Nice review. I just picked a 2015 up, and absolutely love it. Very sharp car with a luxury feel, without breaking the bank. Buick has definitely stepped their game up.
Thank you for your review. I watched it when I was looking for a car last winter. In feb ,I ended up buying a 2015 Verano Leather package. Premium sound system.126,000 hiway miles. Pristine condition. 4 months into owning it,I love this car!!!! I wish it had turbo and a sunroof. But can live with out that. I’m in love with the sound system. 🎶❤️🎸We just got home from a very long road trip. 12 hrs. We never got butt wearying 🤭 seats are so comfy. Thank you for your review! I recommend this car to any car lover like me. I don’t care to drive an SUV. I love the feel of a car sitting on the road. People make fun of me for that 😆. ❤️
@@TheLameChurchGirl almost 3 years of owning it. Still love it! Only repair I’ve had to do was replace the airbag sensor under the passenger seat. Things are starting to look worn. Like the seals around the doors. Which can be replaced 🙂 Would I say your getting a steal 🤔 probably not, because I think all used vehicles have become over priced 🤨 I love mine and plan to keep it for several more years 😊 good luck 👍
The Buick Verano has a 5 Star Safety Rating with 10 Air Bags. I have a 15 Verano Leather and love it. On long tips I use Premium Unleaded with Non Ethanol. 36.5 MPG Hwy 2.4 Liter.
This was a great review, guy! Thanks for giving a heartfelt opinion about the car, not a glossed over, overly critical review trying to point out all of the car's faults, as some other reviewers tend to do. Keep up the great work!
I Love mines too.Bought mines in October 2019..Mine is a 2016 fully loaded with leather seats..Very quite, had 39,000 miles paid $12,000 & some change..Came with a powertrain warranty & bumper to bumper warranty..Feels LUXURIOUS!!!!!
I just purchased one and it was a one owner and has never been in an accident, rides much better then a Cruze and feels like a high quality ' high end car, the Cruze feels like a economy car and really isn't as nice as the Verano. The Buick rides better and is very quiet like a high end car should be. The Verano dash is a better design and it's very clear that Buick wanted there small car to do everything that a large Buick can do and maybe even better. Chevy Cruze is a nice car but not even close to the Verano when it comes to feeling like a high end car. I know they share size and basics, but Buick clearly went over and above to make the Verano look and feel like a luxury high end car.
Excellent video. My wife bought a 2014 two years ago and it has been trouble-free, comfortable to drive, handles great, and gets excellent gas mileage.
I bought a 2016, last year, its a Sport Touring., pretty well equipped , heated seats, Navigation back up camera, white w/ grey interior , found a deal , car had 20K on it for $14,449. I have taken it on 3 trips, Im in northern California and drove to Yosemite, Palm Springs, and then to southern Oregon, the car did just fine on the interstate and had no issues getting over Mountains . I had a Chevy Impala before and 90 percent of the time, I was by myself. Plenty of Luggage room on my trips, I was actually looking for a Cadillac ATS and couldn't find a low miles one in my price range so i went looking a Buick and I'm very pleased
I bought a 2015 Verano convenience package for only $15,000! It only had 10,000 miles. The reason why they dropped the price so low was because they needed to make room on their lot for the new cars coming in. And the Verano has been sitting there for a while, so they marked it down. I'm so happy with my new car. I get all the great features for just half the price!
+Kaitlyn Addison ~ Oh wow that's awesome! Was this at a Buick Dealership or an outfitter like Carmax? Are you still enjoying your Buick? I was looking at a Volkswagon Jetta, but my mechanic of over 12 years advised me not to b/c they are not making them like they use to, and sometimes getting the parts can be a challenge. I also wanted a 3 series BMW, but not the price!
It’s a dated review but it helped me choose my Verano. Thank you. I find it to be incredibly beautiful and my friends from all over the world have said it’s ‘pretty’.
Honestly ive had my verano for 4 years now its very comfortable get alot of compliments on it and haven't had one thing go wrong with it.in the long run thats very important too me with longevity.
