but the reality is I may never be able t, and that being sai, I truly enjoy the sights and tours you provide us. Thank you for all your effort you put forth for us. Believe it or not I do feel like I'm not alone when I am honest enough to say it's not just for the gold.
Your family needs to be thanked as well for allowing you to take the time required for us. Failure or success I have nothing but respect for you and yours.
    Cheers from Canada

Anyone who travels in remote backcountry understands you earn everything you get! To those that seem to want to chime in and take away from your content; I’m guessing they want to feel self important and are trying to look like the expert in the room while the rest of us just shake our heads at their ignorance and total lack of situational awareness lol. Press on and keep doing what you’re doing. Your content helps get me through the winter here in Alaska while I’m waiting for our summer mining season to get going.

I Like how you Never give up Levi, that is what it takes to Prospect and make finds, I am at least 2X your age and have found just over 12 pounds of Gold in my goof off time, not serious mining, there must be quite a few pockets out in your areas that is where I found most of my gold in Pockets wish I could come show you how to pocket hunt, I learned from an Old timer Luckily.

Personally I enjoyed this one. As a full time prospector I know the lows! All those little fails that we all experience ourselves is humorous to see someone else endure. Made me feel less of a loser !😆 it gives your channel more depth. You have enough good finds. No one missing out here. Keep ‘em coming.
