What a sensational, griping documentary! I just couldn't take my eyes off the screen. No show off, no word too much, all thoughtfully told and said and shown with purpose and meaning. This is proper TV about the greatest ballet master ever!

This documentary mentions Balanchine's memoirs. He had no memoirs. So what is that referring to? Incredible documentary. Thank you SO SO much. I love seeing the father, sister, and brothers. Wow.

Very eye-opening - shows a side of Balanchine (Balanchivadze) that most Americans don't know. Great job!

The film footage is incredible. Look at the young Melissa Hayden whirling and striking poses with wild abandon. It is so so true that earlier era Balanchine dancers and performances had something later dancers and performances didn't have. All the later dancers were wonderful too but something is missing in the overall thing. The clips are incredible. Astounding footage! Where did they get all that footage? Like getting off the plane in Georgia. Those beautiful Russia women dancers playing around. This documentary is a great gift. THANK YOU so so much.

Thank you so very much. I am very happy to read your opinions. I want to tell you, that those beautiful dancers are all Georgian ballet dancers, they are not from Russia

The images are lovely, many unfamiliar -- but where is the sound? If you could dub the original into English, many of us would be VERY grateful. Thank you for posting.

The most of them are americans, Balanchine wished to creat american dance art, a very new one! Ananiashvili is georgian of course.