The reason some new cars still use the old fashion goose neck trunk hinges is because they rise the trunk lid all the way up without driver input versus struts. Mercedes S class still uses them.
Yeah, a lot of these came off lease and you can pick them up super cheap. We got a 2014 two years ago with SIX THOUSAND MILES on it for $12000. The thing was practically new! The floor mats were still in the plastic wrappers in the trunk, the second key was still in the wrapper, and it had like 6 months of factory warranty left on it. We got the car for my daughter and other than maintenance it's has zero service issues.
Very well done .... Love that you brought up the Malibu I did rent a Malibu and I was astounded by the great mileage so you brought up the comparison of the engines which I think was tops in my mind which shows you know what you’re doing
I purchased this car used a year and a half ago. 2015 Buick Verano leather edition. I love it. Everyone states that it is a smooth ride. However my 9 year old grandson states that it does not have the legroom and they should have made the trunk smaller in favor of the legroom.
The Verano is very underrated- you can pick up low milage versions for a song these days, they're decked out, still look very modern, reliable, and fairly fuel efficient. My only complaint is the interior is a bit cramped if you're over 6' tall. If you want to get your kid a 1st car or you're looking for a solid daily driver, the Verano is a great choice. Surprised they stopped making them.
Agree 👍 my guy is 6’4” and on the chubby 😉 side. He had to figured out how to get in and out 😂 It’s my car so he is not in it much. Butttt he will only drive because he can put that seat back and down. The passenger’s seat goes back but not down. He sits to high in that seat.
Yep, I made it that far in the video LOL. Going to a dealer tomorrow to test drive a 2015 Verano with 75,000 miles on it for $9,000. Your video helped a lot because I am not familiar with this car and now I am adding it to the list of vehicles I want to test drive. The full coverage insurance was not that expensive through Progressive. Of course, I am 57, no tickets and have 42 years driving experience. But all in all this car MAY be what we're looking for. The back seat looks a bit small for our family. We have a 20 year old who is 6 ft. He rides with us a lot because he doesn't have his license yet, so this may be a problem. We'll see. Great video. Thanks again!
Very well done review of the Buick Verano but it's unfortunate that GM is discontinuing this model after 2017. The Verano has very little competition in this class and why they're abandoning it is very strange to me.
Thanks for the excellent review. In the sf bay area, you only see the foreign brands. I'd buy one of these for all the exact reasons that you've mentioned, and for the uniqueness of the car in a sea of Lexus,BMW, Benz, Acura, etc. I feel that way with my 13Focus. It is so good, and underappreciated. A real backroads joyride.
Great video man. I just bought the 2015 Leather Class one last month. I've put about 600 miles on it so far, and every one has been enjoyable. I've received multiple compliments on the car, especially from people riding in it. It does have a very "airy" feel inside, especially with the Leather model having a sunroof. I've had no complaints yet, other than maybe the Screen and computer system can be a bit sluggish sometimes when switching from reverse to drive.. but it's a computer on wheels, so I suppose it's not going to be world class speed. I also agree with the comment on the windshield columns.. I have felt that I needed to look around them on a few occasions. But overall, I really love the car. Again, awesome informative video!
@ATL Knowledge 2016 does not come with a push button start..I bought a 2016 w/ low miles bk in October 2019..Love Love Love my Verano..Very smooth, & Luxurious..Very Quite, runs like a sewing machine..Got mines for a very great reasonable price..Fully loadedl, On Star,& Sirius Radio..I recommend u to test drive 1
Thanks for the great info from kind of an everyday guy. I have a 2007 Lacrosse that i love, but cant afford the latest one. The Verano seems like a great cheaper replacement.
Love the new intro, looks really good! I kept thinking during the entire video, who is the market for this car? Unfortunately, as you said, people still equate economy cars with cheapness. I don't see many people being willing to pay $25,000-30,000 for an economy car.
stus1171 Thanks for noticing, just wanted to spice it up a bit, had one of my buddies draw me....risky! I do see the Verano around though, so I think some people see it as a good buy. -Greg
Excellent review! Nice real-world talking points, especially by showing off the back seat with the cute children to show the dimensions of the back seat..i am leaning toward the Verano and your review helped a lot.
