That's interesting about Spells for Forgetting because the author wrote YA in the past and I believe this is her first Adult Fantasy novel. I loved her YA books. Love your content!
You basically described my thoughts on Spells for Forgetting exactly. If it wasn’t marketed as fantasy, I wouldn’t have picked it up. It felt too much like it was just trying to cross genres when it was essentially a murder mystery. The atmosphere was great and it is perfect for this time of year, but I need more magic and fantasy elements in my books 😅
I've been reading Brandon Mull's series The Beyonders (middle grade) when I need a break from adult fantasy and morally grey characters. Sometimes you need a good vs evil, light vs dark, black vs white story to cleanse the palate.
The colour of your amazing book shelves are amazing and fantastic love it 🥰 love you and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading love you and your amazing family prayers and thoughts for you all love your family friend John ❤❤❤
I just got a copy of Spells for Forgetting in today, I am trying to get to it this month. Sometimes it does annoy me when 30-something characters don't act like they are in their 30s, but fingers crossed I still enjoy it because the concept does sound pretty cool. I finished Blood Scion this month and while I didn't love it, I did like it and think it is really well done. I wasn't expecting it to be so violent, but it made sense. There were some things that didn't make sense to me about the training and everything, The tactics really didn't make sense at all, especially because they would want quantity over quality when it comes to these soldiers that are basically meant to just go to the front line to die.. idk it didn't make sense to me. as well as the romance that I think could have been left out completely. I am interested in the 2nd book though to see what happens after the ending.
Forget these new books, "AeonHeart" NEEDS to be read and reviewed for it's uniqueness and brilliance in its genre of fantasy. A review on Amazon kindle, called it, "a fascinating piece of art that unfolds before your eyes like magic."
I kept forgetting that the main POV characters were in their 30s. They acted and reacted to things a little more like people(characters) in their early 20s. It made me a whole lot less invested in them and what was happening around them. I would have liked the magic that was introduced to have more of a role in the story. I think if that was removed the story would have functionally been the same. Adrienne Young's other book/series Sky in the Deep is really good, I'd recommend that.
Not related to this video, but a little while ago i shared a theory about the ending of The Ballad Of Never After and you said that i could always report back after i finish it even if the video isn't related. So here I am: My first thought after finishing was that the ending wasn't as unsatisfying as everyone made it sound. But that was probably an expectation-thing as i had heard the reviews. By the time i reached the ending, Stephanie Garber had also made clear that there would be a third book, so subconsciously i went in expecting a middle-book ending instead of a series finale. So that probably also influenced how i felt. I am happy that there would be a third book. There still are plenty of loose threads, which i had expected. But in didn't end in the right place if she would have ended the series here. If she wanted to make it seem as if the story curse had affected the story, she probablyu should have ended it when Jacks decided to go back in time and then you had the "Will it work or not?". I thought it was going to end there because i was reading the e-book so i couldn't see how many pages were left. But then it continued. I really liked what came after, don't get me wrong, but that would have been how i expected the ending to be. apologies for the mildly rambly wall of text, but i really enjoyed TBoNA
I just finished the liars crown. Lost focus a little in the middle because life made it hard to read and j wanted to finish it and get to another book that I had waiting. Depending how far you got the traveling part ended fairly quickly and I felt that the main character was quite strong and did focus on her own personal growth which I appreciated. All the pieces came together and was more a set up for the next book. Content is way more new adult though. You can tell the author came from adult romance genre. I did like the depth that they did reveal about the main male lead as well.
I picked up the Ninth Rain because of you and just finished it. I loved it! I loved the characters and the world is so interesting. I want to reduce my physical TBR, but I had to buy books 2 and 3. Thank you for the recommendation.
I would love to hear your opinion on the new Neon Yang book, it has really interesting religious themes and I haven't seen a lot of people talk about it. The title is The Genesis of Misery.
The colors in this video pop out so much, the quality is just- 😍😍
I agree, Elle wins my award for "most beautiful book shelves on booktube" too!

I love political fantasy and your recommendations. I would love to see an updated Political Fantasy recommendation list from you!
I like your glasses. Do you ever write under the video the names of your eye glasses and the company?
Here’s the link to them! I work with the company quite a bit, so this is an affiliate link :) glassesusa.me/EllBrooks_AmeliaEElara

Ohh, yay!!! That makes me so happy-thank you for sharing 😄😄😄
We’re there no video chapters or am I not finding them after the update? I don’t really care, I just want to know if it’s me 😅
I also find it a bit exhausting to have the same trope, angsty romance is good but I prefer it when that isnt the forefront

Does anyone know the song playing at the end of the video, its really beautiful
I think it's a song she composed and plays herself. I don't know what Elliot calls it, though.
It’s from the Witcher 3 soundtrack! It’s called The Tree When We Sat Once, and it is indeed really beautiful ☺️
@@ebnovels thank you!
