Today we are on cloud 9 shopping the Rose City Vintage Market at the Portland, Oregon Expo Center! I find my MOST VALUABLE find EVER today and I'm going to introduce you to some of the amazing vendors at the RCVM!

Dear laura, i am Indonesian here same information about the painting :
Djipto Mangunkusomo is the name of the man in the painting. he was one of the heroes of Indonesian independence in the 1940s. Currently his picture is also on Indonesian currency notes, also many statues of him are built in big cities in Indonesia, the names of major streets in several cities also use his name. the painter himself is a well-known artis in Indonesia and his works have been purchased by many international collectors.

the background of the painting is like a village and the women, that is the style of the artis who composes for woman emancipation and also what the hero fights for, which is about equal education for everyone, including women, who at that time patriarchy was very massive in Indonesia.
Has no one noticed how Laura's outfit is unbelievably coordinated with the painting? she looks like an extension of it when she is holding it. Of course it had to end in your lap.

And that she uses it as an opportunity to learn more!
Reason is the way to go! If someone has something I love and they're asking a reasonable price then I don't ask for a cheaper price...it seems Laura is the same way. If they're unreasonable (in my estimation, but it's still their right to decide the price if it's theirs) then I'll ask to come to an agreeable price for us both!

OH MY WORD! I about jumped out of my skin when the doggy appeared... It's IDENTICAL to one my mother had from the 70's through the 80's. His name was Shades & I've been looking for another one that color ever since. We miss him SO MUCH! Best dog ever!!!

Dear friend, I have lived in Oregon for a year, and it is truly amazing what you created here for us to enjoy or just get back some of the most amazing memories I created there. The Oregon Rose City Market, was really, well EVERYTHING! So many incredible, beautiful things. The vendors seemed so knowledgeable and friendly, the event so well put together. It's uncanny & the ring was made before the shroud became so public.

Just picked up a green Bitossi vase for 28$, same as your big Rimini blue one just green, I have 6 now and 3 are very rare. Your trip to the mall looked amazing! I would have lost my mind! There was a standing hand in the roll desk dresser, did you see that?
The pink and floral top you pulled out was amazing! Ooooo the needle point pillow with all the flowers, gorgeous colors on that. We need an update on your kitchen.

I love it when booths know things about the vintage they are selling. Most of the time they only know the materials or sometimes the maker. But rarely do they also know the year, the region, or how long it took. I understand sometimes that information is alluding! But it makes the item you buy all that more special.
Is better they don't know everything about the pieces on sale or they would be charging more
You got some great deals…your top looks great with the painting. We went to an estate sale..been looking for a summer comforter. This lady had a beautiful grey comforterwith pink flowers..Looked like a Japanese..just so pretty. She said she loved it. Then I watched her and she put it down. I asked her mom if her daughter was to buy it. Mother said I don’t know. I had the estate person take it out to see if it was clean and no stains. You have to hold on to stuff if you really want it . The lady told my husband she liked a metal piece and would come later to get it . I don’t think she realized that that is not the way estate sales work!!!!