Ok I tuned my car up and a friend of mine has a shop and he does dyno tests and after my tune my Verano hit 209 hp and it was very surprising. A friend of mine back in 2002 ordered a new BMW in Beaverton , Oregon and his new BMW 325i had a 2.5 liter strait 6 cylinder producing 180 horsepower and it weighs 3,350 Lbs . My Buick Verano has a 2.4 Liter strait 4 cylinder producing 180 horsepower “ mine has been tuned and has some performance things done to make 209 hp “ and my Verano weighs 3,400 Lbs. My point is this, the Verano and my friends car are really on paper about the same on paper but there is one big difference and it’s this , the Buick Verano if taken care of is very reliable, now my friends car handles better due to being set up for handling but with some changes the Verano can be made to keep up with my friends BMW. For those who want the turbo 2.0 I wouldn’t do it, have you ever noticed there aren’t many turbocharged cars from 8 years ago running around and the reason is a turbocharged gas engine just doesn’t last long especially if it’s a little engine like a turbocharged 2.3 liter in a Mustang rot a turbocharged 2.0 in Camaro, now the 1.4 turbocharged engine has a tiny turbo on it so it’s producing 134 horsepower and that number might be bigger now but probably not much more and it’s so it will match the power of the 1.8 naturally aspirated 4 cyl but the 1.4 will make more torque due to being turbocharged. I’m glad Buick went with the 2.0 turbocharged 4cyl and the 2.4 liter
First review of yours I've come across. Great job. Perfect balance of info, looks at the car, and your opinion. Liked, and subscribed. Look fwd to seeing your future work. Thx! Buick really seems to be cooking with their current lineup. Very much digging their design language of late. I think the Encore fits my family's needs and hatchback preference a bit better but both Verano and Encore really speak to my tastes.
04/2022. Was looking at a very nice 2016 Verano priced at $15,000. With 90,000 miles on it. Is that a good price? And also how many miles could I expect the Verano to go before the automatic transmission need to be rebuilt? I have a 2004 Lesabre that is about worn out. I had to rebuild the transmission on the LeSabre at 130,000 miles.
If you want the fighter jet feel, get a performance car. They are mostly fabricated in wind tunnels like jets to give them the "fighter" feel and look. This is a semi-luxury vehicle...
People think its so weird that I love this car. College student so I can't afford a brand new one...but in my area (Detroit) the CPO 13s and 14s are going for 12-15k with LESS than 20k miles. Do you think thats due to issues with the car or just because people aren't particularly interested in them?
They're actually VERY good cars. They get great gas mileage and the reliability ratings are pretty close to Toyota's. They're underrated because people don't want to drive a Buick because they're associated with old people buying them.I say that's a GOOD thing- those with the most age and wisdom know what to buy! I'm content with people not liking Buicks- I keep getting super low mileage cars that are cheap, comfy, reliable and make good power!
The 2015 Buick did pretty good on the 2018 JD car power dependability report, I want a 2015 car, so it's either this or the 2015 Malibu which also did pretty well.
just bought a 2014 Buick verano for 11000 I couldn't believe how cheap it was on the lot absolute steal best car and was cheaper than every junk car there no accidents was an absolute steal leather interior all that
Wife owns one. This is a very nice driving car for the money. Drives really well. Decent power, nimble, good suspension and handling. But the back seat is tight. Honestly not comfortable for anyone taller than 5'10". I'm not crazy about the columns on sides of windshield. Feel like it hinders visibility when turning. Not a perfect car but better than most of it's competition.
I just bought one yesterday.I pick it up in a couple of days.. ... Looking forward to spending more time in it and discovering some of the features I didn't notice when I test drove it. . .. Your kids are adorable. Your wife must be the good looking one. ;-) .. just kidding. .... Nice review.
