My family is booked on an eastern Med cruise this June. We like newer ships, but the itinerary on the Constellation was exactly the ports we wanted. I’ve been on the oldest ship in the HAL line once, again for the itinerary, service is excellent regardless of age of ships,
We were on the Connie this April and the food and entertainment were Excellent! The ship does need a dry dock, however. Our balcony railing was in terrible shape.
Great review! I want to add that the food at the Mast Grill and Spa Cafe is included in your fare. The Spa Cafe has bites for breakfast and lunch.... the Mast Grill serves burgers, hotdogs and fries, etc for lunch. Love yoir reviews.....we love to travel by train and found you on your train channel. In fact, we talk the Meteor to Florida when we cruise.😊
We sailed on Celebrity for 16 in early January 2020 before the world stood still. We had a fabulous time. The staff were fantastic , food was good sometimes great. The entertainment was fine for the size of ship. We found the only negative was where the smoking was allowed. At the time we sailed it was on deck 4 promenade on the starboard side towards the bow . This upset our evening walk and way to dinner. To be honest I wish all cruise lines would ban smoking completely.
i'm a new subscriber, thank you for this- i think i like VERY similar stuff to you guys, especially the thermal suites so i REALLY appreciated your details especially because it helped me to book my next cruise on constellation! :D
Spot on regarding your comments, just got back from our 12 day cruise to Columbia and Panama and just loved our time. Having a smaller ship was enjoyable and easy to get on and off the ship. Food as you said was average, we had the Aqua class and the shower and spa area really wasn't much to talk about it. Our staff was good and solid as we ate mostly in Blu. Thanks for your opinion and I agree.
Thank you for sharing this it has been really helpful. How did you find the food in the main restaurant and were you on Connie after the refurb in 2021?
Great job but I want to clear up a myth about food. You don't get better food on the newest ships. I went on the Constellation when it was almost brand new, and it was a different ship. But, it had the worst food on it compared to the Zenith and Horizon, at the time Celebrity's oldest ships or Galaxy and Century. It all has to do with ingredients and management on the ship. You can get less than Celebrity standard food on the newest Edge ships (and I don't like those ships). Your points about swimming, smoke-free casino, minimal announcements, thellasotherapy pools are all great points. As far as the ship condition, that's not the Celebrity I'm used to. No matter the age of the ship, the sort of things you pointed out would have been unacceptable on any Celebrity ship of any age so they've slipped in terms of maintaining their ships. Still, I think people are getting spoiled with so many new ships and I don't think newer/bigger is better. I think the Edge ships are way worse than the Solstice or Millennium ships. Entertainment, food, service are all crew dependent more than ship dependent. Staffs being rotated to accommodate newer ships is probably the issue with this one. This isn't a ship-specific thing but a shift in staff thing. I think for ship-specific things ask yourself what do I like? Stateroom, pools, deck space and what aspects of them, what do I want to do and does the ship have the spaces I want to do them in. If so, read reports on how those spaces accommodate what you want. They could sound good on paper but end up not working out. If you can't deal with a bit of wear showing here and there then book a new ship. If you can, then ship age shouldn't matter more than ship content. I think people have to do a ton of research on not only the cruise line and itinerary and packages, but the class of ship of that cruise line. For Celebrity, Millennium and Solstice class are the definitive Celebrity. The Edge class is more Edge by Celebrity. And there is also the expedition, small-ship Gallapogos series Celebrity ships that are quite different as well.
We've recently come from a Constellation cruise around the Med, it was our first time with celebrity. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the cruise. One thing people said before the cruise was the the food was fantastic. And while the tuscan grille was amazing we found the main dining didnt really wow us. The quality was good but the choice was ok didn't amaze us, is that normal for celebrity or as you said was that mainly because it's not a newer class ship?
did almost that same itinerary...Grand Cayman instead of Bermuda..Jan 23rd-feb 3...Like the ship, not a fan of the love of mirrors (nobody needs to see THAT in the morning!), the dinnertime buffet was VERY disappointing....otherwise fantastic! loved the Activities Boys lol and Manuel (cruise director) was great!
We are cruising 10 days on this ship in mid 13:42 October 2024 the best of Italy/Croatia, we want to spend as little as possible on ship stuff, what are your recommendations for thrifty cruising?
Would you do this particular ship transatlantic again? We have been looking at it. We like the smaller ships. And the dates work really well for us. It’s also a LOT cheaper than the Ascent transatlantic so that is another factor.
Hi I found you review very interesting as my husband and I took our very first cruise on Celebrity back in November 2022 from Australia to New Zealand (we are Australians) on Celebrity Silhouette and we were bitterly disappointed. Unfortunately Downunder we only receive all of the eldest ships from any of the cruise line companies for our cruising season and I wondered if the food and service would be better on Celebrity’s newer ships. So far for us Holland America has been our favourite line.
The Silhouette is not an old ship by any means. It's a relatively new ship in not so insane times as now when, what a 15 year old ship is considered old. Ships should last 45 years plus. This idea you have to cruise the newest class of ship to get a good cruise product is ludicrous, IMO.
Would never sail on Carnival again, worst cruise I've ever had. Constellation may be an older ship, but still classy, (unlike any Carnival), with great itineraries.
I have definitely aged out of Carnival at 67 . I decided that 3 cruises and 2 years ago - went back because my husband got this “ amazing Casino deal “ then we went again when his son asked us to go with him but never , ever again. I feel that Celebrity has wonderful entertainment and plenty of activities if you choose to avail yourself of them .
when I was on the constellation last october there was tuscan grill, the sushi restaurant and le petite chef, that you could also eat at for a cost. Also the spa cafe and the pool grill that were included. Are they not there anymore? that is weird. as you said there was only main dining and buffet.
Love the Connie and their excellent crew and food. Too bad you had to rank on the crew for being their first cruise. Makes me wonder what you could possibly do for a living and if you were ever new at it and were trying to learn the job by being thousands of miles away from your friends and family. I hope I never see you on any Celebrity cruise.
We are cruising 11/30/24 for 12 nights. Love your channel and review❤ Looking forward to having a great experience!

