I met Greg in passing at the gym we both had a membership at when he was still in Columbus. He was very kind and took the time to shake my hand. I wish the best for Coach. Go Bucks!

Coach Schiano is a class guy. Hope he can turn Rutgers into a good Bowl team. I liked when he was here at OSU. Just a Buckeyes fan period. Go Buckeyes!

My big complaint about him is his terrible handling of the QB spot. Very early in round one of his coaching career at Rutgers he used to stick with a QB for far too long (Cubitt). Ever since Teel graduated he's been playing musical chairs with them. We're 5 weeks into the season already, settle on a starter. It's no wonder they keep transferring out of RU. Just when they think they did well enough to be the man this coach announces that they have to fight for the job again. It's a piss poor way oh handling the key position and demoralizing to the kids as well.

@@mdteletom1288 That's the reason why society is in the sorry state it's in today. Life is tough and unfair - despite many attempts to alter or legislate fairness. You do these kids no favors by coddling them to the point where they are incapable of handling any sort of adversity. I learned how to handle adversity from my parents and reinforced by my military service. I was transformed from a timid, insecure youngster into a man capable of staring adversity in the face and poking it in the eye. That served me well after the military through my undergrad years, graduate years, and throughout my career.

I'm a buckeye fan so I might be a little biased, I dunno. But I like Schiano, I like Rutgers, I love the choppin wood thing, I think Rutgers is a great addition to the B1G. Old time football program and I love to see it do well.
But against Ohio State...I dunno man. There are few teams I think could beat our offense right now. That's a tough one for Rutgers to work on this week. Wish you guys the best for a good game, and obviously I want the Bucks to win, but I really respect you guys and look forward to the game.

Schiano will get Rutgers to a bowl this year. He is improving that program. With that said, they will lose to Ohio State by 50 or more(if Day piles it on). Ohio State is the best team in the country and will win the national championship this year unless Stroud goes down.

OSU fan here and have always though highly of Schiano. Seems like a good dude and he knows what he's talking about. I like the fact he addresses some of the media by name, which shows respect. He was respected at OSU, but I never thought that was a good fit. As a former member of the media, though, have to say covering Schiano's press conferences would be a breath of fresh air compared to Saban, Les Miles, Paul Chryst, Scott Frost, Paterno. Schiano will get Rutgers to 7-8 wins a year, but it remains to be seen if they will ever be able to consistently beat the Big Ten's top 5 teams.

Idk about 8 wins, 6 should be doable though and maybe 7 if they pull off an upset somewhere.

Greg Schiano seems like a good guy as a coach. If I were a highly rated player from Ohio and I didn't get the OSU offer this is one Big Ten coach you would play football for him. Fleck is a used car salesman, Chryst would put you to sleep, Harbaugh is just weird, Ped State is a creepy place. Hope he does well except against OSU.