From comparing to verano to Malibu, Malibu is bigger and have better fuel economy. But the advantage is that Buicks are going to be more quieter than the Chevy which is already quiet. I've have the Malibu 2.5 and its kind of louder than the Buicks on highway. Reason I didn't get the verano is because the backseat.
Just an excellent all-around review and very helpful observations and evaluative conclusions. Can you update this review? Understand the 16 and 17 model years have raised the bar further in terms of making it nicer inside and out on the road.
I'm in the middle with the Verano. Really I'd go for the Regal if I was looking at a Buick for a decent price. However, for the Regal's price, I'd probably go to Hyundai, Kia, or Toyota just for reliability.
my girlfriend wanted to watch Buick review s and find out about it if its a good car or not i have no idea still because you did not go over some safety issues and technology you mostly talked about mostly space and economy .. thanks
I think the Malibu gets better mileage due to direct injection and start-stop. The Verano is nicer than a loaded Cruze but a loaded Malibu is nicer than the Verano and similar price. The Regal is my favorite, it's feel and dynamics forgive a lot of things.
Gallup Journey Test Drives I think its high time you did.... Make that a Regal Turbo. Even better would be if you could Test a Chryler 200 and a KIA K7 Cadenza and K5 Optima along with it as a batch of 4. Also, generally for your reviews, it would be superb if you could move the camera around more to actually show the features or the lack thereof (7:30 - 8:30) as you speak of them. In addition try not to throw in half baked jargon if they don't really fit completely within the perspective (6:05 - 6:25).
Kamaka Chang I thought the Verano was supposed to have a much quieter cabin and softer ride, and that's what makes it so much nicer? I'd love a compact car that's really quiet and soft.
Robby M The current Malibu is pretty soft and quiet too. If you don't need the compact size of the Verano I think the Malibu is a nicer car. But you're right a lot of people are looking for a luxury car and don't want or need a big car anymore.
This is a great car that the market didn't want. First off, it's a Buick, so young people that buy compacts wont look at it. The people that are older don't get or care how reliable it is, and it has class but no sizzle. The infotainment graphics are a generation old (actually easier to see though) That said, it is the ultimate used car pickup, because it is a great car that depreciates like a chrysler. A 2016 that listed at $24,500 can be had for about 40% less in 2017... That means a 2016 with 20k miles cost less than a similar year old civic. Go figure.
+Lex W ~Yes, I would agree! A Crystal Red one passed by me this morning on my way to work. It was absolutely beautiful. Oh, I looked up the term "sleeper" car and I also made a stop at the Buick Dealership this afternoon to also view the Encore SUV up close. They're much smaller in person than online, but I'm only 5'2 and petite, no children so the compact size would work for me. So a decision would have to be made between that and the sedan. I also like the fact that I would be able to sit up a bit higher than I am now & see ahead. Have a wonderful weekend and continue to enjoy your Verano!!
Nice review.I cant believe this car was being compared to the a3 sedan in the luxury section. My quattro smokes this boring car.I could see you aging rapidly while you were driving this car!
+CeeStyleDj Wow, good to know!!! Do you currently have one? How is the driving experience? I was looking at a Volkswagon Jetta, but my mechanic of 12 + years advised me not to b/c he said they are not making them (Jetta's, BMW's, Volvo's) like they use to, and sometimes getting the parts can be a challenge. I also wanted a 3 series BMW, but not the price!
coach is here Oh wow, I would absolutely love an S3, just cannot take on the price tag right now. :-( Will certainly keep them in mind tho' Those Audi's & BMW's are still some sexy vehicles in my book!!! Enjoy yours immensely.

Jeff Rothman Thanks! I tested the Encore a few years back, its a good fit for a lot of people.

Problem is a turbo 2.0 isn’t going to last long but a 2.4 that has some goodies on it and tuned , it can make 220 to 230 HP easy.
Great video man! I agree this segment is under appreciated :)
Please add MANY more buttons! I want the fighter plane feel! More tech too!
