Completely traditionally before americanization, pizza was served to people out in the streets, not in restaurants. They were cooked in kitchens and then brought outside with the finished product in hand. Then people were offered and sold the pizza in the streets. Since ancient times through the renaissance before pizza becoming mainstream, the most common topping was anchovy or fish sauces (garum) Pizza was originally peasant food. It was some of the least prestigious foods in Italy, much like pie in medieval to Victorian England. It was a very cheap staple food meant to be filling and not really meant to be delicious. I, however, am glad that pizza is as delicious as it is now.
@@mariobotti1952 Not quite. You can't get a whole pizza for 50 cents. Today poor mans food include something like simple rice or potato dishes. They were made to avoid hunger, not to be delicious meals as they are today. Pizza used to be made of all the ingredients nobody else wanted to eat. Except the garum and wheat, which was used about as commonly as we today use salt and pepper. A lot of people also argue that the margherita pizza is the original pizza, that pineapple doesn't belong on pizza, which isn't true. Because originally, tomato didn't belong on a pizza. That was changed and some people liked it. But it did not mean that the anchovy pizza disappeared.
@@debtcollector159 frankly, I do prefer oregano, as far as I know, it's always been the main ingredient alongside tomato sauce and mozzarella. I put also lots of flakes of red pepper. I like basil made in pesto, but I cannot stand put in my mouth the entire leaf, it makes me throw up!!!!
Fair enough, I'm Italian and I don't like basil (but I love pesto), so when I eat a Margherita in a pizzeria I remove it (btw many pizzerias don't put basil in their Margherita, even tough the classic recipe includes it) and when my mom makes it at home she put oregano in the tomato sauce to give an extra flavor
1 question do you use a Mat a clean mat to put the tip of the stick you use to get the pizza or pie ,if you do my apologies but if you dont that's not hygienic at all just saying
Dicen pura masa, poco queso. Una masa bien hecha se puede comer sin nada y disfrutar como el buen pan. Un buen queso no necesita desbordar para tener gusto. Los sabores hacen una buena comida no la cantidad.

Autentica pizza !!! Mi piace da morire..... Ottimo video come sempre.
What a smooth operation you have going on there. I really can’t wait to get my oven finished so I can do the same for family and friends.
Serve that good looking pizza here in US and many would scream.. “where is the cheese “?
That's because most cheap pizza in the US has disgusting dough and pizza sauce recipes, little Cesar's and papa murphys for example.
I'm Asian. Where is the cheese?
American artisan pizzas are also great, just different style. Those Napoli pizzas are often wet & floppy at the centre, and the crust kinda soft..
