Very confused.. just trying to set up ultimate trackers. I have connected their dongle to my pc but steamvr does not allow me to pair any new trackers. I have tracker gen 1 2 and 3s and they all work by connecting the dongle and then 'pair controller'.. cant find anywhere online explaining how to simply set them up, not even a youtube tutorial?
VRDancing's map making appearance in all the full body tracking focused videos if fully to me. Kinda funny for a 4year old passion project of mine XD Thanks HTC again to portray us
i guess the definition of inside out vs outside in is changing. for most of the time i have used vr, outside in vs inside out was not whether the solution used base stations, but whether where the sensors are located. the ultimate tracker have the sensors on the device itself. but vive tracker 3.0 have sensors on the tracker, not on base station. the base stations are basically just ir laser emitters, that sensors on the vive tracker 3.0 pick up. so they are technically inside out too. vive ultimate is inside out camera slam tracking, and vive tracker 3.0 is inside out lighthouse marker based.
Cat shadow in the beginning? Greeat! Thanks for the great insight in this topic. I have a vive pro 2 and I guess the tracke 3.0 will be enough for it. Especially since I already have the lighthouses : D Much appreciated! Helped me a lot!
@@HTCVive Im a cat person, so I had to notice : ) I was thinking about getting 3 for some experimentation of tracking. I also want to build own environments for vr.
3.0 always even though im happy we have a solution like the vive ultimate trackers: it needs a ton of work. If the vive ultimate tracker gets better low light performance and room calibration and the ability to save room profiles) then i'd happily recommend it... currently... no I have both but honestly the ultimate barely works in most levels of darkness, you guys really need to have better light sensitive cameras or algorithm.. when it works its impressive but the moment when it breaks (loses tracking) it pulls you out of VR and your immersion is lost. Such a shame for VR dancers who now have to crank up their room lighting..
Hello Masterpj, thank you so much for your valuable feedback. We will keep your thoughts in mind and do the best we can to continue bringing value to the VR community.
Great overview on both tracker types. For the Ultimate tracker, is there any expected date on when support for other PCVR headsets that use insideout tracking (i.e. Quests) will leave beta? What about an expected date for other standalone headset support without a PC connection (directly with Quest, for example)? Could this be used with a computer but without a headset? Say I want to develop a desktop application but want to use the trackers for motion capture or to track other types of objects but I don't want to use a VR headset. If it is possible, does using the ultimate tracker without a headset lower the tracking/data rate when compared to using it with a headset? Thank you.
4:50 I hate this part when you do calibration tracker with controller, i like plug and play even on the third party Like the Meta Quest with VIVE Ultimate Tracker
@@HTCViveIt’s the pimax Crystal Light. It’s a pcvr headset with inside out tracking that hooks up to steam vr. I could try Vive 3.0s with an inside out tracked headset but I have no idea how that would work. I definitely have a computer though
@@SpringChickensOnlyMan If you wanna use the Vive 3.0s with an Inside out tracked headset you would need a software called OVR Space Calibrator. There is lots of tutorials here on RUclips on how to set it up.
Crazy how they used the space calibrator app created by pushrax in their app which was created with the sole purpose of making it possible to use ANY headsets with vive trackers and never mention it, telling us that to use 3.0s you need LIGHTHOUSE tracked headsets while in reality it’s not a requirement…
I have vive ultimate tracker and its abosolutily useless. With artificial light doesnt work, small room doesnt work. Room with glass around doesnt work. If you move a little bit lose connection. First setup is painfull 2 hours to make tham work. Expensive price but absolutoly usless
The main difference between 3.0 and ultimate - 3.0 work, ultimate not work )))) and also for ultimate you have to buy an outdated helmet with 6 year old hardware for overprice

This was so useful! Also cute cat! 🐈
Great to hear! His name is Cosmo🌠
Will these allow for tracking you while walking if on a treadmill? Any special software needed?
Does VIVE ultimate trackers work with oculus rift s ???
can you pair the index controllers to the vive xr elite?
Does the Five Tracker work without a Steam device?
Can you combo them and use them at the same time for a certain purpose
Question: HII love your vids! when will quest 2 not need a pc for ultimate trackers?

The tracker 3.0 is a great pick for the VIVE Pro 2! How many trackers are you thinking of getting? 🤔

I recommend adjustable LED strip lighting. Still works with that cranked down.

There’s actually an inside out tracked pcvr headset I wanted to buy the Vive ultimates for so nice to know they work with your pc.

Yes but requires a space calibration step and room scan.

I can't afford either. I can't afford the 3.0's or the lighthouses.
Do the vive ultimate work with the quest pro

5/1/2 hours for the ultimate trackers BTW
I wonder if the narrator is the one VR Chat anime girl who's actually a woman in real life.
Neither, if you are on SteamVR, get yourself some Tundra Trackers. They are much better in every way compared to the 3.0 Vive pucks.
battery life yes but the slightly larger size and geometry of the 3.0 gives better tracking reliability then tundra.. especially when worn on the hip
They also tend to start steamvr whenever you plug-them-in to charge, very annoying
Good luck getting your hands on one
Good luck getting a tundra it don't matter how good they are if you can't buy them
Actually, the 3.0 trackers are actually better at tracking them tundra I own both
Super helpful!
💙
Just get Tundras
Sure if they ever put them in stock again.