If you want the fighter jet feel, get a performance car. They are mostly fabricated in wind tunnels like jets to give them the "fighter" feel and look. This is a semi-luxury vehicle...
My Verano has heated seats and side service detection system and a sunroof.
Problem with the turbo is that turbo engine will not live as long as the 2.4 engine and a 2.4 can be made to make big power with not that much effort.
Love your reviews man. Really considering this Buick Verano over the A3 or ILX, better dollar value IMO.
Excellent and thorough review
As a European, I found your plea for more reasonably sized (and prized) cars very interesting.!
do47m I'm not afraid to admit you guys have got some things figured out!
Thanks for chiming in from across the pond!
-Greg
People think its so weird that I love this car. College student so I can't afford a brand new one...but in my area (Detroit) the CPO 13s and 14s are going for 12-15k with LESS than 20k miles. Do you think thats due to issues with the car or just because people aren't particularly interested in them?
That's good to know. Thanks :)
did u buy one Qiana?
Looks like a nice ride Go Lions
About to buy a 2016 turbo. Does the turbo require premium gasoline.
I wish you could have shown the instrument panel and talked about what type of lighting is used: LED or incandescent.
Incandescent
Great job man! you know your stuff
Nice little car and great review chops!
Also based on the Opel/Vauxhaul Astra, a well respected compact in European countries
for $21k delivered this is actually a good car
just bought a 2014 Buick verano for 11000 I couldn't believe how cheap it was on the lot absolute steal best car and was cheaper than every junk car there no accidents was an absolute steal leather interior all that
yep that's my plan. Was wondering about the quality. Interesting they are being discontinued.
I just got a 2014 as well and I love it and it was the same price as yours haha
Wife owns one. This is a very nice driving car for the money. Drives really well. Decent power, nimble, good suspension and handling. But the back seat is tight. Honestly not comfortable for anyone taller than 5'10". I'm not crazy about the columns on sides of windshield. Feel like it hinders visibility when turning. Not a perfect car but better than most of it's competition.
K. Theodos Thanks for watching and sharing your real world experiences!
-Greg
Think about this and a Chevy cruz. Thank you so much this was very helpful
Excellent job.
I have a 13 verano premium T and love it. Very surprised with how fast and luxurious it is.
Since it's based on the Cruze, Buick really needs to offer the TDI in the Verano. That would be cookin'
For best bang for the buck, Its hard to beat Buicks, I drive the older 3800 series IIs and they are bulletproof!
which is why gm does not offer the 3800 anymore.
looks pretty cozy.
It is
are there led lights standard? also how is noise cancellation?
From comparing to verano to Malibu, Malibu is bigger and have better fuel economy. But the advantage is that Buicks are going to be more quieter than the Chevy which is already quiet. I've have the Malibu 2.5 and its kind of louder than the Buicks on highway. Reason I didn't get the verano is because the backseat.
yiyangcheng thanks for watching and sharing! Good thoughts.

Love my 2012 Metallic Grey Convenience Class
Just an excellent all-around review and very helpful observations and evaluative conclusions. Can you update this review? Understand the 16 and 17 model years have raised the bar further in terms of making it nicer inside and out on the road.
Is Verano quieter than midsize sedan like Malibu or Fusion?
The cabin of the verano is dead silent. It still amazes me everytime i get in it.
Edit: Just realized this comment is 4 years old, oops lol
gonna get it! thanks! you're my height, so this works
We're giants alright!
-Greg
2015 Verano, 42,000 miles. My paint job is wacky, the side detection system is failing, and my heat sensor needed replacing. Uff da. What’s next?
Very nice review
I'm in the middle with the Verano. Really I'd go for the Regal if I was looking at a Buick for a decent price. However, for the Regal's price, I'd probably go to Hyundai, Kia, or Toyota just for reliability.
NOLAItsNotOva I'm a fan on the regal too, its just the right size.
thanks for watching.