Thanks! I always enjoy your videos. You two are both so well spoke and flow nicely together.
Thank you!

Connie is going into dry dock during 2024 :)
Thank you 😊 is water included in the restaurants ?
Hi, just wondering where your link is for your favorite travel adaptor you mentioned in your video. Really enjoyed your video!
Thank you so much! Kate

It is much better on ships like the Apex

Would you recommend eating off the ship as much as possible and grabbing snacks to keep on board?
Im scheduled feb 2024 on the constellation and now im wondering if i should switch ships.
Such an old ship. You did well to find the positive. We are 66 and 74. We will still do Carnival and hope we never get this old😅
Thanks!

Not sure why they did not bother to mention them. They are there. They don’t seem to spend extra on anything. Not a very detailed review.
What month was this?
It was March
I was about to book this ship for next year. Thank you for the review.
We're thinking of talking long transatlantic cruise, are there any vegetarian vegan choices.
What is a philosopho pool. Excuse my spelling but i honestly have no idea what the word is. I'm guessing by your photos its a hot tub of some sort.
Thalassotherapy pool. I had to google it, but basically hydrotherapy pool that is often a warm pool with jets
What was the occupancy in ship, was it full.
Ours was about 2k and it was pretty full just got back last weekend.
What's a thermal suite?
It is a spa relaxation area
@@GroundedLifeCruises thank you
"Night time pool is empty". What time hours that would be. Thank you.
Very slow service on MDR as well for us.
I was sad 😥to hear about the pizza 🍕because I LOVE 💌🍕💌🍕💌🍕💌🍕💌 🍕pizza.
How can you screw up pizza?!
Hmm.. I don't know, but they really did!

Makes me wonder what you could possibly do for a living and if you were ever new at it and were trying to learn the job by being thousands of miles away from your friends and family. I hope I never see you on any Celebrity cruise.
I can’t find one thing negative about this ship.
