Hifiman sales make almost all of their headphones compelling at some point. The recent sale was truly nuts, even the HE1000se [3500$] was down to 1699$

I mean this in the nicest way possible. But the amplifier Luxman P-1u you used for testing. According to google only outputs 500mw at 32 0hms. I say this because The he6se v2 requires at least a 2w amplifier at 50hms according to hifiman. I say this because as someone who usually doesn't care all that much about amplifiers specifically notice how the 6sev2 scales up with power especially in how natural it sounds. For example I originally had a thx 888 amplifier and Went to a schiit magnius, then Topping a70 pro. On the topping while they may be similar volumes for vocals to the thx 888 the bass impact will have much more dynamics and not sound anemic at all compared to the thx, or schiit. (to a lesser extent) Also In my experience the soundstage opens up a lot and the treble gets less glary or siblant.

All good man, no worries at all! That's why i stated my amplifier cause I want the audience to share their own experience with other gear which is what you did. So if anything, thank you for sharing your experience with other gears.

I've tried many of the Open Back HIFIMAN HP's and the HE1000 Stealth(V4) hits the sweet spot for me. Great all Rounder. Bass, Treble isn't hot

Agreed! Another one for a lower price tier would be the Sundara which has an even friendlier tonal balance.

Would you say the HE6 og version is comparable or better than the HE1000 stealth or other variants?
I'm having a difficult time finding an endgame hifiman under 2k currently. There's too many varying and contradicting opinions especially especially concerning the HE1000 stealth/etc series.
I am researching whether to keep the HE1000 stealth or return it for the HE6se v2/other variants. At this point, I might just get the Arya V3 and call it a day.
    Thanks

They are two different headphones. The HE6 line is more about power, slam and dynamism. The HE1000 is about spaciouness, microdetail, a friendlier tuning perhaps? The OG HE6 is quite expensive if you find them on a used market not to mention their mileage and being harder to drive.
Personally, I find the HE1000 Stealth the best Hifiman headphone under 2k but it seems like you're not too happy since you're considering parting ways with it? I like the HE1000 a bit better than Arya also. There's a reason the HE6se V2 is significantly less expensive so unless you're specifically looking for its strengths and saving money on the side, I wouldn't really replace the HE1000 with it. Just my 2 cents btw

@@HeadphonePH My first impressions wasn't bad, but I thought it sounded a bit thin and bright. Powerful bass though.
Without EQ I'm not a big fan, but with EQ, I have been relieved and probably will keep them. I'm not concerned with saving much money at this level, I'm mainly focused on attaining an endgame headphone that is well balanced. I already do have high value headphones that perform well so I'm covered there. I'm now entering the finale, I don't want to shop for anymore headphones after this. I do want to keep it under 2000, preferably under 1500. I believe I'm close.
I need something better than the Focal Clear og though, which I have.