-Greg
Well I am here to tell you the Regal's reliability is on par with the Toyota...the 2.0 turbo is very sturdy and reliable..
***** If it's just as reliable, then why isn't it selling as well as the Camry?
BroccoliBeefed How many Toyota commercials do see as compared to Buick?
www.carcomplaints.com/Buick/Verano/
my girlfriend wanted to watch Buick review s and find out about it if its a good car or not i have no idea still because you did not go over some safety issues and technology you mostly talked about mostly space and economy .. thanks
THATS NOT A BUICK!!!!! THATS WHAT I TOLD HIM
SeanP7195 right!
Thanks for watching.
-Greg
I just got one it's a 2016 I hope I did the right choice
hi, how you like the Verano so far?
Great reliable premium car. I've owned a 2012 for 2 years with 52k miles not one problem drives like new.
I think the Malibu gets better mileage due to direct injection and start-stop. The Verano is nicer than a loaded Cruze but a loaded Malibu is nicer than the Verano and similar price. The Regal is my favorite, it's feel and dynamics forgive a lot of things.
Kamaka Chang good thoughts. I really like the Regal too. My dealer has a GS sitting on the lot, might try and drive it.
-Greg
+Robby M (w0by) I have a verano and I love it. It is quiet and it floats like a cloud lmao.
Love mine except the oil burning common to the 2.4l motor.
Excellent review!
Paul Leon thanks for stopping by!
-Greg
Are these really expensive to insure??
This is a great car that the market didn't want. First off, it's a Buick, so young people that buy compacts wont look at it. The people that are older don't get or care how reliable it is, and it has class but no sizzle. The infotainment graphics are a generation old (actually easier to see though) That said, it is the ultimate used car pickup, because it is a great car that depreciates like a chrysler. A 2016 that listed at $24,500 can be had for about 40% less in 2017... That means a 2016 with 20k miles cost less than a similar year old civic. Go figure.
Great review Greg! Cute kids!
Alex Easley thanks!
-Greg
I gave you a thumbs up just for calling it "The Interweb"
Thx 4 ur review.
Great review. I have a 2013 turbo. It's a sweet sleeper
Eli Richardson right on! (love sleepers)
-Greg
What's a sleeper?
+Lex W ~ LOL. I just asked that. I may need to Google it. I'm certainly looking at purchasing one.
+Sara Sar I have this car I love it perfect for a young professional
+Lex W ~Yes, I would agree! A Crystal Red one passed by me this morning on my way to work. It was absolutely beautiful.
Oh, I looked up the term "sleeper" car and I also made a stop at the Buick Dealership this afternoon to also view the Encore SUV up close. They're much smaller in person than online, but I'm only 5'2 and petite, no children so the compact size would work for me. So a decision would have to be made between that and the sedan. I also like the fact that I would be able to sit up a bit higher than I am now & see ahead.
Have a wonderful weekend and continue to enjoy your Verano!!
can you review a verano turbo?
Great review....nice car
Gerardo Sierra thanks for watching!
-Greg
Opel Astra J Sedan is that you?
Great video
Awesome car
Nice review.I cant believe this car was being compared to the a3 sedan in the luxury section. My quattro smokes this boring car.I could see you aging rapidly while you were driving this car!
Test drive one. and with all due respect, as for being smoked, the Turbo model will out power your VW turbo.
Sara I just picked up the s3 Audi ! I traded in my a3 It was worth it! 300 horsepower and it looks amazing. Go for that one if u can
coach is here Oh wow, I would absolutely love an S3, just cannot take on the price tag right now. :-( Will certainly keep them in mind tho' Those Audi's & BMW's are still some sexy vehicles in my book!!! Enjoy yours immensely.
Cute I oddly like this Buick
this or altima
XM radio is also pretty much worthless. They will also harass you to buy more no matter how much you tell them to stop.
Car would turn heads in Holbrook...ha
I have a 2015 Buick Verano...
That is why I'll get this in white lol
505... Santa Fe
Nice car! Cute kids, too! :-)
