I watched this game live. I remember the pelting rains. Ephraim Chawanda injured and subbed second half. Bruce Grobelaar gave a one man masterclass in goalkeeping during second half with saves of all kinds and sorts. Stadium was packed
This game and the Lyon rematch were a total nightmare for us Egyptians...some painful memories, but glad to meet someone from other side of the same generation...cheers!
@@baldaroon Thanks, Mate. Hani Ramzy (4) was the boss. I loved Hani Ramzy. The second half in Harare was tough. Egypt really came at us. Grobelaar had to make saves of all sorts. Egypt felt like the better team somehow. Hossan Hassan never stopped running and attacking. I missed the Lyoon game on TV but watched the 2-1 loss we endured in Cairo and Adam Ndlove scored one goal. That was really close. I don't watch Zim football now because it's no longer as good as it was then. The rivalry between these 2 teams began in Egypt in 1990-1 as under 23s at All Africa Games. It was a generation of Zimbabwe's best all time players in my view. (Noah Pomo
not properly run it was still in chaos under Mugabe's nephew Leo ,Fabisch and Bruce Grobelaar got in trouble for speaking out and Peter Ndlovu had to donate a kit for the squad with his own money ,Zifa Kufa kuya
Yeah, I am a Nigerian and am surprised at how Zimbabwean football has gone down in recent years. Great players then; Mwaruwari, Ndlovu brothers. Hope you guys get back on track

what was the result of ZIMBABWE VS EGPYT WORLD CUP QUALIFIER IN FRANCE AND WHO QUALIFIED IN THAT YEAR?
0-0. It was a replay for the reverse fixture of this 2-1 game. We lost the game 2-1 in Cairo but the resultant replay was 0-0 in Lyon, France.
