It’s a basic marketing tactic to make their (many) sales throughout the year look more enticing. They don’t really expect people to purchase a plastic bottle of scented alcohol and water for $18.95. Victoria’s Secret does the exact same thing... $19.95 when you buy 1 or $11 when you buy 3 or $8 when you buy 5. Both stores always drop the price to $5.95 or $6.95 a few times per season and that’s when I make my purchases.

Yep all the Yankee Candles closed one by one the last few years as their leases were up in malls here in Ontario😭…there is just one left now about an hour east of Toronto so it’s a bit of a trek for me but still worth it❤

Hi Bonnie! I'm not surprised YC stores are closing. YC had closed all of their stores here in Canada during the pandemic and discontinued shipping to Canada which I feel like is a HUGE business mistake as they are shooting themselves in the foot with turning their back with the Canadian market. The company has been hurting for the last few years and I'm not surprised if YC closes down for good. Last few years their candles have been lacking as well. The quality is not the same as I remember. I was lucky enough to shop at YC during their prime. I used to love shopping in store during the Halloween season especially. I still have a lot of the Halloween candles and accessories. I have some Christmas YC candles as well. The good news is that Goose Creek now ships to Canada. There is no competition for them now with YC. With BBW I'm waiting for a fine fragrance mist sale to pick up Peach Bellini. I will have to try it out in person in store though to make the decision to purchase or not. I know Pretty As A Peach is only available in the U.S. so I'm wondering Peach Bellini is any different. The fine fragrance mist is actually slightly lower in Canada with the price point which is at $17.50, but I'm still waiting for a mist sale. The price point is still high here even with using a coupon. With the tax on top of everything it's best to wait for a mist set priced sale.

I used to see their candles being sold at other sister stores like HomeSense and Marshalls. I don't think there was a YC store in city of Toronto when I used to live there at the time. I didn't really shop at a YC store until I moved to the Guelph, Ontario area. I was shopping at the YC store for years after that. There were a couple of stores near by like in the city of Kitchener and Cambridge. In just a few years they closed down the Cambridge store and finally the Kitchener store during the pandemic.
@crafting_after_midnight4154 Yes, I shopped at a store in the mid nighties to around 2000, and they sold Yankee Candles. I didn't see an actual store in my area until many years later. They will surely be missed. I loved the store at Fairview. ♡

Peach Bellini used to be one of my favorite wallflower fragrances but in the body care I’m not a fan. It immediately reminded me of Champagne Toast, which I find way too cloying to wear.
Our Yankee Candle store in the mall closed as well. 🙁 I’m actually under the impression they are going to continue to add to the beveled collection overtime. I don’t think Peach Bellini was meant to come out in the winter. It reminds me of what they have done with the faceted collection. Peach Bellini is a favorite of mine. It was wonderful in 2015 and I have smelled it in the FFM a couple times and it smells so good to me. I am guessing we will have a set price body care sale coming up with the next month and I am making my list and it includes Peach Bellini. 🍑
